- Planted nano cube aquarium got new fish Honey gourami (Trichogaster chuna). I removed all the adult white pearl shrimps and only shrimplets will remain in this aquarium. Mr. Honey was initially confused after being added to the new environment. He is in my care for almost 6 months and I got him as a baby fish.

Has your honey done anything to the shrimp or is he/she just a peaceful baby?
He tried to hunt them. He got some but when I was tearing down aquascape I found a lot of shrimps hiding.

Lovely scene. Just question, do Mr Honey really see shrimplet is food? How about bigger shrimp?
Yes he does see them as a food. He is a predator and I am sure he will chase them but shrimps are good in hiding so hopefully few of them survives.

What stone is used ?
Full name is in the build video (EP1). If I remember correctly it was something like petrified wood stone.
Thx. for sharing light intensity, I know a lot depends on the light used etc ... but I was wondering how you kept the tank (almost) free of algea and the plants in good health. I'm struggling with that in my main tank but in a small tank with some plants and snails and slow growing plants I have the intensity at 20% and like yours I was surprised that it remained free of algue (some on the glass every now and than) while plant growth is steady.
I did avoid algae growth but because of lower light intensity but the plants are also growing slower. So it is always a game of "balance". Now that I bumped up intensity I hope the plants will to continue to grow just a little bit faster. I find that every aquarium is a different system and what works in one doesn't necessarily transfer to another aquarium. Most of LED aquarium lights on the market today are too strong. In most of my aquariums I used anywhere from 10-20% brightness; I rarely go above 50%.
@@IMaqua My experience as well that every aquarium is different. I had a 45l with a 'white' light and plant growth was excellent. When I placed those plant in my new 125l they were no longer able to settle and died off. i was using the same substrate as in my 45l so I guess its the light/depth of the tank. I now have a standard Juwel (no CO2) and I have to keep an eye on algea not running out of control. Light I have on it is the Juwel HeliaLux with white, green and red at 80%, blue on 35% but stem plant growth remains a challenge. Also I have nitrataes around 10 for fear of algea growth if I go any higher, that may impact stem plant growth as well. BTW I have a lot of floating plants to also manage 'balance'.
@@Dassenkop I guess all this is the interesting part of this hobby; no two tanks will ever be the same. As much as I hate floating plants during maintenance they are useful especially during cycling phase.
