She’s a beaut Clark!!
Sure is
Thanks for sharing, always enjoy your videos. Congratulations and best wishes with the combine. Please keep them coming, stay well be safe.
Most importantly, thank you for feeding us.
Well I’m glad you enjoy the videos. I will keep them coming. This combine is pretty awesome.
I hope Fendt provides a wake-up call to JD.
Me too
Why would you even care. JD have been very clear what they think of farmers, far better work with a company that appreciates farmers, than one that clearly thinks that you should be abused
GRAIN HARVEST!!!!! Gettin down to my favorite season!
Well there is a lot of videos coming up. Stay tuned
That's awesome! It would sweet to get pictures of that! Great video!
That would be cool!
Another great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love your videos thank you!
I’m glad you love them.
Really good video love seeing harvest 👏👏👏
I’m glad you enjoyed it
60’ header seems nuts to me too. Even if it flexed hitting hills on two sides I’d think you’d be digging a rut between them. But I’m not a farmer so probably not thinking about it right. Looking forward to seeing you guys eat up some more acres!
Yeah, 60 foot headers seems insane but I know they have those big flex headers.
is realy ideal !!!!!
Yes it is
You could use them for feed as potato sludge
We could, but the only problem is all the feedlot are completely full of potatoes we’ve checked
@@RockyMountainFarmer might work for dairy too I know beef cattle eat but not sure about dairy if it would work or not
Nice combine! Don’t see any of those in our parts. Want to say thank you for keeping the content clean! My six year old son can sit in my lap and watch your videos with me. 👍🏻
That is awesome! I always keep it clean. I don’t even swear off camera.
@@RockyMountainFarmer that’s saying something when you’re farming. Especially when you’re having one of those days and absolutely goes right. You refer to sacks of taters, how many pounds is a sack?
@@jackweeks8099 100 lbs
Yes it’s 100 lbs
Interested follower from Denmark watching your harvest cross the sea.
Wondering the choice of combine. Why not american made ones..?
Well this one is owned by agco so it is American just assembled in Italy. We just wanted one that performs well and since this one was like 600000 dollars less than the Deere it only made sense
I know this is probably a silly question, but here we go... does the windrow get used? Like baled? Or does it get plowed into the field?
Yes, we bail it into straw bales and sell it to the dairy and they use it for bedding for their cows. But that’s a good question.
What type of combine did you have before?
We had a 2009 new holland. we have lots of videos with that from last year’s harvest.
Should have got a honey bee header
This header was really discounted because it was the demo header so we just got this one and it’s doing great
@@RockyMountainFarmer Hopefully it keeps working for you guys. 👍🏻 It’s cool to see a class 9 combine around here in Idaho. Most are class 7 or maybe 8.
Yeah it’s pretty awesome to see work
Why didn’t you want the tracks on it?
This was the demo so we got what they had
Price ?
I know they are around $700000 new but since this was a demo it was much less.
Congrats on the new German machinery. I bet everyone wants a turn eh?
Just so you know, Fendt is owned by Agco, which is an American company and they’re built all over the world, but not in Germany their combines actually built in Italy. But yeah, everybody wants to try and run it.
Are the guys on your farm related?
Yall look like relatives.
It is a family farm, so that makes sense. Josh is a brother-in-law Trevor is just a local guy we hired. And Christopher and I are brothers.
Is that a 40 foot head and if so, why not a 50-?
This was the header that was used in the demo so that’s the one we bought it was discounted. I’m sure you could put a 50 foot on this but you would have to go a little bit slower so I don’t know how much more you would accomplish.
Wider is not better. The right width for the machine, the terrain, the access. That is what makes it the right header.
Enjoyed the drone shots at the end and music….nicely done!
Congrats on the new machine. Zero Fendt anything in my area. Speed is a little deceiving picking up another 10' of header. Need semis and a cart to keep up with it.
Bummer about the Pete. Those double wall frames are such a shit design. You may have been able to see the crack start on the very bottom.... and that's a big maybe. Bet you guys look them all over pretty close from here on out regardless.
Keep up the good work.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the comment
Was this a gift to yourself to make you feel better about that Peterbilt tipping over? That poor truck 😥
Yeah, we didn’t expect the Peterbilt to tip over but looking at the crack it looks like it had been cracked for a while so it was only a matter of time, but our old combine we had last year would never be able to do as many acres as we have this year so we had to upgrade. didn’t really have a choice
@@RockyMountainFarmer Yeah that frame has been on the way out for a while. Grateful it happened there. Now you thoroughly inspect frames annually. Probably a write off.
I wondered if you truck your own grain or had it hauled. Where does it get hauled to?
So we have a local company that hauls it in to the grain mill directly
@@RockyMountainFarmer do they take it to IF or just to Shelly?
You lost 10,000 sacks of potatoes. What would have been your gross income from that loss?
It would’ve been a little over $100,000
@@RockyMountainFarmer WOW!!!!
