I think this is when Walter starts to realize that he isn’t the smartest guy in the room anymore, and he no longer is in control of his situation.

This is also probably where he decides to aim to get Gus killed probably or atleast consider him a threat
I think one of the most badass underrated lines Gus says is:
"I'm sure they'll be fine. I am told the assassin that survived is gravely injured. It's doubtful he'll live. Now thank me and shake my hand."
The way he says that last part is beautiful. Gus is a badass, and can be truly terrifying even with softly spoken words.
The way the twin crawls wanting to go to Walter is so badass, so intersected with the ritual moment at the beginning of the season, going to the satanic oratory.
Was it satanic or was it a screwed-up version of catholicism?
I really do like this episode. We get to see a bit more of Gus and his capabilities, and also it has one of my personal favorite scenes of Jesse just messing around in the lab. Pretty good stuff!
The writers of this show are masters of the ‘show, don’t tell’ principle. For example, that favorite scene of yours where they’re in the hospital, informs the viewers of so many different dynamics happening, without any type of exposition-dumps.
I always feel really bad for Gale, he did everything right and got screwed over by Walter anyway. He really thought he had a friend and mentor in Walt but in reality he meant very little to him.

to be fair, Jesse did try to take the cooking seriously, but then walt shit all over him as usual, only after that did jesse start screwing around.

@@ItsAPrimatee nah i mean he called up Walt and told him they had a schedule to keep and Walt basically just told him too bad, then Jesse said he'd do it himself and Walt was like hell no. I wish Walt would just have a little more faith in jesse and maybe if he did jesse wouldn't be such a "screwup". Walt did tell Jesse just the other episode that jesse's meth was as good as walt's so from jesse's perspective he's plenty qualified to cook on his own.
You can’t catch Gus slipping, he’s always 2 steps ahead.
Hank was hit in a FBI parking lot and NOT ONE agent ran to the fire! There were no exit wounds because they were shooting hollow points that spread on impact and catches so much of the material inside the body the bullet stops instead of going straight through...

Nah, the midway is between Kafkaesque and Fly. Fly is a really great midpoint for the show.
I'd think Jesse would be a suspect in at least knowing something about the hit since Hank had just attacked him (which provides motive)....and he had inexplicably just dropped the charges against him. (suspicious!). Jesse's car had been at Tuco's. Nope, nothing to see here! lol (Great episode though!)
Gomez couldn’t even believe that Jesse was able to fight off Tuco, so him having cartel connections would’ve been an inconceivable notion.

After Hank attacked Jesse, Jesse spent the entire time in a hospital bed. Hank gets attacked by the cartel and the police know it. Why would they suspect Jesse? If Jesse had not dropped the charges, Hank wouldn’t be in a jail cell. He would still be suspended and out and about. So, the cartel could have killed him anyway. In other words, Jesse’s dropping the charges had no effect on the cartel’s ability to kill Hank. Any thinking person wouldn’t suspect Jesse.

Hank getting shot isn't solely on Walter. It's not as simple as that. Nothing ever is.

People can romanticize Hank all day. But at the end of it, there's a lot of clout going around. And a lot of pride.

Ugh, just wait until the season 3 finale. This show is ridonkulous.
The whole Jesse playing around in the lab thing actually takes me out of the episode. It's just too much of old Jesse all at once. It doesn't add up. Jesse learned to take things serious and made Walter worthy meth. Now he basically turned into Badger overnight for the sake of this one plot point. This is the one misstep in an otherwise perfect show. It belittles Jesse's growth as a character and feels cheap. I honestly didn't buy it.
Ha! LOVE your intro! I said the same thing in the comments last week and I got all these butthurt Breaking Bad dweebs babbling at me. It's a great scene, I love it, but it's totally unrealistic, to the point of distraction. Two minutes in a supermarket parking lot in the middle of the day, give me a break. I'm happy to see these tedious characters off the show, they're so Hollywoody. You do a hit fast, you don't walk like two Frankensteins, especially in a crowded public space in broad daylight, with no disguises. The show has kept getting better and better, as you can see, but the brothers are my least favorite characters of the whole series.
