My dad used to live in Ridgecrest up the road from there in the 80's and we would drive up this road (395) from San Bernadino [we met him there as a halfway point in San Berdo from where we lived in San Diego] and we used to LOVE stopping at the Astro Burger at Kramer's Junction/Four Corners. It was like an old space age Cold War relic. Sorry to see it closed! I think they filmed some scenes from the movie Paris, Texas somewhere around there. I could be wrong about the exact filming location. Anyway, I remember Kramer's Junction and the Astro Burger like it was yesterday even though it was in the 80's!

I remember when that Arco gas station was a thriving business full of customers. I would usually stop there for a snack and a cold drink on the way to Las Vegas.

The ARCO closed because of the new freeway bypass. Even if someone chooses to exit at Kramer Junction (AKA Four Corners), ARCO is no longer conveniently located. The freeway means its no longer a junction.

Believe it or not I may just retire to this area, in Edwards. Thanks for the video.

I met the love of my life in this place in May 1967. Kris Smith was her name. Anyone ever know what happened to her? Used to know a Dennis Darr who lived in his Daddys motel called Darrs Motel back then too.

They should have kept it to help with the homeless crisis we have in SoCal. a whole city, cafe, rooms and recreation center...in addition to educational and skill-development areas. Lost opportunity.
