going so slowly in the dining room was absolutely the worst part 😩
The ice cream and coffee machines should be in the dining room to make it a shorter distance to grab and take to the tables
Good run Rik! When you first got larger groups, it actually decreased the NUMBER of groups so it's roughly the same number of customers. So your 5/5/2 table setup would probably have worked great!

In the franchise, his first day expected 1, I mean *1,* group.
I would have made it a 4/4/3 setup. Just a little easier to move around
I was even starting to feel stressed by the franchise. Keep the episodes coming! It is soo much fun to watch you play PlateUp.
Some suggestions, that might make it easier in single player. You can also take the counters at the window away and put a table right on the other side. Much easier to serve the customers and also sedated atmosphere would not affect you since they are in another room. If you don't have sedated atmosphere you could also just put your kitchen in the dining room to be closer to the tables and not have to walk so far.
When you went from the first restaurant and you saw all the cards I think you could have selected what cards you wanted and what cards you wanted to get rid of meaning you could have gotten rid of running slower near costumers or you could have gotten rid of larger group sizes
He couldn't, unfortunately, because he only had 5 cards. He needed all five for a franchise. You can only discard cards when you get further into a run and have a surplus of cards so you can discard down to five.
@@BeaSDT I’m not sure if the food card counted, but if it did then there were six.
@@matthewlyons6544 If you mean the Fish base card, even though it does show later at 9:10, you can see at 8:35 that it doesn't show amongst the others when you are picking which to select, so you can't do anything about that. If you are counting the Tier 1 Franchise card, it must stay selected so the game also doesn't count that one. It needs five cards from the upgrades you pick as you advance rating and, of those, there were only five. Maybe next time Rik will get more choice.

I have to admit, I'll miss you on the regular Stumpt channel. Your style & patented "Oh God!" will leave a void in the group's dynamic.

Another idea is to put items like the icecream machine or coffee machine on the floor of the restaurant instead in the "dish pit" room. You can even put the entire kitchen (the oven/hob/produce/counters) out in the main diningroom in the early days of the restaurant when there aren't very many tables to save steps and serve customers faster. Not going around the wall to serve from the window is huge in 1 player.
You are killing the editing by the way and congrats on finding a work life balance while still producing all this great content.
At the start of the days, you need to think more about the distances you need to travel rather than the perceived aesthetics. You have 3 rooms, not a "kitchen", "utility closet" and "dining room"; there's nothing stopping you from putting everything in one room. This gets rid of the delays moving between the rooms as well as reduces the travel distances; this is especially necessary when you're running the card that makes you move slower in the "dining room".
Also, don't forget to leverage angles. You can access the counters on the diagonal through the pass-through. You can use any appliance/counter/table to help you reach them easier if needed.
0:28 Rik just dodged a bullet. Because if he accused the crab cakes as glitch like the other 4 Stumpt members, I would be carrying my pitch folk. The fish of the day mechanic is not a glitch. 2 seafood are selected randomly to appear from your available seafood dish pool.
I can see how it's confusing though because in literally all the other levels they've done, if a new dish was added, either as a side, a starter or a main dish, it was always added as another option and not replacing any of the previous options. And since the crab cakes didn't appear in the level just after they got them, it became even more confusing.
Rik, you don't have to take all the cards from the franchise run, you can deselect them!

@@StumptRik Unfortunately, this was not true. You have to select 5 cards for a franchise and you only had 5, so you couldn't discard any.

So the Tie stands for "Formal" but it does help with mess! Tier 1 is decreased mess and Tier 3 is No Mess

The slow walking was really killer.
It does also seem like if you have to have the food from your franchise, best bet may be to select the same food if possible to give you less options to juggle
I found out that you can’t do that! It forces you to choose a different entree
Veggie pie wouldn't sound so bad if it was like, chicken pot pie minus the chicken. Like, peas & carrots & celery & potatoes? Maybe some broccoli or cauliflower? That sounds good! The real question would be in the type of gravy. That could make or break the dish...
Loving these episodes! Single player seems super stressful and rewarding. Being able to hire employees would be interesting, though they could get in the way just like customers do.

Since every good thing in this game seems to be nerfed in the same manner XD
Like, for example, the safety hob can't burn or set fire to the area but is extremely slow as a con.
The floor buffer is amazing for speed and efficiency at walking around but has a considerably small lifespan on the floors.
That kind of thing.
So an AI-controlled help that could get in the way unless you have a wide kitchen could also be a just as good con as every good thing in this game had XD
Bonus points if they walk slow like the customers and don't sprint like the players.
This game looks so hard! Definitely more enjoyable to watch you play than try playing it myself. So a big thanks to you, sir!

I'd choose the crab cake because I saw at the main stumpt channel it substitutes the blue fish. So it doesn't add up the type of main dish you have to serve in a day.
Hi Rik ! You may have tried it already, but I believe you can choose which card you keep when you create you franchise. It looked as though the first one was mandatory, so you probably can de-select the rest ? Worth a try when you get at that point again !

And I don't think u should get sedate atmosphere which is the one where players walk slower when in the same room as customers and I think maybe u should get a ordering terminal
