- Every once in a while I play a guitar that just shocks me, this one has done that, I didn't know Martin built anything in the 50s that could hold its own with the best 1930s D-28s I've played but this 53 has done just that. This one is a rare bird in that it has a Red Spruce or Adirondack Spruce top and Brazilian Rosewood. Many of the 1953 models are known to have Engelmann Spruce tops but this one was varified to indeed be Red Spruce. Tough to beat 70 plus years of Red Spruce and Brazilian Rosewood in a well built Martin!
Wow! The bloominess of the trebles!
Very soothing sounding guitar
Metallic bright tone
👍👍
What strings were used here Bobby? Is that a BC TAD-3R-60?
@@billdedrick1914 Yes sir blue chip TAD-3R 60s with the rounded bevels for the pick which is my go to and D’Addario XS Mediums PBs on it for the strings. This one is one of the top 2 or 3 dreadnoughts I’ve ever owned or played.
@@RockinB23 Sounds incredible.. you like the XS pb.? Do you like better than the Martin MA550T p.b. strings?
I'll give you $100 CASH for it right now no questions asked!
