Novelty bias, but this feels like your best video yet. Watching you play with and be with your kids at home while you train/workout/eat/live is really heartwarming stuff. I'm training for my first marathon in 13 weeks, and I'm getting a lot of knowledge, motivation, encouragement, confirmation, and overall value from your videos.
@flobergruns glad you show that balance showing the fam and all that. Im married with 3 kids, mom in law living with me, working remotely and two of the kids homeschool. To say that it has been tough to make time for more than 25 miles a week is an understatement. I have Marathon 3 (Marine Corps Marathon #2) coming up in October, and my 1st 50K in December. Makes for interesting days.
One of my favourite videos of yours so far, and I've been a follower for a while. I loved the emphasis on repetition here-the same exercises, the same meals, the same routine for your run days. Reminds me of a similar point you've made in the past of embracing monotony with those 11mi easy runs every other day. I am so pumped to see your times in races to come, I know you're going to crush all the goals you've set for yourself.
Love the nutrition talk, would love some more of that. Video was perfect entertainment for my indoor bike session, made it a lot more bearable being injured with runner’s knee 😊
@@flobergruns For sure does! Would you coach someone coming back from an injury for a Half-Marathon, or would you prefer non injured runners signing up for the coaching? 😅
@@flobergruns Awesome, going to be gunning for a spot then! Would love to work with a coach, been really stagnent in my running, and really want to improve. Have been loving all of your content, I love to take pictures on my runs, so I enjoy the film work too ;)
Love the stuff on group running. I need to do more of this. I'm no expert on lifting, but I'd be benching inside the rack with the safety arms, when you're on your own. Failing and being trapped under a bar is no joke! Love your stuff man.
If your coaching includes taking Liquid IV powder along on race day to dump in cups, then I'm in. Inspirational as always Eric. Still going to put in my plug for running Bayshore! :) Come to Traverse City!
Great video! We had the twilight 5000 come to okc last night. I definitely see what all the hype is about. As a dad of 3 and pushing towards one day boston I Want to say thank you and hopefully one day shake your hand man🤟🏾
This might be my favourite video of you 🥹 it’s “just a training week” but the story telling, emotions, camera & editing work + the in-depth stuff about nutrition etc! Bro this fires me up!! I’m running for half a year consistently rn and I’m slowly building up my mileage, ran my first half in spring, now chasing a sub 50 10k and then gonna switch to my first marathon build for fall! I love seing your journey and I’m so excited for what’s ahead! Keep crushing it ⚡️❤️
Anyway you can do a video discussing your PTT journey? I’ve recently developed it about a week ago and it would be great to know how you’ve managed it as a marathon runner.
Absolutely not a roast, but you could lower the bench press in a more controlled manner. Since it doesn't really matter what the reps are (it's not the NFL combine), that's another way to target a few more small muscles
Awesome video. Here’s your roast on your kettlebell swings. It needs to come from the hips. It’s not an arm exercise. Soft knees the whole time, hinge at the hips (stick your butt out) and try and get the kettlebell to hit your tailbone (it won’t). Push the kettlebell from underneath, behind you, forward with your hips. You’re not lifting it with your arms, rather, guiding it in an arc. Oh, also, lats engaged so your back is straight. You should kind of look like one of those desktop birds that dips its beak into the water.
Psh, 64 mile week... let me tell you about my 6.4 mile week 😂 Dude, figuring out running as a business owner with a 10 month old has been wild. ONE, 10 month old... Don't know how you rock it with 4 kids, homie. Frekain' beast. Keep crushing it brother 🤘🏼
So I’m currently training for a marathon in October. I failed my first marathon due to an injury. Are you looking to take on people who are like more pro intermediate or would this be something for like beginner/intermediate. Super excited about the content!
Yeah, it's usually a dull pain all the time haha - it especially hurts today after my 16 mile long run. Gotta be on that disc regularly this whole summer into the fall as I go for faster times. I never run on it if it ever results in sharp pains while running or crosses the 4/10 threshold of pain.
So freakingggg hype by this opportunity you offer us ! As I'm french i will be accepted if i'm part of the 30 athletes ? Ps : I'm completely able to express myself and listen English ! This summer will be incredibly i feel it
From a Strenght And Conditioning Coach you should start doing more heavy lifting (5rm and up) for your lower body, its better for running economy. Half Squat, Step Up , Sl RDL and Max ISO Holds for Calves!! Keep the good work 💪
Strengthening muscles around the knee as well as all other muscles in the leg that normally don't see/feel that motion, since I'm constantly going forward. Gonna start doing it with the treadmill off now.
Stupid question (I'm from the UK), are you allowed to run on the roads in the USA? I'm coming to Chicago next week, would love to run a few bits of the marathon. 👍
Yup! More resistance, haven't had enough time of doing to notice how I feel, but I've been making tons of changes this week with active recovery, food, and sleep & just feeling so much better overall.
Not a stupid question! You're technically not supposed to, but if you run the Chicago course super early, there are barely any cars on the road, so I typically just run in the bike lane on the left side of the road. :)
Dude loved the group run portion of this. It's so much more than just running. Couldn't stop smiling! Keep it up dude!
Yeah, I was smiling ear to ear while editing that part. Glad it left the same impression on you :)
Setting goals, making memories with the family, enjoying the journey! This is what it is all about!

So good to hear :) I'm always hoping that these longer ones provide some entertainment for bike/treadmill days for a lot of people!
@@flobergruns For sure does! Would you coach someone coming back from an injury for a Half-Marathon, or would you prefer non injured runners signing up for the coaching? 😅
You can still sign up! Just want to make sure you're feeling you get the value you want!

Starting your own run crew/coaching is a HUGE next step-really awesome, Eric! Keep crushing it 🤘🏻
15:14 quite unexpected. Love every bit of moment Eric, you have a beautiful people surrounding you 😇
@flobergruns glad you kept in that part where you slipped off the treadmill. You kept it a buck when you did that!
Love to see the excitement! It’s contagious brother
Solid week of training! I just started really consistently running with a friend and it’s made a world of difference!

Great tip on the PTT. It's been plaguing me for over a year.
Keep taking care of it and don't let the pain ever get over a 4/10 when running!
Loving these weekly training videos!! I SEE YOU WITH ALL THE BENCHING AND CROSS TRAINING🤘🏼
Maine east had great fireworks! I went to Maine West and remember going with buddies when I was in high school.
I'm only 50 seconds in and loving this video. That treadmill dismount!
David grey rehab has an amazing foot/ankle course particularly for combatting posterior tibial tendonitis.
Watching you play ball in the house. I'm waiting for a lamp to break. Or someone to start shouting "NOT IN THE HOUSE!"
kids got a cannon
The tibia is the bigger of the two shin bones and it is what people typically call the shin :)

Have a 16 week half marathon in week and I havent ran in like 7 months and before that, I ran a HM in like 2:42, so hoping to get down to like 2
Nice to see the last 13.1 of Chicago. Heading over from England this year 🤟. Sub 2:40 for me hopefully 🤞
Let's go!! Hope you absolutely smash it!!
@@flobergruns Cheers bud. If I'm in the same starting wave I'll pop over and say hello 👊

Aw man - Thanks for watching! Can't wait for our Twilight night! Gonna be a blast!!
My guy please have someone show you how to do a kettlebell swing before you destroy your low back
Noted.

Hey man, mind sharing your single leg stability workouts you do as part of training
Love the video. Your family is too cute!
Chicago is easily the next big one I wanna run! i see you hitting chest day like a boss 🤘

If I had half the aerobic endurance of my toddler I’d be chuffed
For the kettlebell swings, try to drive with your glutes rather then pulling up with your back
Great videos! I’m interested in the training program. What is your coaching background and which methods do you base your program off of?
What’s the name of the song @2:00?
The first 13.1 of Chicago is spectacular. The second half is a lot of desolate miles.
This is giving Seth James DeMoor vibes, in a really good way.
Curious - what coaching certifications do you have?
Does your post tib still hurt right after waking up? How long have you had it?
Yeah, it's usually a dull pain all the time haha - it especially hurts today after my 16 mile long run. Gotta be on that disc regularly this whole summer into the fall as I go for faster times. I never run on it if it ever results in sharp pains while running or crosses the 4/10 threshold of pain.

Recommendations for a good (but relatively inexpensive) handheld bottle?
Bro you listen to bleachers?? That’s crazy haha one of my favorite bands, saw them back in 2018. They were great!
Falling getting of the treadmill cmon man… lol

Living in MS where is 97 but feels like is 120, I envy your 80! 😂
come run with us at 3run2 brother!! we'd love to have ya
Please consider having your wife spot the bench press. No dying during training allowed.
No clips, and I’m not doing more than my body weight, so we’re good 👍🏼
What hat are you running in? Looking for a new running hat. Any recommendations?
I run in a lot of hats from Ciele. Otherwise, any hats that BPN makes. :)
What is the backwards walking for?
Strengthening muscles around the knee as well as all other muscles in the leg that normally don't see/feel that motion, since I'm constantly going forward. Gonna start doing it with the treadmill off now.
Treadmill off for more resistance? Do you notice a difference in how you feel?
Stupid question (I'm from the UK), are you allowed to run on the roads in the USA? I'm coming to Chicago next week, would love to run a few bits of the marathon. 👍

I’ll probably get downvoted but do you have any coaching credentials or training?
lmao falling off the treadmill 😂
oops
just as they were talking about Athing Mu too, kinda on the nose there haha
Damn guessing it’s too late just registered today? 😢
Bleachers is good running music!!
The best.
Bleachers new album is the best!! 🎸🔥
So jealous of your home gym.
If you can swing it, I highly recommend saving up and making it happen. It’s been transformative for our lives as a family. ❤️
