I hope the important points of the agreement be made to the public (for purposes of transparency). Further, I also hope that the Philippine negotiating panel will not give-up our rights to repair and strengthen BRP Sierra Madre, and build civilian facilities in Ayungin Shoal (a PCG lighthouse maybe?).
Facing a powerful China, the Philippines had to make compromises. If the agreement was made to the public, the opposition party would certainly incite nationalist sentiment in the Philippines, forcing the Philippine government to abandon the agreement or even take a tougher stance. That’s how the war broke out.

The South China Sea dispute between China and the Philippines was not submitted to the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea. Under the provisions of Annex VII of the UNCLOS, the Philippines initiated arbitration proceedings. Section 2 of Chapter 15 of the UNCLOS stipulates that a country has the right to declare its choice of one or more "compulsory procedures that can issue binding awards" including the International Court of Justice, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea and Annex VII arbitration. China has not yet made a choice . At the same time, China has declared that it will not accept arbitration proposed by the Philippines. The entire arbitration process was paid for by the Philippine government, and China did not participate. Therefore, this so-called arbitration is illegal.
More realistically, all international treaties and laws cannot bind the five permanent members of the UN Security Council.
Ang resupply mission ay isang Military operation. Hindi na sakop ng jurisdiction ng UNCLOS.
Be carefull with the wordings in the agreements , that seems the Pilippines will ask permission during resupply mission. Chinese is very clever so we should review carefully the exact wordings of the

The nerve of China to tell PH to ask permission from them every time the PH will conduct resupply mission to BRP. China was the one who encroached the island they occupied along WPS unless China will admit that the island they occupied was sold to them by past PH Administration. Well, this is the repercussion after the PH past administration ousted the US Military Bases from PH, otherwise China wont have the guts of occupying aforesaid island in disputes. Past PH Administration lacked of FORESIGHT.

This agreement is not different from the agreement reached between China and President Duterte. President Marcos also agreed to this agreement when he first took office. However, in order to protect his family's assets of more than 10 billion US dollars frozen in the United States, President Marcos chose to follow the instructions of the Americans and not only violated the agreement, but also provided more military bases for the United States and allowed the United States to deploy medium-range ballistic missiles.

Just don't agree to ask permission from China to resupply BRP Sierrra Madre, as if it is their territory. It is within Philippines EEZ. The Philippines has sovereign rights over 200 nautical miles of Exclusive Economic Zone. China's nine-dash line claim was already invalidated by UNCLOS arbitration court.

FYI no amount of agreement will be made thru verbal or phone call it is not proper to do that between two countries. Agreement will be made thru official Bilateral between 2 countries and shall be written in a paper for record purposes. So there is no dishonored in the PAST for alleged gentleman aggrement or whatsoever.

With all due respect, Sec. Gibo should rethink the country's recent moves in the context of China's Art of War tactics. China knew that US is close to involving itself to West Philippine Sea pushback in support of the Philippines. While we want to avert the likelihood of war, be it noted that Chinese forces are now in Philippine doorsteps. Unless China falls back or better pulls out, we should not make these deceptive agreements with China that is only meant to further their invasive actions.
