Yes, but it also made me think about how much I love Survivor. The last few seasons minus 40 have been pretty awful, to the point where I had thought about not watching anymore. But not having a S41 made me so thankful for what we did have. Survivor has provided an entire generation of some of the best TV ever produced.

The voting scene when Boston Rob speaks to Natalie, and says "I told you, if you make it back, you'd have to play a perfect game... you almost did... *Flips Tony's name "you should've taken this guy out." . That stands out the most.
Kinda makes me wonder if Natalie making fire and beating Tony would’ve made rob Vote for her. I would hope not because someone coming back from the edge and winning would be awful
@davidwagner5583 Besides the mistake of not getting Tony out, Natalie's game was beautiful. Because of the fire tokens, she was still earning her spot at every step. She worked her ASS off on EoE, winning the challenges for fire tokens, gathering information, giving advantages to the right people, lying about what she has, and, of course, winning the duel to get back in before finding two immunity idols, playing them, and winning the final immunity challenge. If anyone else had come back from EoE that season and won, it definitely would have sucked, but Natalie's story of being voted out first and still making it to the end was amazing, especially since it mirrored her story of sister getting voted out first on the season she won. She really should have gone against Tony, because that would have been a legendary game and she totally would have deserved that win.
@@MDaggatt I think Natalie played a great edge game, but not a great survivor game. She couldn't even survive the first vote which is huge. Plus, she isolated herself from some people on the Edge, so she definitely could've played a better edge game. I don't think she would've deserved the win even with Tony out. I don't think she would have deserved to beat Sarah or even Michele in my opinion.
Once again, if I was at that tribal, I would have insisted that Jeff throw the podium into the fire, like he does any other fake idol that gets played. Thems are the rules Jeff, you're going to have to say goodbye to your prop.
This would be hilarious, but not all fake idols are thrown into the fire anymore, which is why on ghost island there was one that came back as “cursed item,” I think it was Jays from MvGX

Moment that gave me legit chills. Rob: I'm standing here so grateful for this game, because here are three little girls that wouldn't even exist without Survivor.
This may be the Michele-stan coming out, but her winning the same Puzzle twice (and kicking it down twice) will forever be iconic to me especially because everyone else had such a HUGE lead. Everyone knows the Ozzy Challenge (Hanging on the Pole) and the Parvati Challenge (Hands Over Head to Hold Water), and I think this solidified that puzzle as the Michele-puzzle which is pretty dope. Also, the post Jeremy blindside with Michele was also pretty iconic with how she read Sarah for filth and won immunity (to which no one clapped- a super rare occurrence that is very telling).
Maybe I’m just a hater but I find Michele a very frustrating player bc she clearly has the head for the game but she doesn’t seem to be able to pull the trigger when she needs to. Like in WaW especially during the end it felt like there were like 3 votes in a row where she would say this is what I need to do and it was the right move but she just didn’t do it
@@jackrippeyoung9019 I think WaW is a very interesting game cause they were all winners and I think we can break their games into two, very BROAD, categories: Top-Dog and Under-dog. Michele was one of the few winners in WaW to win their initial season as an "underdog" (with a lot of grey area). I think towards the end, with a majority of the jury being Top-dogs, it was hard to really understand how hard she fought and it's a big reason why a majority of the players who were willing to vote for her were Underdogs their season. That being said, to your initial point, I think Michele played it right- I scratch your back and you scratch mine. Meaning to gain social capital, she was willing to do a move that wasn't REALLY bad for her in exchange for capital moving forward. However, they game shifted so quickly with EoE Advantages and Idols, that her social capital basically reset to zero the following round (same with everyone). However, the bonds she made by doing what she allowed her to survive as far as she did- and when it couldn't help her any further she won the immunity challenges she needed to. I also would like to say- other players own faults (i.e Nick and Jeremy who was too fixated on Meat Shields), aren't hers and she can only do so much for other players making errors. She made it to end, and they didn't so she obviously knew what she was doing to survive. Overall, she deserved some votes but I'm glad a good portion of the fan base finally see what a strong group saw in KR.
Michele winning not one but two clutch immunities was absolutely amazing. I don’t think I have ever jumped out of my seat while watching Survivor until that happened
I swear I watched that trailer about a thousand times from the second it came out until that first episode. To me, this was probably the best season of all time just because of the stakes.
my fav was a secret scene between kim and sarah where sarah has a breakdown feeling like a terrible person and kim comforts her and kind of coaches her through it telling her she’s a good person. it shows how even in a battle for 2 million, they’re still in this struggle with one another
You only get that with an all winners cast. They ALL know what it takes to win and respect everyone else because they all have gotten to the end. They know how hard the game is mentally and the things you need to do to survive.
Sarah and Tony are two of my favorite players, from my favorite seasons, who both became winners of the game and champions in their own right. I loved them from the moment Sarah called Tony out as a cop. Seeing them forced into eliminating the other one in the biggest season in Survivor history was brutal. Just another fantastic moment from the best season yet
So True! I was amazed that everybody did that! It just shows how Boston Rob is a Incredible Player! Let’s face it, he was the biggest threat in the entire season and he made it quite far! People were more scared of him then Sandra! That says something.

Sure, but unlike the HvV double idol play, I felt this one served no purpose. To blindside the woman who tried to help you out, it just felt mean, where as the HvV one was smart and strategic. Voting of one of the other guys would've been so much more beneficial for Denise.

After all, Sandra has 0 allegiance to Parvati after and even tries to target Russell immediately trying to get Candice to not flip.

The purpose it served was to keep the numbers in the villains tribe. Because up until that point Sandra at least made it seem that she would vote with the Villains.

She used the information with Amanda to make sure the heroes wouldnt vote for her, throws the challenge to danielle as well as knowing that the heroes won't vote for Russell. Thus, she knew it would be a guarantee that JT goes home if she uses both. And if her bluffing with Amanda didn't work and the heroes still voted for Parvati, Russell is the only villain vulnerable in a potential rock draw against 4 heroes
I honestly don't get why everyone laughed at Adam and treated his move as a joke. Other seasons of Survivor have had idols hidden at tribal council. Heck, we've had idols hidden at camp in plain sight like in China. The podium fluer-de-lis being an idol totally fits in with that mindset. I commend Adam and I suspect that one day (not soon) the producers will put an idol at tribal either on Jeff's podium or in the voting booth.
I don’t think anyone was laughing at him-they were laughing at the situation. Hell, as he was trying to play the podium, everyone else looked nervous. It was a good idea even if it didn’t pay off.
It was genuinely a funny moment but you’re absolutely correct, that would have been an insane play by Adam if it had actually been an idol. You just know Jeff was kicking himself for not thinking of the idea and I wouldn’t be surprised at all of an idol at tribal council appears in a future season.
@@noahs5636 I read an interview with Probst about that moment. He said he doesn’t want idols hidden at tribal council because people would tear the set apart looking for one every season after. Not saying the show wouldn’t do it (was it South Africa that did it?), but they know what can of worms is opened if they do.
The Amazing Race needs to do something like this; have a Season where 16 winning teams return, have 13 Legs, have a team eliminated each leg, and have the team that comes in 1st on the 13th leg win $2 million to see which is the best winning team.
I got to say for me, Michele's story in the last few episodes of always being in the minority and by some miracle always managing to wiggle here way to the next few days was one of the best storylines that didn't get enough time in the episodes. I felt like this season managed to shut up any hate she got after Kaoh Rong and she got to show why she is such a great player.
Underrated moment: Ben telling Sarah it was okay for her to vote him out because he knew he wasn't going to win and wanted a friend to win over Natalie
But what's sad as noble as his intentions are, Sarah's odds would have been better had they just stuck with the plan and voted out Michelle. If Michelle was gone, after Nat wins the next immunity, she likely takes Sarah with her to the finals instead, and Ben more than likely beats Tony at fire. In a final three between Nat, Ben, and Sarah, Sarah wins.
Tony to me is the greatest player and character to ever play the game. Nobody does it like tony, from his confessionals to his insane idol plays to insane social manipulation and vote flips to now crazy immunity wins to iconic meme moments. He’s just the king, no other way to describe it.
I couldn’t believe he got away with everything he did in his first season. He constantly went against his alliance the first season and they were so quick to forgive. Nobody was fooled his second season though. However, his gameplay in the third season was masterful. He was wise to stay under the radar at the start, and let the real Tony emerge so slowly nobody noticed.
Never have I cried watching survivor But S40 the fire making challenge and Tony n Sarah afterwords really really got me, mainly cause Cagayan was my first season I guess
Sarah demanding to be called Lacina as a sign of respect was great... Michele playing a great social game, winning immunity challenges and going the distance only to receive 0 votes at final tribal council was heartbreaking.
I agree, i think Natalie kicked butt on the edge, but it was just that: the edge. She didn’t kick but on survivor. Tony was clearly the winner but Michele should’ve gotten the four votes that Natalie got
My favorite moment in season 40 and probably one of my favorite moments ever is Sarah and Tony's story and its end with the fire challenge. Just... Shows how much it means to them. Plus all the stories coming to an end. The prfection of that montage about it in this video. Yul is my favorite winner, and hearing about his story coming to a finish and him still being friends with Penner was amazing.
How about when my girl Michele was told repeatedly that she's the next to go and a bad player, and she fought all the way, being one of few winners to make it to the end twice, and never getting voted out. That whole episode when she won her first immunity, I was so proud of her!
I feel like this is the perfect season to make the episode longer, emphasize in interactions between the players (bring back one world twist) and include more of camp life. Also it sucks that we didnt get live reunion this season
That intro LMAO Let's be honest. Watching the trailer for this last year for the first time was exactly what Tony said: the Superbowl of Survivor. It was epic. :D
Not that this hasn't already been discussed by tons of fans already, but I just think it's amazing how Survivor's editors managed to turn Michele's reputation around so well. For more casual fans, she was the unfavored winner of season's past, but this season single-handedly turned her into the scrappy underdog we've all come to love. I've loved her since Kâoh Rōng, so seeing her portrayed so humorously (I wouldn't say greatly, she did have a fair amount of blunders in-game) this season was great. Not a single moment, but really Michele's presence throughout this season of fighting from the bottom and seeing how some of her gameplay actually works really made her a great and lovable on-screen character. And of course, she's great off the show too!
To the editors' credit, I did think this season had a really great amount of character-building scenes and segments (i.e. that seemingly out-of-place fashion show, Jeremy and Tony's squabble about firefighters' and cops' sense of time, etc.), which I can't say for a lot of modern-day, hyper-strategic Survivor. It really made the season stand out among the contemporary of distinctly meta gameplay. You could tell the crew and team behind the scenes wanted to give each winner (give or take) the respect they deserve.
Can you please do a video that talks about the loved ones visit. I always thought that it was a good idea to throw it because you instantly piss off half the tribe while showing who you were close with. I would love to see the statistics on how the winner of that challenge finished the season.

She deffinately didn't get swap screwed worse than Aaron in China Or Michelle from Fiji Or Jackie from Gabon Or Tegan in Austalian Survivor 2016 People get swapped. It's part of the game. Either you can navigate getting swapped into a minority (like Davey in David vs Goliath) or you can't.

Winners At War was such a Fantastic season! Tony is definitely one of the greatest if not the greatest players to ever play! His game was Amazing! Michele should have gotten second place if you ask me. She is extremely underrated. Michele is also one of the greatest players ever! It was sad to see some legends blindsided early like Boston Rob, Yul, and Parvati! This was a great video that covered just a few of the many great moments from a spectacular season!
This video really highlights why this season would've been the perfect series finale. As much as I love Survivor, bowing out with an all-winners season, on a nice round number like 40, would've been absolutely perfect.
The elimination of Sophie will always make me hiss through my teeth. I totally wanted and thought this was going to be her, Sarah, and one other as final three. And as I saw the names being read, it was like seeing my prediction catch on total fire. I love it though.
Sophie's whole game was just so iconic to me, I still wish she would've won so badly... If Tony didn't get paranoid at the last minute she probably would've swept the whole game 😭
With Tony being my favourite winner (before this season) this is one of my favourite seasons of all time. Seeing all these legends and some that I had not seen play live was incredible. I wish the boot order was a little different but I love this season. I'm glad this was the one before the huge break.
-Yul being the puppet master from the middle with sophie, nick and Wendell. "We'll control the game" - Tony saying "i have been patient, now its time for me to start playing my game" - Rob coming to Jeremy with "i know your plan" aggressive game and Jeremy instantly countering with, "that's not the plan" - Kim creating her army of 5 to go after Tony - Tony finding out about Kim's plan immediately going after her - Rob and Michelle's game where Rob says, "if u won it, you won it" - Michele telling Sarah that Tony is incharge and Sarah gives that look of doubt - Rob saying "Tony's a boss, Dude" - Tony and Sarah go back and forth about getting rid of denise - Tyson gives Tony the talk and Tony goes crazy - Kim misplaying her idol in that crazy voteout "gosh i almost did that" It was a really great season
Watching Sandra win survivor twice showed me that I as a 39yr old woman, a mother, a grandmother with limited physical strength and ability could not only play survivor but has the same chance as everyone else to win the game of survivor.
It was a bummer that we couldn’t get the reunion that this season deserved. I really hope when the show comes back that they start it with a reunion special. I’m sure it’s unlikely but one can dream, right? P.S.- The Tony blackmail disadvantage/Sophie blindside episode is the best I’ve ever seen. Granted, I’ve not seen about half of the seasons.
It was really disappointing that Michelle didn't recieve any votes to win. She's the best social player amongst all and that's what Survivor is all about. Nobody has better social skills than Michelle.
Sandra's vote off to me was the iconic moment of this season because it was so completely unexpected, but in hindsight I and Sandra should've seen it coming. If you have the biggest target on your back you have to imagine people would be looking for any excuse to be the one the vote you out.
Maybe in an early season of survivor sure, but at this point all of the fast paced, cut throat, demons of the night have played and this season pulled together all the biggest baddest of the bunch.
As my top 5 (not in chronological order): 5. All of the events of “This Is Extortion” (Tony’s idol, extortion disadvantage, Sophie blindside) 4. Denise blindsides Sandra using her own Hidden Immunity Idol 3. Natalie returns from the Edge of Extinction, the winners tell their stories 2. Tony and Sarah compete in a do-or-die fire making challenge 1. Tony is crowned as the ultimate champion of Survivor
Was Denise’s queen slayer move strategically sound? She had Sandra as a potential ally, she wasted her idol on Jeremy and she could’ve knocked out Tony. It was absolutely mind blowing but a strategic mistake.
I hope they film winners at war part 2, involving winners that weren't selected in the first one.That would be a decent way to end the show as a whole.
My favourite moment from the Edge was when the coconut challenge was already finished, and Rob was eliminated. But he still finished it out even after everyone else was done. It was very worthy of him

I know this may not be a popular season to do one on, but I think it would be a challenge to do a top 10 greatest moments of Survivor Fiji. I think this is an underrated season that could've been great if is wasn't for the haves/have not twist. I can think of 7 great moments off the top of my head with this one.
I didn't really miss having the intro for this season, but by the final episode I thought they were going to throw it in. I would've been hyped for it :/

I built three replicas of michele's puzzle and raced against my cousins. It took use 20-30 minutes to complete.

I loved them from the moment Sarah called Tony out as a cop. Seeing them forced into eliminating the other one in the biggest season in Survivor history was brutal. Just another fantastic moment from the best season yet

So True! I was amazed that everybody did that! It just shows how Boston Rob is a Incredible Player! Let’s face it, he was the biggest threat in the entire season and he made it quite far! People were more scared of him then Sandra! That says something.

She might not be the most strategic or strong player, but she is smart, plays a great social game and know how to keep herself alive. She is also one of the two players that has won twice. That does not happen by accident!
Denise’s double idol play was such a perfect mirror of Parvati’s double idol play in HvV. Both blind slides are iconic
Sure, but unlike the HvV double idol play, I felt this one served no purpose. To blindside the woman who tried to help you out, it just felt mean, where as the HvV one was smart and strategic. Voting of one of the other guys would've been so much more beneficial for Denise.
@@ariellee2329 Technically speaking, Parvati playing the idol on Sandra, while it made sense if she did not know that Jerri was the target, was also serving no purpose. After all, Sandra has 0 allegiance to Parvati after and even tries to target Russell immediately trying to get Candice to not flip.
@@chwaftka9775 I assume that was the case, right? She didn’t know who the target was and that’s why she used the idol on both Sandra and Jerri. The purpose it served was to keep the numbers in the villains tribe. Because up until that point Sandra at least made it seem that she would vote with the Villains.
@@chwaftka9775 the point of playing both idols was more than just not knowing who they would vote for. She used the information with Amanda to make sure the heroes wouldnt vote for her, throws the challenge to danielle as well as knowing that the heroes won't vote for Russell. Thus, she knew it would be a guarantee that JT goes home if she uses both. And if her bluffing with Amanda didn't work and the heroes still voted for Parvati, Russell is the only villain vulnerable in a potential rock draw against 4 heroes
And that double idol play is also a mirror of Ben's idol play.....
I honestly don't get why everyone laughed at Adam and treated his move as a joke. Other seasons of Survivor have had idols hidden at tribal council. Heck, we've had idols hidden at camp in plain sight like in China. The podium fluer-de-lis being an idol totally fits in with that mindset. I commend Adam and I suspect that one day (not soon) the producers will put an idol at tribal either on Jeff's podium or in the voting booth.
I don’t think anyone was laughing at him-they were laughing at the situation. Hell, as he was trying to play the podium, everyone else looked nervous. It was a good idea even if it didn’t pay off.
It was genuinely a funny moment but you’re absolutely correct, that would have been an insane play by Adam if it had actually been an idol. You just know Jeff was kicking himself for not thinking of the idea and I wouldn’t be surprised at all of an idol at tribal council appears in a future season.
@@noahs5636 I read an interview with Probst about that moment. He said he doesn’t want idols hidden at tribal council because people would tear the set apart looking for one every season after. Not saying the show wouldn’t do it (was it South Africa that did it?), but they know what can of worms is opened if they do.
This is by far my favorite season of survivor. I know there's gonna be a season 41 but winners at war would be a perfect final season

The Amazing Race needs to do something like this; have a Season where 16 winning teams return, have 13 Legs, have a team eliminated each leg, and have the team that comes in 1st on the 13th leg win $2 million to see which is the best winning team.
The closest they got was the reality showdown where the winners were wll deserved like Tony
I got to say for me, Michele's story in the last few episodes of always being in the minority and by some miracle always managing to wiggle here way to the next few days was one of the best storylines that didn't get enough time in the episodes. I felt like this season managed to shut up any hate she got after Kaoh Rong and she got to show why she is such a great player.

Underrated moment: Ben telling Sarah it was okay for her to vote him out because he knew he wasn't going to win and wanted a friend to win over Natalie

But what's sad as noble as his intentions are, Sarah's odds would have been better had they just stuck with the plan and voted out Michelle.
If Michelle was gone, after Nat wins the next immunity, she likely takes Sarah with her to the finals instead, and Ben more than likely beats Tony at fire.

Tony to me is the greatest player and character to ever play the game. Nobody does it like tony, from his confessionals to his insane idol plays to insane social manipulation and vote flips to now crazy immunity wins to iconic meme moments. He’s just the king, no other way to describe it.
I couldn’t believe he got away with everything he did in his first season. He constantly went against his alliance the first season and they were so quick to forgive. Nobody was fooled his second season though. However, his gameplay in the third season was masterful. He was wise to stay under the radar at the start, and let the real Tony emerge so slowly nobody noticed.
His first season was a great performance and on winners at war he literally defeated all winners no one else can say that

Sarah demanding to be called Lacina as a sign of respect was great... Michele playing a great social game, winning immunity challenges and going the distance only to receive 0 votes at final tribal council was heartbreaking.

I agree, i think Natalie kicked butt on the edge, but it was just that: the edge. She didn’t kick but on survivor. Tony was clearly the winner but Michele should’ve gotten the four votes that Natalie got

My favorite moment in season 40 and probably one of my favorite moments ever is Sarah and Tony's story and its end with the fire challenge. Just... Shows how much it means to them.
Plus all the stories coming to an end. The prfection of that montage about it in this video. Yul is my favorite winner, and hearing about his story coming to a finish and him still being friends with Penner was amazing.
How about when my girl Michele was told repeatedly that she's the next to go and a bad player, and she fought all the way, being one of few winners to make it to the end twice, and never getting voted out. That whole episode when she won her first immunity, I was so proud of her!
I feel like this is the perfect season to make the episode longer, emphasize in interactions between the players (bring back one world twist) and include more of camp life. Also it sucks that we didnt get live reunion this season
That intro LMAO Let's be honest. Watching the trailer for this last year for the first time was exactly what Tony said: the Superbowl of Survivor. It was epic. :D
Not that this hasn't already been discussed by tons of fans already, but I just think it's amazing how Survivor's editors managed to turn Michele's reputation around so well. For more casual fans, she was the unfavored winner of season's past, but this season single-handedly turned her into the scrappy underdog we've all come to love. I've loved her since Kâoh Rōng, so seeing her portrayed so humorously (I wouldn't say greatly, she did have a fair amount of blunders in-game) this season was great. Not a single moment, but really Michele's presence throughout this season of fighting from the bottom and seeing how some of her gameplay actually works really made her a great and lovable on-screen character. And of course, she's great off the show too!
To the editors' credit, I did think this season had a really great amount of character-building scenes and segments (i.e. that seemingly out-of-place fashion show, Jeremy and Tony's squabble about firefighters' and cops' sense of time, etc.), which I can't say for a lot of modern-day, hyper-strategic Survivor. It really made the season stand out among the contemporary of distinctly meta gameplay. You could tell the crew and team behind the scenes wanted to give each winner (give or take) the respect they deserve.
You took me through an emotional rollercoaster bookended with some laughter. What a great video, Peridiam!

People get swapped. It's part of the game. Either you can navigate getting swapped into a minority (like Davey in David vs Goliath) or you can't.

Winners At War was such a Fantastic season! Tony is definitely one of the greatest if not the greatest players to ever play! His game was Amazing! Michele should have gotten second place if you ask me. She is extremely underrated. Michele is also one of the greatest players ever!

This video really highlights why this season would've been the perfect series finale. As much as I love Survivor, bowing out with an all-winners season, on a nice round number like 40, would've been absolutely perfect.

The elimination of Sophie will always make me hiss through my teeth. I totally wanted and thought this was going to be her, Sarah, and one other as final three. And as I saw the names being read, it was like seeing my prediction catch on total fire. I love it though.
Amber’s edge confessional really stayed with me long after that episode and was one of the best moments of the season for me

Sophie's whole game was just so iconic to me, I still wish she would've won so badly... If Tony didn't get paranoid at the last minute she probably would've swept the whole game 😭
With Tony being my favourite winner (before this season) this is one of my favourite seasons of all time. Seeing all these legends and some that I had not seen play live was incredible. I wish the boot order was a little different but I love this season. I'm glad this was the one before the huge break.

It was a really great season
Watching Sandra win survivor twice showed me that I as a 39yr old woman, a mother, a grandmother with limited physical strength and ability could not only play survivor but has the same chance as everyone else to win the game of survivor.

P.S.- The Tony blackmail disadvantage/Sophie blindside episode is the best I’ve ever seen. Granted, I’ve not seen about half of the seasons.
It was really disappointing that Michelle didn't recieve any votes to win. She's the best social player amongst all and that's what Survivor is all about. Nobody has better social skills than Michelle.

Sandra's vote off to me was the iconic moment of this season because it was so completely unexpected, but in hindsight I and Sandra should've seen it coming. If you have the biggest target on your back you have to imagine people would be looking for any excuse to be the one the vote you out.

Maybe in an early season of survivor sure, but at this point all of the fast paced, cut throat, demons of the night have played and this season pulled together all the biggest baddest of the bunch.

I know this may not be a popular season to do one on, but I think it would be a challenge to do a top 10 greatest moments of Survivor Fiji. I think this is an underrated season that could've been great if is wasn't for the haves/have not twist. I can think of 7 great moments off the top of my head with this one.
Natalie and Michelle just being badass women, all the cards stacked against them and they fought and earned their place in the finale.
I love Natalie, but I would’ve been so mad if she won. Not at her though, but the producers for allowing the Edge to exist.
