Hardest piece I've ever had to cover. So hard in fact that I couldn't smother it in guitar leads like I usually do, because the piano lines asked for shapes and patterns which were literally impossible to play on guitar at the song's speed. The piano in the intro is absolutely perfect in my cover as I've timed every note exactly the same to the original, which you can prove for yourself by just lining the start of this up with the original track and playing it at the same time. Unlike a lot of other covers I've also done the outro which is played when Volo is defeated in-game. Hope you enjoy my rendition of this incredible theme!

I admit Volo seemed a little suspicious when he kept showing up in the areas where you are during the story, it seemed a little too coincidental, but I was not expecting Volo to be the reason the space-time rift was created, the nobles to go berserk and ultimately one of the space-time deities to go on a rampage.

I'm so glad I wasn't spoiled because I had absolutely no idea Volo was gonna turn on me, and it bamboozled the crap out of me. I was shocked, sad, scared, in awe, and excited. This piece so well encompasses the betrayal.

Volo has got to be my favorite Pokémon character yet. Not only is he the only one to ever make me cry (I actually did legitimately cry during that scene where he offers you help after everyone else turned on you), he’s the only villain I never saw coming. And the connection to Cynthia and that final battle really sealed it for me. Never had a real challenge before in Pokémon. That man _wrecked_ me the first couple of times I tried to fight him. Nintendo did a damn good job with this man, and I hope we at least get an easter egg of him one day in another game.
I feel like he has to come back at some point. I personally think we'll see him in the SV DLC through the funny time travel shenanigans happening there.

BUT IT WAS I VOLO!
The funny part is his ambitions would be adopted by Cyrus and Team Galactic the future. To dethrone God and stand as the new ruler of Creation and create a perfect world. A sentiment Giritina was more than willing to assist with as Giritina was the reason Palkia and Dialga were fighting. It was all a trap to lure out Arceus, a trap Arceus didn’t fall for and sent you instead.
@@Broomer52 only logic I got is at one point, Cyllene and Volo's descendants had kids, thus resulting in two separate yet identical family lines.
Cyrus, with Cyllene's looks but Volo's insanity and goals, and Cynthia with Cyllene's demeanor and goodness but with Volo's everything else.

We know Cynthia's family is also deeply ingrained with legends- we meet her grandparents- and for all we know, Cyrus could have been the same way. _This is it. You've made it to the battle against Cynthia in the PWT, when out of nowhere, an Ultra Wormhole opens in the building, causing the lights to start flickering. Who steps out of this Ultra Wormhole? None other than Volo himself..._
What I find so interesting about Volo's theme is that there seems to be some parts that almost sound.. happy? Or a little bit victorious? Which I suppose makes a little sense, since he's so close to seeing Arceus and has managed to summon Giratina already. Like, listen to 1:17, 3:11 and even 2:55 a bit, with the victorious and upbeat feeling. It's really interesting to think about, and this cover is just music to my ears, literally! 😆 So good!

Like many soundtracks that conclude a game, the music is a send off to the experience you've just had. This is Volo's theme, but those sections are *you*. They represent Arceus blessing letting you beat Volo.

@@CB_W0lf Yup, there’s a similar one in FF14 at the end of Endwalker. The final boss’ theme fades and in phase, the leitmotif and lyrics are actually YOUR theme. It’s one of the best “grand finale” concepts for games imo

This remix is amazing! My older brother knew I didn’t want to be spoiled on the end of the game, so he waited patiently for me to reach it. So you can imagine when he saw my reaction to both Volo’s turn and the Giratina boss battle, he had the biggest shit eating grin on his face and laughing like some anime villain when I started panicking at both the music and the difficulty of the fight before then getting one shot by Giratina lol.

@@triangulartriangle The fight wasn't too hard for me surprisingly, but it brought back the memories of true fear and panic I had in the og games
so my cousin was spoiled in PLA about fighting arceus, but not volo. As an extreme sinnoh enjoyer I demanded they play through bdsp all the way before finishing PLA and so they're now approaching mount cornet. They've seen giratina in platinum, but never fought Cynthia. I feel like I've set them up for a really bad play session once they hear the piano in PLA.
After seeing this image I just want Volo to be voiced by Dio's VA
Now I can't imagine his dialogues without being voiced by Patrick Seitz (or Marc Winslow in our Latin American dub for Jojo).
Imagine how much cooler the end would be if after volo stated he could not live in a world where you get to meet arceus and not him he just dove off the edge of spear pillar never to be seen again.
And giratina like picks him up and flies away, similar to what they did with akari and braviary in the trailers

So I fought this battle for the first time today… **Spoilers Ahead**
Garchomp swept Volo single-handedly and severely wounded Giratina Phase One, Luxray finished off Giratina Phase 1 and brought Giratina Origin down to half, and delivered the finishing blow with Typlosion.
I won of my first go with three Pokemon.
Levels and moveset?
@@vololmao2812 Garchomp was an Alpha at level 81 (at the time, I think? They’ve all levelled a bit since then). Outrage, Stone Edge, Bulldoze and Iron Head, all mastered.
Luxray was Level 84 at the time, Wild Charge, Crunch, Ice Fang and Thunder Wave, with all but Ice Fang mastered.
Typhosion was Level 84 with Calm Mind, Flamethrower, Hyper Beam and Infernal Parade, with Flamethrower and Infernal Parade mastered.
I honestly don’t even know how I became so overlevelled.

I was among the crowd that got wrecked- my team was on par with his levels, but I had accidentally played pokemon like a lil bab again and my entire team was physical sweepers. Which. Not great! But when I came back with a better team I won, so I guess it came down to balance for me
Same for me. I had my LV 77 Mesprit take down his Spiritomb, Then swept about 3 or 4 of his team with a LV 78 Lopunny and finished him off with my LV 77 Shiny Alpha Hisuian Zoroark (Had to flex, sorry). Then I went ahead and absolutely eradicated Giratina with Zoroark.
For what it's worth, Pianos and Bells are criminally underused in Symphonic Metal (not that they aren't used, I just want MORE) so this piece scratches a long term itch.

This was great, adding the ending jingle for beating Volo was a great touch. Imagine a remix of Giratina's theme but there's the same fake-out as the game in the middle of the song 😳.
Hoping for more from you, Giratina's theme or the credits theme would be great ones, but anything you do will probably sound great!

This is one of the best covers I've heard. Really makes me feel like I'm battling this idiot, making me get dialga to level 81 so I could use roar of time a bunch. Oh yeah I remember ending the fight with my decidueye using shadow claw. Anywas once again good work!

I haven’t felt like this in a Pokémon battle since battling Cynthia, and before that long ago against Red on Mt. Silver. Another BATTLE OF LEGEND!
Not only does this go hard, but it harmonises so well! It doesn't even feel that much different from the original despite all the changes and it only sounds better.
He has the energy of “oh your approaching me” while giritina be like “Wryyyyyyy”
I wish we got more of "insane" Volo. We barely get any glimpses of his charming maniac smile.
Personally I never really liked his outfit (his Arceus cosplay ig?😞) but that art, like the outfit and hair just look so flowy and it somehow just made it so much better, goes to show how the littlest things change everything
And of course I won't forget the music, that was amazing no words in the English dictionary can describe, you can see the blood and sweat poured into this

Volo is easily my favorite villain in the entire franchise. I adored every second he was on screen, even though I saw his betrayal coming immediately. The moment he appeared after getting Cyndaquil, I knew he was evil. Yet I still loved him as a character, and all the little details thrown in to give you hints at his intentions. It's also interesting that Garchomp is the ace of a savior of worlds (Cynthia), and Togekiss being the ace of a world ending threat. I also feel I enhanced my experience further by reading all of his dialogue in Robbie Daymond's voice. :)

Nobody is going to talk that in this part of the game you not only have to defeat Cintia's team but you also have to defeat Giratina, twice and to make it more complicated it has to be followed! I almost jumped off my balcony when I found out 😵
i don't think i'll ever be able to get through how hyped i was during this whole final volo sequence 😭, one year later and still not over it! i hope pokemon will once again make a moment as amazing as this one!!
