Classical music is defined by a time period and even if there are modern composer who write in "classic style", this is absolutly not the case here.
Yu-peng Chen makes use of the traditional orchestral formation with the adds of multiple exotic instrument depending on what he wants to convey wich is part of his own style.
As a matter of facts, he's a contemporary composer, but I do hope that his work will go on posterity and be studied for centuries !

@@arcaelum2022 when I said "classical" I meant it like when people say "this one is a classic", and yeah I am aware of the different time periods in the history of art.
In fact, my mom recently said: "If people remember something (a music genre, a composer) that existed in a previous time period, then it's a classic. Rock music appeared in the 1960s, and people still listen to it. To them, rock music is a classic".

I feel like we should stop saying things like "Fontaine if Yu Peng Chen" but appreciate that YPC is now doing his own thing, doing what he loves and express himself. Yes, thanks to Genshin he said that his horizons have widened and I am sure this is one of the things that experimentation and maybe drawing inspirations from Dimeng Yuan's compositions and creations for Fontaine have drawn out.
Fontaine music as it is right now is amazing, Dimeng Yuan and everyone else on the Hoyo-Mix team have done a great job so far. We should support everyone in their pursuits of dreams and works and celebrate their greatness and be excited for what is to come in the future.
I am so happy to be blessed with YPC's new works, I am so going to pounce on the album the moment it releases and I am so happy to see so many people enjoy his work.
    This was magnificent.

This is absolutely true. The game definitely propelled him to new heights, but to say that Genshin is all he can be is like saying Robert Pattinson is just Twilight. He is so much more than the game he made music for.
The process for him leaving was started almost as soon as the game launched. All those people he brought onto HoyoMix are hand picked by him, to build a team that can replace him when he finally left.
He slowly started to hand off responsibility especially in the Sumeru OST. When he finally left it was because he knew with confidence that the quality of music will not go down due to his departure, and wasn’t that the truth.

This is beautiful🥹 I live in Buenos Aires, the heart of tango. On some streets dancers play for the crowd, some for money and some for passion… near the Atheneo Grand Splendid, you can even find on a spot a guide on the floor to learn it. Because of this I’ve grown listening to the tunes of passionate love, where words are not needed, only the dancers sharing intimacy through every step, as the music transports them and the viewer to a moment that doesn’t exist anywhere but everywhere, where your heart beats fast and you hear a story that doesn’t need to be told.
In this song I can feel the roughness, the lively emotions at times and full of secrecy at other moments… a passion in this melody that I’ve only felt listening to Piazzolla’s more lively tunes. I’m mesmerized. Congratulations on making this masterpiece!
