this car is amazing. gyro installed. and were drifting. this thing is addicting love it! i set the gyro at 30%
Great video can hear the wl motor lot of power for budget drifter . Think it just needed better throttle control but for 40 bucks win win great drift car !!!

this is awesome I have 2 k969's, I think this will be the first mod, cuz it's def not drifting out of the box lol honestly I feel like it has too much power, really wasn't expecting it. lol thanks again for the vid anything else worth knowing about the gyro upgrade are welcome =D
how easy do the parts break on it?
It’s cheap but durable maybe drive shafts . Gears do wear out .

Nice vid! If you upgrade the diffs, can you please try out the blue metallic ones from Bang good and let us know what you think? I think Beaver used the black mini z look alike ones.
I've thave used the blue metallic. OK as locked diffs not so good as normal diffs. A bit stiff. I'll do a review.

what to do if I cant fit the screwdriver
Put a front one way from AliExpress and some atomic 10.5mm dog bones and it's a drifting machine. Better yet get a 16t pinion and make it 2:1 cs and it's radical. And these fit a lot of kyosho bodies. They even have the side clips and front clip area for them. The R8, nsx, Corvette, WRX, McLaren's. Almost all the wide and some of the narrow 98mm bodies fit the 989/969. It's a great car.
Yes I've done all these mods over last few years.... Even made it a 90mm. Have a lot of respect for it as it dragged me back to the mini rc world 😁
@@GarageMiniRCUK that's awesome. Yeah it got me into it. I'm actually designing a slide rack system and front monoshock like the drz v2 but sunk into the bulkhead a little bit. And am eventually going to design a adjustable chassis for it.

I thinks it's the lipo battery thst gives it vroomm. Although I did put lipso in the Ma020 and thst made it turbo charged too

how are the stock tires compared to ds racing or kyosho ones? Have very limited access to them so if they are good enough, I would like to keep them. Planning on a 1.5-1.8 cs setup.
Stock tires are fine but depends on surface.

According your positive feedback, i would like to order the gyro (k969 ordered and shipped) but do i have to buy a specific electric harness?

Kind of. You need to check settings on gyro so not in reverse. If using standard wl radio then use dial on gyro for degree of gyro..so need to buy gyro with manual adjust. If goign to upgrade radio then get gyro with ch3 adjustment option. The black onisiki gyro does both. The red v3 gyro does not have dial.

Newbie question: I would like to purchase four K969 cars for me and the family and race around the house. Is this possible? Will each car be able to operate on its own channel or will they interfere with one another? Thanks for the help.

Hey i have a problem, my throttle works perfect but it wont steer. Its not mechanical becouse i cant hear anything wenn im steering

Yes 98mm camaro fits most easily. Not all fit.

@@zeno6111753 yeah, the most common size, you can get a lot of variations of cars, lots of jdm models and extra detail pieces and body kits ect
Just remembered I did fit a mitsubishi GTO body to my k989 a few years ago. Fitted perfectly at 102mm
@@GarageMiniRCUK I'm pretty sure I can get it to fit, 28th is smaller than 24th and I imagine it's easier to lengthen/widen than shorten/narrow the chassis
Had this car for 3 Years made it two wheel drive still on stock.. 😎 maybe it's time for some metal upgrades...

@@AngeloDenwillPetate to be honest I treated it like any other car it's just quite tough and well made it's outlasted all the rest wheels on route from eBay also going to buy another one. Great indoors and out😎
Should the car make a constant beeping noise when pressing the throttle?
No it shouldnt.
@@GarageMiniRCUK Hmm, any ideas? The car seems to drive fine, but even when pressing the throttle very lightly (without even spinning the wheels) it makes a beeping noise. The "bind" light stays illuminated and the "LED" light is off if that makes a difference.

The gyro helps steer the car in a slide making it more manageable.
