These permits were due to expire at the end of the year. What's the impact and how will it affect permit holders?

Zimbabweans must register their children in Zimbabwe now so that they start school in January.
Their academic year starts mid year. They will make another excuse next year that their kids cannot break midyear.
Most of these zim workers are teachers so what he basically mean how do you stop teachers in June when these teachers are preparing trial exams for kids to write finals October and November?

Honestly l might be crazy but l feel angry about the extension of Zep because to me it seems SA has sat down and weighed the benefits of sleeping with the Zanu thieves and added some bonuses from cheap labour from undocumented immigrants with no work benefits and thought we can milk this an extra 6months while the Zimbabwean are contented and therefore most will not go to Zimbabwe and change a regime of our benefits. Our SA neighbor's are looking more and more like Matshonisa who will lure you with more short term debt for all in the disguise of being a reasonable Saviour. Throw them one fish at a time and keep them dependant on you is their motto.

ZEP was never a pathway to citizenship no matter how many years you have been living in SA. That clause is very clear on the permit.

If the constitution that we have makes our country to be undermined and seen as a state with no laws, then it THE CONSTITUTION must be cancelled. The majority Shonas emigrated to the West like UK, Australia, USA because we are well educated compared to the Ndebeles & we can't speak your language like the Ndebeles. You many even find that many people in Matebeleland have been to Johannesburg not Harare because for them it's like their capital city. So you guys need to get own with reality and get some education. So any sanctions you throw on Zim you will be doing it to your cousins not Shonas. Then would we be correct in saying. All the ZEP holders must denounce their Zimbabwean citizenship and report their fellow Zimbabweans who are illigal in the country to the relevant authorities? It must be mandated by law for them or else should a fellow Zimbabwean be caught being illigal in the country and one of the ZEP is an associate. Moreover there only cross border taxis or buses should be catering only for the 180 000 and no one as well as hospitals etc.

I'm surprised SABC, ENCA give a lot of airtime to these guys like the one up there and Simba. Simba is married to a Sacn from some wealthy family. He won't be able to recognise a ZEP if it was put in front of him. His father is a minister and he is just gaining mileage for his political ambitions.
I was on a ZEP and moved away from it in 2020. There is noone on that permit who planned beyond the expriry date. People knew, were told it was going to end. These talks about people seeking Permanent residence are just to make news and am sure any gvt would be on some serious Kamikaze logic to try pull something like that.

Am surprised they are not paying more attention to people waltzing in and out without any documents. Witn ZEP you had your biometrics taken and the formalization tjat came with it, bank accounts, credit record, access to car loans, mortgage if qualifying etc, made one traceable.

This guy demographic analysis is poor, there is population that remains stagnant. So who is going to build Zimbagwe. Honestly SA must only consider critical skills for work permits. The rest must go home! Our children have degrees and Masters unemployed because of this people who don't want to go to their country. This guy even have guts to push this with the legal action! His reasoning does not make sense! Using houses and children as an excuse is not our problem!
Its not an excuse i was born in SA and im in matric im already stressing... if you were foreign and your child was in this position you would fight too. Just that you are not in our shoes.

Ponder This:
1. 180 Thousand Zimbabweans are taking jobs from 21million unemployed South Africans
2. 3 million undocumented foreigners are also employed and taking jobs from 21million unemployed South Africans
3. The whole population of Zimbabwe including those undocumented in South Africa is less than unemployed South Africans
Conclusion:
We would need to take all 15million Zimbabweans (including babies and old people who can not take up employment) to come and work in South Africa for us to say Zimbabweans are the root cause for 21million unemployed South Africans because last time I checked 180 thousand ZEP holders next to 21million is far too insignificant to be the reason for Sans unemployment. Illegal foreigners yes I would understand if the reasoning behind is to enforce immigration laws not to create employment because the numbers are are still less. Something else is at play here and we will know soon enough.

The ZEP people knew this will eventually come, seems these that take SA govt to court thought this day will not come, and decided to make SA their permanent home in the hope that they will not be asked to return home.
Seems those that say they have valid IDs , home affairs will have to link their ID applications to when they got the IDs to the ZEP initial forms

It’s easy to blame Zimbabweans to fight in their own but in all honesty this will be a fruitfulness action the issues in Zim are deep and require an international effort. The real pressure should be placed on the SA govt and other SADC counties to put pressure on the Zim govt. there is not enough of that happening now.
Remember what it took for apartheid to end. It was an international effort as well.

Our leaders are easily influenced by anyone who has money, we saw that with the Gupta brothers, where home affairs fraudelenty issued documents to some Indians to stay in our country. Zimbabweans will never make these demands to Botswana.
But have you also thought about the ordinary SAns who are benefiting from the rentals paid by these foreigners because if you where serious about wanting the Zimbabweans to go surely you will think twice before collecting rental payments from the places their occupy because it's clear that not all Zimbabweans live in shacks some South Africans are benefiting and l doubt those benefiting are the white rich folks only . I am sure there are some Southafricans who are happy to collect rent payments every month from the so called Zimbabweans and at the same time being active in Dudula groups. It is not about employment only. People must go to their homes they've been here far too long we want them out, they have homes where they come from. SA must decrease the number of immigrants starting with Zimbabwe.

I want to help this Zimbabwean gentleman it's seems like he's lacking understanding about something when it comes to trucking industry, if a truck has South African registration it should be driven by a person with RSA drivers license likewise if it's a foreign truck it shall be driven by a person from the country where the truck belong therefore there's no need for trucks to be stopped at whatever border, if they are driven by people from the country's where trucks belong, if Zimbabweans are driving Zimbabwean trucks nobody has a right to remove them out of the truck even law enforcement can't but defending Zimbabweans who are driving South African truck that's totally madness RSA has got plenty of men and women who are in position of drivers licenses and skill to operate all types of trucks efficiently and effectively so there's no need for Zimbabweans to drive RSA trucks.
The time when ANC was propping up ZANU PF is when u was supposed to bring this logical insight from root level now it's too late. Investors ran into SA so vulnerable Zimbabweans do so. Corrupt leadership is all what we should blame guys
