This is a critical department to the country but it seems mediocrity is an accepted standard. It is sad.
He must just do away with that queuing and standing on lines, just introduce a toll free number to dail for anybody in need of appointments and problem solved. So no need for such a endless mess anymore. Just clear the streets and the area's involved and problem solved.

The upgrading of current infrastructure and investment in technology (hardware and software) is essential at this stage and its a much better investment than hiring graduates thats not going to change much in terms of their situation.

Home affairs seriously needs a digital transformation. Hiring more people won’t solve the issue.
They are hiring IT graduates to start that process. They will have hired 10 000 by the end of 3 years, they are doing it in batches.
