Hey, that's OK. Sir Alec Guinness didn't really think the movies were going to be all that good, but he DID suspect that they would make a ton o' money and so he traded a good chunk of his salary for points and became a very, very rich man.

Might as well put it here for what it's worth: in the theatrical cut Vader can be seen moving his hand as he watches Luke fall. Right after that Luke gets sucked /pushed into the vent he slides down..

I feel like that should have been brought up a lot earlier, when Luke "invented" the Force pull right at the start of the movie.
No, actually it's not. Telepathy seems pretty consistent in the Star Wars universe, I didn't consider it lazy writing at all. I thought it was perfect. To be fair it's kind of hard to pick apart this movie which was pretty much perfect.

I'd like to see this, too, tho I don't think it would work the same for movies based on books, because they aren't really writing a movie that they can pitch, at most they are pitching using the book as the base for the movie.
It would be very interesting, because like they said it's based off a book trilogy, so theoretically it'd be really difficult to do.

Actually Yoda DID train Obi-Wan, when he was a small child. According to the novelizations of Episode 1-3, Yoda trained ALL Jedi younglings and his face is Obi-Wan's earliest memory. Obi-Wan became Qui-Gon's student when he was an adolescent, as Jedi become "padawans" when they're adolescents and get assigned a master to train only them, instead of many students. Obi-Wan had many masters, Yoda was only kind of his first master.
Oh, writing in technicalities that rely on your characters speaking deliberately obtusely is tight!

Yeah, that was definitely a mistake made in this Pitch Meeting. Heck, even if you don't take the Prequels into account, one of Obi-Wan's regrets, that he mentions to Luke, is that he thought he could train Anakin as well as Yoda, meaning that Yoda did have a role in training the Jedi, including Obi-Wan.
BRIAN KRIENS and after Qui Gon died, Yoda probably finished his training or something

One of my favorite moments with Nataasi Daala is telling Luke off for all the one armed ruffians roaming the galaxy because they were unfortunate enough to come across a jedi. Jedi chops off an arm and rides off to another adventure no cares given for the aftermath.

Yoda trained all of the Jedi younglings. When they get older, they become padawan learners assigned to a specific Jedi (Qui-gon in the case of Obi-wan). So....Obi-wan is not actually a liar. ;-)
Yoda was like the daycare supervisor and primary school teacher for legions of Jedi.
He's still a liar on so many other things so it still works.
