This is not a "rollercoaster" it is a powered coaster. It is a kids flat ride turnee on its side and moves as quick as the electric motor is programmed to. It does not use gravity in any way.
A powered, compact, single-rail multi-looper shaped like a clover. If there was ever a roller coaster born from pinning words to a dartboard and seeing what you hit, this is probably it. Somehow, it still looks good.
Initial thoughts of "Where's the brake run!?" "Where's the block zones!?" are all quelled by this unique rack and pinion system. If they can make it reliable and have easy maintenance, this looks to be one of the craziest coaster types out there. I legitimately want this in the center of my home park. This particular layout is dramatic, unique, and exciting. Can't wait to be following you for more news and projects in the future.

This is deeply unserious, Allgäu Skyline Park is gonna love it.
It is an interesting concept; but because the vehicle is driven via positive engagement (i.e. servomotor + gearbox), what is the fault mode/recovery when a failure occurs and the vehicle stops on the tracks in an unfavourable position (i.e. in a loop)?
On Desmo Race at Mirabilandia they have an emergency car that can tow others to safety, but I dunno how that could translate over to a coaster with inversions.
@@MondoCoasters Interesting! A tow vehicle makes a lot of sense. I wonder if they have a clutch which releases automatically (ie requires power to close), so that the vehicle freewheels in the event of an E-stop? Although that may not be a desirable outcome, either…
I agree; its a very interesting concept and hopefully will be reliable. I believe they are using direct drive, so no gearbox should be needed. Unlike some of Maurer's previous designs (like Desmo Race) this seems to use two racks; If I was the engineer I'd use a separate powertrain for each to add redundancy for a design like this with inversions. That way both would have to independently fail for the ride to get stuck upside down. Freewheeling could be dangerous because the other cars seem to be spaced on the same track; it doesn't appear to use traditional block sections (though if the other cars were moved a safe distance then freewheeling could be a possible solution).
@@thinkingchristian Ah! Yeah, if the servo is big enough with no gearbox, then I can believe the back-drive torque is low enough that the train would simply valley more-or-less like a conventional coaster. Presumably they would space trains far enough apart that a power failure scenario like that couldn’t result in a collision (likely tuned for each specific circuit design).
@@IainHendry yeah that’s a good point, the spacing of trains could be based on the where a train would valley if a fault occurred, meaning it would depend on the track layout. There would be “block sections” based on gravity haha. It also seems possible that this mechanism could be used in conjunction with a traditional roller coaster design too - use the motor for the launch and then let gravity do the rest; the racks can simply “end.” The only difficulty would be making sure the gears line up with the racks when the train enters a launch section. My guess is Maurer is going this direction at least in part for sustainability reasons - they’ve used regenerative braking for more traditional launch systems in the past.
The funny thing is, if Emerald Park bought this and fully leaned into it, nobody would bet an eye, people would actually say, "well, duh!" with a smile. In any other park, it would be an absolute meme coaster 😂
Animation is a little rough around the edges, but more importantly, please consider ride throughput when designing coaster trains! 6 people per train means that guests will be waiting for HOURS to ride this thing.
I was like "oh that's cool" but then I saw it was posted by Maurer and was like "WAIT IT'S A REAL DESIGN??"
Same here I thought it was from Planet Coaster or something 😂
It looks like the most cursed and unrealistic planet coaster build but it’s real O_O
cause it's a powered coaster... gravity doesn't matter xD
@@Jcoaster95 Interesting! About time we see extreme powered coasters
@@Jcoaster95booooooo boring.
Loving Maurer's "throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks" era
*Maurer added Emerald Park to the group chat*
SIGMA SKIBIDI RIZZ IN OHIO WHILE KSI IS GOONING FOR BABY GRONK🤫
I thought all ride elements had been done by now, but here's Maurer inventing the damn Shamrock Loop
Guys I think Maurer is going crazy
whoever at maurer came up with this was so high and i love it
Truly the most Irish rollercoaster ever made. Emerald Park is definitely gonna buy one of these. 🤣🤣
So true
no we're not, we gonna wait like 10 years
Hopefully not, these spike coasters are terrible and unreliable

@@zanzabar4ky7 exactly, I rode Desmo Race it doesn't feel like a coaster, totally a controlled expirence.
When I first saw it I legit thought that it was planet coaster, then I lost my mind when this actually got approved by Maurer
Hey same here!
I don’t think I have seen such a creative coaster layout like this in quite some time. I love it. Plus, the music in this video is very catchy.
I swear this is a cut/rip off from Eluveitie
Edit: a swiss band
It’s a powered coaster. Ugh.
@@ErwinPPP So? A credit is still a credit.
@@ErwinPPP There's nothing wrong about. Nobody forces you to go on the coaster
@@ErwinPPP what do you mean ugh? An extreme powered coasters sounds awesome!
This is so goofy and I love it
Busch Gardens Williamsburg - please add one for your Coaster-less Ireland section!
Yeah that would be a perfect fit! It would be better than that b&m family invert we're getting 🤣
This is the type of coaster 8 year old me would imagine in my head.
Planet coaster 2 looks sick!
Alright, Maurer is the Jimi Hendrix of coaster companies! Who's with me!
Next they should do a play on the terrible skyline coasters! THAT would sell!
I want to see this built somewhere. Not only does the shamrock look great, but so does the rest of the layout. Looks really fun.

Next Holiday world holiday could be st Patrick’s lmao
these strange looking concepts need more attention, im actually wanting 5 maurers at my home park now
The comeback we didn't need but the one Mauer deserves
Emerald Park, you watching?
Didnt click on this video after seeing it about 20 times as I assumed this was some kind of no limits design concept... this is insane.
I like your style, Maurer!
That coaster would be perfect for BGW in the Ireland section 🍀
Die Präsentation ist grandios und es ist eine gelungene Weiterentwicklung des Spike-Coasters.
would be sick if a park bought one. reminds me of the "impossible" figure 8 loop in rct3
This looks really fun! Great job Maurer!

This is screaming headline attraction for a new park section at Holiday World
I’ll be expecting this one coming to a park in Ireland any moment now
they're just doing the craziest stuff they can think of and hoping someone buys it.
Holiday park: write it down! WRITE ALL OF IT DOWN!!!!
St Patty's Day yay!!! 🍻
Looks AMAZING!!!
i literally cannot think of a single normal roller coaster cooked up by Maurer
I love this concept but 6 riders at a time is gonna make some pretty nasty lines
to be fair, since this is a powered coaster they could probably have like 4 on the track without the need of actual block sections
@@kaketoe is true, I saw 2 one the track in the video so it could be possible.
The description says it has a max throughput of 1,000 riders.
@@josh0108 1000 is not too bad for a smaller park, and thus this can be a really cool and unique investment for a smaller park

Is this made with planet coaster 2??
Bro put this at BGW
I need whatever Maurer is on

This should be a new coaster at Holiday world to headline a new expansion to the park imo

Which game is this? :D
Literally just and irish smiler and i love it lol

That’s sick🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ok that looks fun as hell
Very innovative!
So Many Wierd new Concepts from Maurer! I wonder if any of these will get built anytime soon?
Never
@@coasters4life388Never say never!😉

Yeah... this is a good thrill! and it's powered
Where is it? I want to ride it
This is like saying something and then immediately seeing an ad about it
What
Da funk Maurer smoking
If that park in Ireland doesn’t build this I’m throwing hands
How did they get planet coaster 2?
So, yes this looks great 👍 Now, who's first to put one in their parks?
God this looks so fun

Emerald park needs this
How much are these and what parks are they targeted to?
Maurer calm down. Wouldn’t want to end up like Zamperla…💀
Did I read wrong or will it not pull much more than 1 G during the ride?
Maurer hopping on that single lane hype. It looks like a 2020s version of premier spaghetti bowl coasters.
Interesting Design Coaster It Reminds Me Of A Clover
Actually an incredibly cool signature element, reminds me of the figure 8 loop that never got built
They made that too
Wait. Wait a minute.. Is... Is the entire track basically one long block section?
It’s a powered coaster, so no traditional block sections needed.
Is that powered coaster because I feel that’s the only way it’s getting through the shamrock element
That shamrock element looks like something made in Planet Coaster in 5 minutes.
Question, isn’t the entire track technically a block zone since it’s controlled speed? Couldn’t they have like 10 cars on the track at once?
So is this a continuous LIM track? What.... if power shuts off?
Irish Approved!
How much would this cost to buy?
Animation is a little rough around the edges, but more importantly, please consider ride throughput when designing coaster trains! 6 people per train means that guests will be waiting for HOURS to ride this thing.
what would you even call these inversions? like theres an immelman but is the first one a very weird loop and the 3rd one...?
Like to see Maurer trying out a single rail
Do ya’ll actually have plans to construct one of these? Looks pretty cool
Could that be a new element? "A Shamrock Loop" Sounds pretty cool tbf
Its clover. This is fing cool
*_I think Maurer Has went insane_*
Could they make the Shamrock a butterfly for Dollywood?
Based on the layout concepts they’ve been showing off they can pretty much do any shape they feel like.
Maurer stop cooking so hard😭😭💀
rollercoasters have come a long way.......
drop the pov!!! without shots and crazy fov
Would be perfect for holiday world
Let's make a powered coaster go upside down! That's proberly a good and safe idea...
Put it at King’s Island where Vortex used to be
Yes! LOL!! What would be the name? 🍀🎢 Maybe, The 4 Leaf Clover?!? ☘️😮🎉

I could see Holiday World buying this…
is this real? cos it looks really good
Looking like Viper's iconic loops
Either open it in Ireland, or Holiday World. There are no other options
this would be PERFECT for busch gardens williamsburg
If they build this it will be great
