      I cannot believe the devastation. Everything, just gone. I think of not only homes, obviously lives, but more jobs and businesses, gone. Communities wiped out. I am so sorry for people there. All of them. I can't imagine actually being there during this. And then human vultures waiting to pick through the ruin....that is disgusting. For anyone going through this, sorry doesn't help, but I am. It didn't have to happen. I hope they can at least find out how it started.

      Salt in sea water destroys fire fighting equipment and also dumping thousands of gallons of salt water has a negative impact on land even when it’s scorched, and affects habitat (soil, plants, trees, grass - all of it) when regrowth starts to occur. Just like everything else, you’ve got to do a little research - nothing is as simple as it appears on the surface.

    • @Don2006
      @Don2006 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Three reasons.
      1. Corrosion. There are many materials that can handle seawater, but existing firefighting infrastructure would have to be rebuilt for compatibility.
      2. Flora damage. You would not be able to replace the native plant species. This is particularly bad in the nearby forests. The entire ecosystem -- plants and animals -- could be destroyed.
      3. Electrical hazard. Throwing saltwater at damaged electrical infrastructure is a bad idea.

    • @2stoves1
      @2stoves1 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @zacshepard2042 No it isn't. You must still be under the, incorrect, assumption that they ran out of water. They did not. What happened was the firefighters were using so much water so fast that they dropped the water tanks used to keep pressure in the lines to the point water wouldn't come out.
      This happened because city hydrants are not designed to fight raging wildfires fueled by hurricane like winds. Make sense? Its a natural disaster, it wasn't really any way realistically to prevent this given the conditions with those high winds.
      Just admit you don't care about facts or truth, and just want to try and smear and complain and make people look bad.

    • @2stoves1
      @2stoves1 6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @zacshepard2042 Let me ask you this. Did you also claim negligence for the government of North Carolina for allowing people to build along the flood plains on the riverbank? Why didn't they use tax dollars to prevent it? What about Florida's government? Did you criticize them for allowing people to build in hurricane prone areas, and not spending more tax dollars to prevent flooding? What about the government of Texas for their failing power grid during a winter storm that left much of the state in the cold and dark?
      Or, is it maybe, you don't actually care and just want to exploit a natural disaster to try and score cheap political points?

    What no one talks about is there is a ballot measure almost every year to increase funding for fire, police and schools and increase property taxes to pay for it. They always pass. So how are they allowed to cut funding for the fire and police when voters have voted to increase their taxes to put more money towards these very things? Where is the accountability? Why aren’t they in prison for embezzlement?

    Just so people actually know..... Most states have National Guard units. Kalifornia is one of four (4) states that actually has it's own "full Army National Guard Division". The 40th Infantry Division. The most likely reason they weren't called up sooner is because of money. If the governor calls them up, Kalifornia must pay them out of Kalifornia's budget. Kalifornia must also pay four travel, housing, and 3 meals a day. Kalifornia's budget is in the grave, so that's why Newsom didn't want to call up the National Guard.

You have structures all around you in most cases and setting up to draft from a pool knowing there want be enough water to do any good ; much wiser to help get people out of harms way than try to fight a structure fire without enough water. Get the people, your team and equipment out of harms way which is what most were doing. They only used their onboard water for rescues which was the smart move! START WITH THE MENTALITY DERANGED GOVERNOR and State Congress and MAYORS because they are responsible for NOT BEING PREPARED KNOWING THIS COULD EASILY HAPPEN and have DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!
