I enjoy watching your videos, simply because you talk clearly and are very detail oriented. I wish I could afford to buy one of every Lifan bike models, but, unfortunately I can't. I started riding in 1978, and since then I've owned nine Japanese motorcycles and three scooters, an Italian, Taiwanese, and a Chinese (Junk). The biggest bike I've owned were two Suzuki 800cc motorcycles, both cruisers, one custom and the other a classic style. We all know Japanese bikes run, and run, and then run some more if they are given regular and timely required maintenance. Unfortunately, now that I'm retired and live on a fixed income I can't afford Japanese bikes anymore and I am looking at Chinese. And among Chinese brands Lifan and CF Moto seem to be the reliable ones. Now I just have to decide whether I want a motorcycle or a scooter. Scooters are fun, you just twist and go and they have a drive belt. Motorcycles have power and are freeway worthy, but, you have to deal with a clutch to shift. And the chain must be cleaned and lubed every 300-500 miles, that gets old quick. I like the Lifan KPV 150 scooter, but man, so many plastic panels to deal with every time you want to adjust or tweek something. Removing the panels and reinstalling them over and over again also gets old quick. Decisions, decisions, decisions! BTW, why a car's radiator coolant don't need to be changed but every 60,000 miles, but a motorcycle coolant must be changed every 6,000 miles? What's up with that? Also, is it worth it to pay $2,500 for an EFI KP mini 150, when I can buy a new carburetor version of the mini for less than $1,900? Keep these awesome videos coming.
Hello Jeff sounds like you have a lot to think about when it comes to your purchase of a bike. As far as the KPV is concerned, the bike is still new to me, and I haven't removed the panels too much but in my experience with Lifan I think it will not be a problem. The kpv is surprising in its performance, I was just driving it around the other day and got up to 67mph on the speedo. I don't know how accurate the speedo is just yet but still it was moving really good. Kind of sneaky quiet fast if you know what I mean. I know all about the Japanese bikes as I have owned tons of them and although the Lifan bikes aren't quite up to the Japanese bikes yet, they are getting really close. I ride my Lifan bikes all over and never once did I have a break down or a problem. It's really nice to be able to buy a brand-new bike that nobody else has handled and abused for the price of an old worn-down Japanese bike that's 20 years old. The main reason I think on the coolant change schedule is because of aluminum parts. Now I know that most people won't follow any kind of regimen of coolant change and will only change it if there's a problem or at very best change it every so often. I myself would only change it when I felt it necessary to do so, probably once every 2 years depending on how much I ride. Do I think it is worth the extra money for EFI? It depends, do you just want to hop on and ride then EFI is the way to go. If you want to modify for more power and speed then a carb version would be better. In this day and age, I think the EFI would hold its value more and would have more of a market to resale to. I like my EFI bikes more but that's just me. Whatever you decide, good luck my friend!
I'm an absolute noob when it comes to motorcycles and I'm genuinely looking to purchase the kpr or kpm. If you don't mind, can you educate me what maintenance is required and what's the valve clearance?
@@Dabby724 Hello, we all have to start somewhere and were all noobs at one time so no problem at all. Maintenance on these bikes are really limited to oil and filter changes, and maybe a spark plug change, and valve adjustment. The valve adjustment is just a matter of aligning timing marks and checking the clearance on a stone-cold engine. The clearance check is between the rocker arm and the top of the valve. It has to have a little clearance otherwise problems will arise. The same goes if the clearance is too loose, problems can arise, that's why you want to set it perfectly. You also have to check and adjust the chain occasionally and lubricate it. I try to make as many videos as I can to help newbies on the maintenance because there just isn't much information available. I have lots of videos on the KPR, the engine on the KPM will be the same. Only dealbreaker for me is the speedometer that’s off. Would’ve been a perfect pickup truck bike otherwise. Here’s to hoping that next Generation model fixes the speedometer issue 🍻
The KP mini is a great bike, reliable and fun in my opinion. The speedometer being off is a little irritating but I got use to it. They do make speedo correctors that you can attach and make it read perfectly. They sell for around $75-$80 I think. Really a small price to pay for a really decent bike.

These bikes are amazing for the price. Lifan I think is a good company. They have been the distributor for MV Agusta in Asia if my memory serves correct. Don't be afraid to buy one. Check if you have a dealership first in your home town. I actually have a lifan dealership where I live and they carry all the king power models and all of the colors and provide full service. 3 mph off is great, just about every Japanese bike I’ve owned has been off by a few miles per hour including my Goldwing. The Suzuki vstrom 650 that I owned was off by 6mph. My KP mini is off by 9mph at top speed but normal riding is in the 6mph range. A speedo corrector attachment that brings your speed to perfectly is around $80.

First minute in. The KP mini is absolutely not a “commuter bike”. It’s a mini moto grom clone but with a vertical cylinder. While some may buy it to commute with, 99.9999% do not. It’s a hooligan bike. A play bike. I’ll watch more for my next criticism
I used it for a commuter bike, but your right a lot of people use it for hooligan type riding. But I think the percentage is higher than you think of people using it for commuting

I have no idea about the KPT pricing, I don’t know anymore than you, it’s just speculation at this point. But the KPT has a lot going for it like a parallel twin engine, TFT display, I think it may have ABS also along with lots of other things. With it being a Lifan product I have more faith it and would be willing to spend $5000 on it

The main difference the way I understand it is in the engine. The condor uses a push rod engine at least it did, not sure if it changed or not, and the SS3 uses an overhead cam engine. The ohc engine will produce slightly more HP than the CG style push rod engine and it will rev higher. I personally prefer the OHC engine.

Just drove my KPR about 50 miles down to the beach and back at night. I definitely need a sprocket and exhaust! I can’t really get mine over 73mph
Yes, the exhaust helps tremendously with power and the sprocket helps with speed. But the bike also does better after it’s fully broken in

In kpr i got the highest mileage in Highway ride 63km per Litre with ocatne.... In city with trafic the regular mileage is 42-45km/L
