I’m having rotator cuff & torn bicep surgery next Thursday. It’s been 3 1/2 months since I injured it. SO ready to get this done! Thanks for posting this!
@@LAVAFIELDS , it went well. Be patient with yourself, healing takes time. Use ice or one of those devices that circulates ice water. Follow through with the physical therapy. Good luck!
@kimberleylynn Hi Kimberley…I also broke my ankle in the service and have a torn labrum in my shoulder AND hip !! I was so wowed to hear you say that lol !! Ugh…I’m about to have the shoulder surgery also. The radiologist said my rotator cuff is torn also, but my orthopedic says it not 🤷 I just shattered my leg last December, 2 plates and 12 screws. I’m still not over that and it’s sucked mega. I’m going to watch your other videos also. I sure hope your recovery has gone well and you’re doing better? I’d love to hear from you Kimberly and thank you for uploading the videos. ❤️🩹 🙏 I pray everyone else here has a great outcome. Stay strong 💪 God bless
Hi. Thanks for posting your surgery videos. I am having rotator cuff and bicep surgery in 2 days and your tips gave me a good idea of what to expect. Now I really wish I had bought a recliner....
Good luck! A recliner is definitely the most convenient option but a few nights I slept in bed with a bunch of pillows. Whatever works for you and makes you the most comfortable, there’s no right or wrong!
I’m stuck in the middle zone right now I will be getting labrum repair surgery on my dominant arm (left) and I had surgery on my right back in 2012, really hope this one doesn’t take long . Just waiting for a referral for another surgeon
Ive had VNS surgery and the nerve block does take several hours and up to two days to get through. Is to take things slow is not to be working or computer work the nerves in your upper areas will feel very tingly and you need to go easy. Upper area survery takes a long time to heal and thr muscles dont heal dont heal overnight .
It's best to follow doctors orders. My doctor specifically ordered Tylenol for the first few days. The ice machine helped more than any of the meds for the pain and inflammation. How long ago was your surgery?
I had ulnar nerve decompression surgery back in 12/2021. I think it was a 35 minute surgery. I can relate to the nerve block. I had mine in the side of my neck as well. I was pretty much normal later that night.
omg watching this bc i’m waiting for an mri to see if i tore mine and i had the same symptoms!!! messed it up 2 years ago too trying to workout and just ignored it over the years 😅😅 not my best move
Hiii!! Yes I completely understand lol but definitely best to get it looked at now before it gets any worse. Sending you the best of luck for a clean MRI report!!
i'm having an open labrum repair with capsular shift and the latarjet procedure on december 16th. it's got me a little nervous and i watched a video on the actual surgery which i probably shouldn't have done because 🤮 but i'm a super curious person. i'm still kinda nervous
In the fall when I was putting a lot of stress on it the right side of my neck was very tight and I would constantly get the feeling of a pinched nerve in my neck and down into the back side of my trap.
@@kimberleylynn5710 oh ok. I ask bc about a month into my diagnosis of a labrum tear in my left shoulder, my left neck/trap started hurting. Got the feeling like it was very tense/knots building up. Has it gotten better for you since you had the surgery?
@@randy7425 I had a very similar feeling in my trap as well. After surgery the pinched nerve feeling went away immediately. The knots stayed for a few weeks after surgery, but that could have been due to the trauma of surgery and subconsciously guarding it. A little over 2 months post-op and the knots are gone!
@@kimberleylynn5710 that's interesting! I really thought I was the only one with those symptoms. I'm also thinking of going to HSS in Manhattan since I'm in north Jersey. Hope your recovery is going well!
Good luck. With your recovery. All the I surgery videos I watched said the nerve block would last 24-36 hrs. I got less than 12 out of mine. Ice machine is key.
@@kimberleylynn5710 absolutely. Everything I read and was told by people who had gone through it said the pain could be excruciating. I got lucky and had very little pain. Only took pain meds for 2 days. I’m 2 1/2 weeks into recovery and have no pain to speak of.
