- Sorry it took so long but here is part 2 y’all! There was a lot of driving and barely any service so that’s why it’s taken some time.

I’ve never driven through Canada but I’ve considered it for a customer. This video definitely helped with the costs and needing individual permits per province. Solid video!!
I’m making a whole other video on permits, tags, and bond because it was a pain to find all the info on my own. Glad the bit of info I put in this video helped! Highly recommend at least doing one run. It’s fun and a beautiful drive
I thought those break-away batteries were kept charged by the 12v hot lug coming from your truck like they do on RV coach batteries? May be your battery was just bad...
My thoughts exactly. And the new battery should have been able to be charged just by plugging in the 7 way to the truck?
It’s supposed to. Something is going wrong with the system, fuse for that hot lug, or wiring. Checked wiring. Nothing looks wrong. Fuses look fine but of course the fuse I need isnt available in Canada. At least above the 60° latitude. Gonna check in Dawson Creek.

As I am watching this video... you got told you can't have the straps on the rub rails? I thought with that type of trailer you are allowed to? I have never been told that and have had 4 levels one inspections.
I haven’t been told that before either after all my inspections. It was a first for me. He said the hooks need to be in the stake pockets or hooked to the frame.
Would it have been cheaper and less Canadian bs to deal with by taking the barge up to Anchorage and then drive to Fairbanks? I’ve driven to AK twice but if I go back I may do the barge.
$1200 up and $1200 back so no not cheaper but less of a hassle and wear n tear on your rig. The barge also isn’t going past Juneau this year due to crew shortages. I was actually going to ferry this load or at least back
I take that back. It would be a bit cheaper. Whatever your food/permits/bond costs are is what you’d keep in your pocket and save. It’s about $1600-$2000 for fuel to drive. Maybe even less. So I mean it might be even or similar. I’m definitely gonna ferry up from now on tho.
@@truckertavis I've seen several great paying loads from my area to AK, but wasn't sure how to handle the border crossing/ authority. So you just take your paperwork and pay for the permit when you get to Canada?? Thats it??
@@hiltonray4461 no there’s lots more to it. I’m making a video so those who want to do AK runs can get the proper info since I learned all on my own and it wasn’t fun to do

I live I'm bc and we are the stupidest province in canada for taxes, regulations,permits and over bullshit from police to cvse. You're lucky u got a nice officer because a bad officer on a good day would have screwed u over 10x harder. So it good to see atleasst a few of them have some compassion!!!
I was so happy he went easy on me. Yeah it’s interesting learning all these different laws and regs. They were pulling in a lot of people that day and inspecting
