I changed my mind!! After riding the Heritage to STURGIS, that one may be my favorite bagger... but... I think I still want something with off-roading capabilities in addition to being touring friendly. What do you think? Review on the Heritage 👉th-cam.com/video/8_3fDW1WZdM/w-d-xo.html
I am definitely going to try the new Heritage out one of these days, I have been thinking about it since Harley has made so many changes over the many years of this model and now have it in the Cruiser category of models.
I'm having the same dilemma. I have a 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS, but I want a bagger; been looking at the Road Glide and the Road King. Problem is I, too, love offroading and have been looking at the brand new Triumph Tiger 1200. I sat on one at my local dealership and fell in love. Just need to get around to test-riding one. Take care, Doodle!
That is funny that you liked the Heritage so much, Shade Tree Surgeon got a Heritage loaner and taught it was the worse model HARLEY makes. He actually recommended the Sports Glide better which is a more performance oriented Heritage, bags, inverted forks and better brakes. I think you should check that one out and give us a comparison.

Yup. I used to have a Kawasaki Kz550 with a aftermarket huge plastic windshield on it. I always laughed when it rained because it was my back and the rear of my seat that was soaked . Not my front. That huge circle of air going over the screen and coming around my back also gently pushed me forward at interstate speeds. When Doodle pointed out the vents ,it made perfect sense. Well said. A good rider has safety zones colored yellow, orange, and red. Green ends when you raise the garage door. Most unhappy rides occur because a rider was in a red zone behaving as if he's still in the garage putting his helmet on!
Doodle, if you haven’t ridden the new Heritage softail you really should. It’s light, super comfy and has cruise too. The bags are actually hard. I had a low rider but was never that happy with it. It was the dyna platform from 2015 so a different animal. The heritage actually sits lower. The great thing about these is you can quickly remove windshield, bags or trunk if you want to, then put em back on for a trip. It’s definitely my last Harley I’m finally satisfied.
You look great on that bike, you should totally get one. You should be totally proud of yourself. I remember thinking that it worried me that you might get hurt riding. Now you've turned yourself into a great rider. Stay safe riding and continue enjoying your motorcycle journey.

The fairing of the Street & Road Glide work well in rain and cold weather but the Road King Special is the best riding motorcycle I ever ridden so far.
Just bought mine a week ago and I think it’s the best out of the box bike ever. With that said I went with forward controls because I’m 5’11 and because of that I changed the air cleaner because it was in the way. Will do other mods, but make no mistake they aren’t needed.
Thank you Carolyn, I was teetering with what bike to get, I believe I am sold on the low rider thanks to you. I like how you explained the wind deflection. I will refer to this video before my purchase. Thank you again.
I got a '21 Sport Glide, which is the predecessor to the Low Rider S. I was a doubter until I road it, then ended up buying it. My bags are the same size and removable. My fairing is a mini version of the Street Glide and also removable so you can have a striped down look. I still have my Triumph Street Triple 765R for the more spirited riding.
Doodle you're the best 👌 👍 You nailed it and I really like how you compared different kind of baggers based in your own experience and ability. At least you are being honest as a rider. I wish you can make more videos about the Low Rider ST ✌️ and ride safe 🙏🏻
the best thing about the ST is that you can take the bags off in less than a minute and put them on quickly! I installed the bags from a ST on my Low Rider S and absolutely love it!!!!
I've actually never been interested in baggers at all, but your review of this one might have changed my mind. I like a sporty ride, and it looked like you were having some sporty fun on it!
A 700 lbs bike with a massive v-twin engine and foot forward controls is many things, but not exactly sporty. These are bikes made for cruising comfortably and mostly in a straight line.
I've ridden the Indian Challenger, and Yamaha Star Eluder, both great bikes. I like big full-size baggers and this wouldn't be for me probably. I currently own a Yamaha Royal Star tour deluxe (In the same class as a Road King but bigger slightly) and I'm looking at a second bike. I might test ride one, but the two aforementioned are my lead choices.
Have owned a Heritage Classic and loved it. Road Glide fairing with Street Glide gauges would seal the deal for me to go back to HD. I tour on my Tiger 1200, because I like the extra height of the bike and for me it ticks all the comfort boxes. At 6'2" most bikes require modifications that I dont necessarily want to invest in because I switch up every few years. I'm lucky enough to be able to afford to.
When you find a bike that you wear more than ride, that's the one for you! I found that in the Honda Shadow Spirit. I feel more like I'm putting it on than getting on it. It just fits me so well. It almost becomes a part of me. Everything is so intuitive about it.
Great review Doodle! You're kinda turning me to the Harley side of the force with all these positive reviews you've done lately. Of course HD has been stepping up their quality game the past several years as well.
Your enthusiasm is great. Please continue reviewing these bikes as you cruise around on your new Harley Low Rider ST..You know you are getting one...don't you...lol...great video Doodle.
Riding is my biggest passion and I really enjoy this channel. My girl is a rider too and she's 5"3, so all the help for her with big bikes has been more than helpful. We live in a country where we have beautiful roads with twisties and all, so all the content about harleys is not for us. These are straight lines bikes, too noisy for our taste and too heavy for our riding pleasure. They are very expensive as well compared to bikes offering more for less. Nonetheless we enjoy every vid ! We hope for content on the equipments as the choice is very large:) the differences between shoes costing 300$ and other costing 100$, or what 360 cam should we go for, when there are 500$ cam like insta and go pro and 150$ cams like sjvc and other brands. Keep up the good vids !
I completely disagree! I ride a Road King Special and LOOOVE the twisties! I throw that thing down the road like a CBR lol... And while enjoying the ride, I get the comfort, storage, etc and all the other bagger advantages. Harleys are expensive, but the fit and finish, build quality, paint work, etc is all second to none. Triumph and BMW come close, but nobody can match HD for overall quality. So much more molded plastic, single stage paint, cheaper hardware, etc on nearly every other make.
I love my 2011 Road King, but, now I HAVE A PROBLEM. Thanks to you Doodle, LOL!! With a bad hip and a hip replacement in my future, {I'm 56} the lighter weight might help after my operation. Great vid Doodle, {as usual} God bless ya and BE SAFE!!
I bought the FXLRS in 2021 with plans to do exactly what they’ve done to the 2022 FXLRST. I am so mad that they changed the 2022 enough to make it so that I can’t even bolt the fairing onto my bike that’s only a year older. I’ll be getting the bags for sure at some point. Russ Wernimont’s prices are a bit extravagant for me at this time. So, I won’t even be getting the FXR fairing I’ve been wanting so badly. I am grateful to have this nimble Low Rider Special. There’s just so much potential of what I can do to make this bike mine. If only the money was there.
Very nice! I loved this video and your pure joy on riding this bagger. It is a bike that almost any rider would enjoy being on. Gives me something to day dream about, that's for sure! My favorite bagger was the RoadKing, which I owned in the early 2000's. I'm old now, and ride a Indian Scout, because it's light weight, low, and easy to handle. Ride and stay safe Doodle!
I’ve had my ‘23 FXLRS since last August and absolutely love it! I’ve been riding since 1982, and this bike just might be my all time favorite. I’ve done a lot to it. Advanblack ST fairing, and Advanblack hard luggage which have much greater capacity then the FXLRST bags, and are top opening. Also Ohlins suspension, but the stock Showa is actually pretty good, but the Ohlins, OMG! Also S&S 50 state exhaust. I’m having a blast on my first Harley.
Nice review! You have certainly come a long way from your earliest videos. It has been cool to watch you grow as a rider, your vlogs have gotten you into some pretty cool situations. The best riders try to be comfortable riding all types of bikes!
Just came across your channel. Love the content! I’m also 5’3” and you just helped me make up my mind. I thought I was going to be limited to the Sportster because of my height, but seeing you on the baggers made me feel a little better about going for what I want, the ST!
Yes I am with you all the way on this one as I am also 5'3" as well and am interested in this very bike and had concerns regarding this. Would really love to get one with the new 135ci stage 4 crate engine which I assume will not change the height of it but saving up for it and will take me some time. Right now riding a 2003 anniversary edition FXDWG and a 2020 FXDR 114 and have no problems with either one so after seeing her riding this (at 5'3" height as well) I don't think it would be a problem for either of us. Happy and Safe Riding!
Based on video, the bike looks like a perfect fit for you. I'm 5'9" and I really love the look of this bike but I felt like my knees were way up to my chest. Everything else about the bike was awesome and I see why the pegs need to be that way for lean angle. Good luck resisting the temptation!
For my long distance "I ain't coming home" trips I ride and older Electric Glide. My two favorite bikes that I'll also do long trips on are my Road King and a Heritage. Now my 4'11" daughter loves her early model Dyna Lowrider and was heart broken when they discontinued the Low Rider years ago. When they brought it back out she bought one right away and I cut a 1/2" out of the seat and dropped it another 3/4" and she won't even let her husband ride either one. Except as b___h! Miss Doodle, I'd personally enjoy seeing you riding the Low Rider and enjoying your touring. Good luck with your choices and let your husband get you an off roading bike so we can see both of you enjoying motorcycling. You are in my prayers Hoka Hey
So Paul Weiss's comment about using CFD was his way of saying that they used computers to analyze the aerodynamics of the bike in order to model the air flow around the bike and rider in order to develop that pocket he was talking about. CFD stands for Computational Fluid Dynamics, which is a bit of a strange name but air is just a very viscous fluid in terms of the calculations involved. When they perform these calculations, they use a lot of computers all at once to perform the calculations and develop the models.
I really like the looks of that bike but living in Texas and riding in 106 degree summer heat I prefer water cooled engines. I wouldn't consider a Harley bagger until they put the revolution max engine in one. I do believe that will happen at some point. I also believe they should keep air cooled versions available if they do start putting the rev max engine in them. Choice is always a good thing.
It sure did! I am so happy to have been standing right there as Doodle dismounted the bike, to get her raw - in the moment feedback. I'm still smiling!
Ha ha! I immediately recognized Santa Barbara, and just past that, looks like Gaviota beach. If it is Gaviota, i used to spend my summers there as an early teen, camping, hiking, and fishing from the pier. We used to climb up to that trestle and take the catwalk underneath and wait for the trains to pass over us.
I love your videos ...... 😊 😊 😊 so I just got my GSXR 750 for the second time ....... Becouse of you and a lot of other things i am back to riding after not riding for 18 years ..... Keep putting out these videos ...
Great review!!!! It seems it's a great bike for a lady or a dude that wants a bagger but has the feel of a lighter bike... the only thing missing is a tour pack. Keep up the great videos!!!!! Be safe and blessed!!!!
Doodle if you love that bike that much, you should at the very least ride it again. Take Harley up on their offer to send you one and take a trip. One thing I do know for sure, when you get off and say “ I Love it,” it’s the bike for you. Only way to really tell is to take a trip. You go kiddo!!!👍
Owning Multiple motorcycles nothing wrong with it. I have a Road Glide , KTM adventure bike, a Yamaha Sport Bike, and still have my 1st Harley 92 Softail Custom. with a couple more on the horizon to enter my collection. a Retro Bike and a Dual sport. Go for it Doodle. yolo ! I have owned 8 bikes in my lifetime wish and should have kept them all.
Hi Doodle hope you're keeping well as can be expected ? well it's our turn for the cold weather especially since it's winter here in Australia it's just a little bit harder getting out of a warm bed but it's certainly worth it when it comes to riding her ( new bike ) take care especially on the road love n friendships always Ritchie xxx
I got 2 (soon 3) original Low riders... the AMF ones. Also there the mid controls give more confidence for turns than the forward pegs. Handling of my 41 year old is excellent, very neutral once its laid over in a turn. The big big difference which I find way better on the old Low riders: the entire bike is much lower than the current ones, especially the handlebars. The old shovelhead Low rider stance, seating and handlebar wise is much closer to the current Breakout and miles away from the current Low rider. Since you do most your trips on baggers it seems logical to get one, no ?
Buy it. I own a 2020 Road Glide Special with RDRS, stage II torque cam, screaming eagle air breather, SE slip ons, stage II Rockford Fosgate, Legend REVO-A rear shocks, and a Saddlemen's gel seat.
Hey Doodle! I really like the shorter reviews/experience videos like this! Anyway, Harley Davidson have some really nice bikes, but I’d love to hear your opinion on a new Goldwing!
I like my version of the Goldwing, the F6C or Valkyrie. And it is beyond me why they stopped making them. The low rider S interests me, but living in tropical Australia, not so sure about the air cooling systems. Other bikes I like are the rocket and the dark horse, but off those four, still would pick the Valkyrie. Please please please bring out a new model, pretty please.
Hey DOM, awesome video...that Spock clip was epic! Those ports are a fantastic....have you added a wind screen to a bike and felt the pressure of the wind on the front until it was adjusted. I think the ports stabilize the effects of the cowl. Nice problem...bagger or no bagger. Love your channel...more please!
I have not ridden the lowrider st. I have rode a CVO road glide limited with the 117. It did put out a noticable improvement in power over the 114. I have rode a few softail models with the 114. They had really good power. I am sure the 117 is great on the lowrider st. Out of the electra glide limited, the road glide limited I found the electra glide limted to have the best wind protection. The street glide has the same fairing as the electra glide. I am taller than you at 6'3". I was surprised at how well the electra glide handled. I have rode the 2018 heritage. I prefer the older heritage. I bought a 2007 heritage.
A two into one would let you have a larger right side bag. I think this is an important point that the designers should have looked at and not the penny pinchers. I don't like design compromises.
@@csolivais1979 yea it's what harley-davidson do now. Start with a basic model and then raid the parts bin to produce a different range based on the base model street bob
Thing is a Blade for a Bagger. THIN. Cuts the wind. Very desirable. Long and thin. How big is the tank. If it is 5 gallons that alone would be worth it. I made a Warrior into a Bagger and this reminds me of it. Hope they have worked out the problems with the Mate8 engine. My brother in law has had troubles with 3 Mate8 engines on 3 bikes.
I really enjoy something about every motorcycle I’ve driven or owned. Even when a friend asks me to try their motorcycle. I’m like that in life. Look for what works for you and enjoy!!!! That Battleship Gray 😎 #LiveFree #HarleyDavidson

Y'know, I love the grey! And it seems to suit you too! Yep, even in the choice of having Black - I love the grey better. You look Happy on it too! Tell hubby it's the perfect present! And like you said it's "only"..$$...! Not like mega-expensive... Do you live out in the country where a dirt bike would be better? No. Sounds like to me it is quite easy to solve your..'problem'... Get one!
Make it about half that price and I'll consider it. No reason this bike should be more than 11k -12k! There are so many bikes that are equal or better for much less $.
I will agree the bike is very eager to lean over in the turns, which makes it a lot of fun. Aside from that, I was very disappointed after I rode it. I am only 5 ft 8 in tall, and the mid-mount peg's coupled with low handlebar height amd uncomfortable seat made my back hurt after a 30-minute ride. But my biggest complaint was the fairing, specifically the windshield height. Not only did I experience a lot of buffeting, but the wind noise was ridiculous. I realize these are things that could be fixed with the right amount of money, but if I'm already paying over 22,000 out the door without navigation or stereo, having to immediately purchase forward controls, taller windshield, a seat, different handlebar setup, and of course the exhaust...that's gonna be a no for me dog. I really wanted to like this bike, but I knew I made the right decision when I had more fun riding home on the Street Glide I rode there to potentially trade in. Sucks.
I’m going to swap my Street Bob for a Low Rider ST toward the end of the year. I want a small frame mounted fairing. The heavy fairing on the forks I’ve tried and do not like at all. I also don’t like the foot forward flour board position. I just feel like I can’t push the body weight around. The LRST sounds like Goldilocks, almost. What marketing twit put two pipes and a baby bag on one side? A pipe on each side with symmetrical bags would have looked so much nicer. Ah well. There’s always the aftermarket. Sigh.
I say go get one , if it feels that good and it’s so much fun to ride that HD. Sometimes you just know when you get on it. For me it was the 1250GS. Was just like custom made for me. 👍👌🍻
only thing i hate about the bike is the bags. i hate the side opening/clamshell bags. im taller so i would want the boards/pegs of the touring bikes. i seen where you can get a stereo for it, how much it is idk. i think if they offered the fairing on the road king it would have been a bigger hit because you have people like me who want the better bags, better rear shocks. thats just me though. glad you enjoyed it. i say if they want to loan you one go for it girl. take a good trip on it a few times. good vid
Omg yay I’ve been waiting on this video. Nice review!!! I wanted a grom so that we can go on off-road adventures but now that I see this…..Ugh I want it too.
I knew u were going to like it . I’m 5,5 and this bike is perfect for me but I have a 2020 FXLR rides better than the sporster and it has a big engine plus a soft tail , and price one can’t go wrong with it
The popular TH-cam reviewers like yourself seem to be in agreement this bike is awesome. Harley hit it out the park with this one (along with the pan am and new sportster. Harley seems to be on a roll as of late)

Waiting for you to try something other than a Harley Cruiser/bagger. Maybe even a modern one with Water cooling. 😉
Hey Doodle welcome to So CAL, loved your review. Harley Davidson is listening. You are a Rock Star! Keep it up.
Great show Doodle! You are really showing people the upside of riding all kinds of different bikes & in different situations! Nicely done! Cheers!
I'm not a big bagger fan but this actually sounds kind of nice. I can't wait for a full review from ya
this is the full review... i only rode it 1 day 😝
I want this bike!.. Sold out everywhere hopefully they will become available again. Love your channel 👍🏽
Love your videos. It’s great seeing you venture on all styles of bikes. Life long 2 wheel affectionado here!
Oh yeah ! I heard it ! We witnessed it ! They can ship one to you for a road trip ! YAY ! Another great opportunity awaits you ! Cheers Doodle ! 😃👍
You and that Low Rider ST make a good match. Looks like it was a wonderful experience. Blessings to you.
I very seldom see girls that are interested in motorcycles and I think you are an inspiration for everyone!!
Would love to hear and see Doodle on a
Goldwing, any possibility of that happening 🤔
Heck yeah!
I second that, sure should be nice to see her on a Goldwing. Doodle is pushing those Harleys hard which they need!
Based on video, the bike looks like a perfect fit for you. I'm 5'9" and I really love the look of this bike but I felt like my knees were way up to my chest. Everything else about the bike was awesome and I see why the pegs need to be that way for lean angle. Good luck resisting the temptation!
@Peter Angles Hmm? I just meant that the rider pegs seemed pretty high for someone my height. I was not suggesting that I was tall. LOL
You are in my prayers
Hoka Hey
So Paul Weiss's comment about using CFD was his way of saying that they used computers to analyze the aerodynamics of the bike in order to model the air flow around the bike and rider in order to develop that pocket he was talking about. CFD stands for Computational Fluid Dynamics, which is a bit of a strange name but air is just a very viscous fluid in terms of the calculations involved. When they perform these calculations, they use a lot of computers all at once to perform the calculations and develop the models.
CFD sounds good on paper, but they need to also do real world testing.
@@HD-on2eg Well of course they do. CFD is what gets it close though, so that they minimize the much more expensive process of real-world testing.
Hi Doodle, you made the Engineer's Day. I'm happy for you and him.
It sure did! I am so happy to have been standing right there as Doodle dismounted the bike, to get her raw - in the moment feedback. I'm still smiling!
@@SKIDIDDY74 :) Job well done!
Your enthusiasm for life is inspiring.
Awesome!! Glad you liked it!! Thank you 🙏
I love your videos ......
I love watching your enthusiasm and could tell you had a great tide nice video.
This is exactly what. this bike is for. You go young lady
The Spock cameo during the technical talk was a nice touch!
Hi Doodle
hope you're keeping well as can be expected ?
well it's our turn for the cold weather especially since it's winter here in Australia it's just a little bit harder getting out of a warm bed but it's certainly worth it when it comes to riding her
( new bike )
take care especially on the road
love n friendships always Ritchie xxx
I got 2 (soon 3) original Low riders... the AMF ones. Also there the mid controls give more confidence for turns than the forward pegs. Handling of my 41 year old is excellent, very neutral once its laid over in a turn. The big big difference which I find way better on the old Low riders: the entire bike is much lower than the current ones, especially the handlebars. The old shovelhead Low rider stance, seating and handlebar wise is much closer to the current Breakout and miles away from the current Low rider.
Since you do most your trips on baggers it seems logical to get one, no ?
Good insight 👏
This is a Street bob with bags and a fairing.
Sport Glide had that. Still had a smaller bag on the exhaust side.
@@therealrobertbirchall basically. Just has the CVO motor, which makes 20% (if I remember correctly) tourqe than the 114.
Modern FXRT is what it is. Great to see the Nova fairing resurrected.
I really enjoy something about every motorcycle I’ve driven or owned. Even when a friend asks me to try their motorcycle. I’m like that in life. Look for what works for you and enjoy!!!!
That Battleship Gray 😎

Harley's PR and marketing are top notch.
A lighter bike must make a big difference, for manovering, and more confidence at slower speed for a smaller person or newer rider.Like your channel Doodle, very easy format to watch, ride safe .From Sweden 🏍👍🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪❤️🙏
Get one!
I think you found your new ride! Fits you well. Looks like you can reach the ground comfortably. Hide the checkbook! 😀
Make it about half that price and I'll consider it. No reason this bike should be more than 11k -12k! There are so many bikes that are equal or better for much less $.
I do agree it is a bit over priced but there really isnt anything in that class with those features and build quality in the 11-15k price range.
Like what??
Every new bagger you get on is your favorite :) I know the feeling
0:43 ONLY $2,100!? What a huge deal!😮😅
Sucks.
I just purchased a new '24 model with the 117, couldn't be happier.
Sigh.
Your story telling is amazing, Doodlski! I love it
Great review! I love my '18 Sport Glide, but I'd be a liar if I didn't say that I really like the Low Rider ST! It's awesome!
Oohhh yeeeaahhhh!!!
That's the advantage of high windshield my friend.
I love watching this video 😍
Love your channel I’m 5’2 and can relate to the bigger bikes. I love this bike I’m going to take in for a test ride soon.
Napa/Sonoma was happy you came!!
Finally a bike that fits us short people. Makes me wanna go test ride one.
I like that overall design and the weight savings are a huge plus.
Great review as always Doodle...I hope you do get to use one of these on a trip as well.
The Spock clip is genius!!! I laughed so hard!
Note to Paul Weiss; 2 into 1 exhaust and make the bags identical in size! You will have the perfect bike!
The anti turbulence ports in the fairing are revolutionary !!!!!!
Thanks to you doodle. I bought the grey. So you do have influence. I just wish you bought one of your own. Ride to food has one.
I say go get one , if it feels that good and it’s so much fun to ride that HD. Sometimes you just know when you get on it. For me it was the 1250GS. Was just like custom made for me. 👍👌🍻
only thing i hate about the bike is the bags. i hate the side opening/clamshell bags. im taller so i would want the boards/pegs of the touring bikes. i seen where you can get a stereo for it, how much it is idk. i think if they offered the fairing on the road king it would have been a bigger hit because you have people like me who want the better bags, better rear shocks. thats just me though. glad you enjoyed it. i say if they want to loan you one go for it girl. take a good trip on it a few times. good vid
I love your enthusiasm! I have that too. Now I have a problem, I need to go try this bike out!😂
Sorry for this question but, Is there another chase on two wheels that I don’t know about?
Omg yay I’ve been waiting on this video. Nice review!!! I wanted a grom so that we can go on off-road adventures but now that I see this…..Ugh I want it too.
Really nice bikes... I love them all. My personal ride is a 2022 RGS (122 kit) and it is amazing!
It’s such a cool bike! Thanks for sharing!!!
Hey Doodle! Just passed the MSF course in Alpharetta today. Peter says hello! 👋🏽
So cool! Such a beautiful bike and rider. Great content, and I do value your opinions. Keep it up.
