@gropplife: Thank you for this video! Here in Germany and in Europe in general the RevMax platform is struggeling very hard. The only model that is doing half decent is the Sportster S. I've never seen a Nightster outside a dealership, bo joke. The PanAm is liked but not bought, the competition's just too stiff in the ADV segment. Yes it might be a little too late for the Bronx, and as much as I like the idea of a "Hooligian" PanAm I doubt it's success in terms of sales. So what should HD do with the RevMax platform? I know Germans are a bit teinted nowadays when it comes to Harley Davidson haha, but I feel the slickest move modelwise would be: The Lowrider S / ST on the RevMax platform. While bringing back the Superglide Sport / T-Sport on the revamped Softail platform.
I think there would be a lot of upset people if the revmax ended up in the low rider s/st hahaha. The only market I’ve heard the revmax bike do well in is Asia. It’s really not a bad motor just not mated with an exciting bike. Though the knightster to me is underrated and feels like there is a lot of potential there, especially after watching Krusei originals. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I had a Sportster S and changed to a Low Rider ST because I wanted to tour a bit more and the Sportster S was too small for me (187 cm with 105 kgs). I can sit on the LRST the whole day and the 117 Milwaukee 8 is lovely but I do miss the brutal power of the Rev Max 1250 quite often. It’s a beast and the Rev Max bikes are definitely underrated. I was quite happy with the resale value of the Sportster S though. I don’t think the Rev Max engine would fit the Low Rider but a Harley „Supercruiser“ based on the Rev Max would spank the ugly Buell project.
I beg to differ with you my friend. I doubt the Limited or Ultra will be discontinued and replaced with a add on touring package. Not happening. The new version of the Ultra / Limited will appear soon, may only be a RG or SG in 2025 but either will be here.
I'm actually hearing from a lot of sources here in Michigan they are going to discontinue it and make add-on packages for now I'm hearing from the dealers here in Michigan
@harleyquebecenrevue I’ve heard from multiple extremely reliable sources, both the Ultra and Limited will “go away” and will be packages that can be added on to the standard SG and RG.
I'd be surprised if they are still around come Jan 24th, multiple reliable sources have told me they're going to be packages rather than their own model.
Let me ask you guys this. Take a SG or RG and add this add on touring kit, a seat, a windshield, suspension and all the other goodies, say $10,000 worth to make a Ultra Limited out of it. I ride the bike for 3 years and what do you think the trade in value will be on this SG/RG ? It will be the same as a strip stock SG or RG value. Accessories have NO VALUE on trade in. That means it will be a loss of $10k plus the bike depreciation value. Then I’m suppose to buy a new SG/RG plus another $10k add on kit which will have no value when I trade that bike in ? Really ? And you all think this brilliant strategy will get more customer to buy new bikes in the future ?? If the SG / RG Ultra Limited does not return, then that will be then end of Harley for me as I will of just had enough of them. My thinking is we might have either a SG or RG Ultra in 2025, maybe both but I doubt either or both will not return in 2025. We will all see how reliable your sources are in a months time. I’m betting HD marketing can’t possibly be wishing themself out of business that eagerly.
