I am glad to see you used Pebeo Drawing Gum. It is my favorite. And I was pleasantly surprised that you used a ruling pen to apply the masking fluid. Many people have no idea what a ruling pen is or what it has been used for. Nice demo!
Jean, thank you for all of your generous sharing. You’re giving me licence to paint more freely, to loosen up, to not have lines to paint within, if I choose. Love your demonstrations, and so appreciate when you say you rather like how something looks! Keep safe!
Before computers, printers, and technical drawing software existed, all engineers, architects, and draftsmen worked with Ruling pens and Indian ink. all the drawing boxes included several!
Jean - I'm BLOWN AWAY by your skills and your teaching style. I am just starting with watercolors. I was GIFTED the Arteza half pans by arteza to show on my channel...but I wanted to ask you - if you don't mind - what would you suggest that a beginner watercolor artist (like myself) BUY initially as a "set" of fluid watercolors in the tube? I see you have a thousand different paints, like I have for acrylics. lol. But if you were to recommend one initial brand and set - what would it be? thanks in advance.
You're such an inspiration ,Jean! I been needing to play with textures again. I had a great experience last time I played with masking fluid as well as molding paste and gel medium. And nothing beats kosher salt ! Tytyty keep the great videos coming.
Thank you Jean this is lovely tutorial I used to paint watercolor with pebeo brand they are not in good quality but I would love to buy pebeo masking fluid. This is useful video
In UK it's giant hogweed and sometimes common hogweed that causes rashes, not the smaller similar looking cow parsley growing earlier in the season...just in case some people worry about touching it
watching from from the ipad, you tube app..... you will find a small triangle under the video (when it is not expanded to full screen). Touch it, it will then open the etc info... hope this helps
Pebeo Brand masking fluid did not work for me. I ruined 2 paintings with this masking fluid. It left a blue stain on the paper that would not come off. I had used the Hobby Lobby brand, Master Touch 300 gsm paper

Using a pallet knife to splatter the masking fluid is genius! I am going to try it!!
That is so pretty Jean. Please post more demos. I love what you do. It’s exciting and inspiring :)

We in US call the giant plant with white flowers, cow parsley.
Thank you for making this short! I looked for directions, I don't have 30 minutes..You never disappoint! Love it and you!🥰
Now I know what ruling pens are for...!
Hi, Jean: Missing you and your watercolor posts. Hope all is well with you.
i realize it's pretty off topic but does anybody know a good place to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Leroy Beckett try Flixzone. Just google for it =)
@Anders Ramon Yup, have been watching on Flixzone for years myself :D
@Anders Ramon thanks, I went there and it seems to work :) Appreciate it!!
@Leroy Beckett No problem =)
Thanks for this! I bought a ruling pen and don’t know how to use it.
❤
One of the features of Pebeo is that it is the only masking that I can blow dry and it stills removes cleanly.
REally good to know. Thanks for sharing.
🌹
Pebeo drawing gum is the absolute business and this video is worth it just for that recommendation. Other stuff just to tears up the paper.
Hi Jean can’t seem to find the list of materials which you said we would find underneath the video -can you help.?
Click on the words Show More below the video.
Click on the words "See more" and you will see a drop down with the materials listed.

Lol... I have the same ruling pen. Its the only thing that works for thin lines when laying down masking fluid.
😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️

Does the ruling pen scratch the paper thanks
I don't find that it scratches the paper Christine.
I can’t find those words ‘see more’ .. Perhaps here in Australia we are not getting the full video
Below the video is some text and below that it says SHOW MORE in caps. Click on that. You should be able to access this anywhere in the world.
@@JeanLurssen Jean - interesting that those words appear when I watch your video on my computer, but not on my i-pad. Thanks for your reply. W
