I would like to see more reviews on the Western Star trucks, I'm planning to get a 57x in the near future, but I don't see anyone doing videos on them. Great video
Not a lot of 57Xs out there, in all reality. But they're great trucks. Most companies just go with Cascadia because they're priced lower. But, if you're an owner op, looking for comfort and fuel economy, the 57X is the way to go. We have allocations and could have one built and delivered in a matter of a couple months right now.
There was a lot of love for the older generations, industry-wide; but innovations had to be made to accommodate technology that is becoming more and more common in the industry. They found a good balance point
It shares the same sleeper shell as the Cascadia, but Western Star offers many more options, inside and out. If you’ve ever needed to find parts for the older Star sleepers - you’ll appreciate this change 👍
Pretty negative comments I’m reading , Its a beautiful truck , I drive a x49 dump truck and love it. I had my own 2000 4964SX dump truck and loved that truck too. But as classy as the old school stars were , they were getting a bit long in the tooth. Sure I can see some Mercedes DNA in the new ones. Doesn’t bother me , Thanks for showing the truck :)
Appreciate the comment! Lots of tech updates, engine updates, better fuel economy, and so quiet and comfortable. I’ll always appreciate the old 4900 s/f Stars, the 5700s, and the vocational 4700s - but these will catch on very quickly! Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks for watching. Everyone has a preference. PACCAR and DTNA both have commonalities among their respective OEMs, and there are great reasons for this. I’ll do a video explaining the reason for this, and how it benefits the customer in many ways.
Then dash board seems like it would set the manual transmission stick back. Making the arm in an uncomfortable position. I was going to get one next year but I will probably go with a cascadia manual. The dash on the star comes into the cab too much. And again effects the placement of the stick
If I can help you get this Cascadia you're wanting - feel free to give me a call anytime. I have a few of these Stars on the yard too, if you'd like to sit in one and see how it feels. Realistically, it's the same wing-shape dash as the Cascadia - so it probably wouldn't make a difference, as far as the configuration of the shifter relative to the dash.
Thanks for watching, and sharing the feedback 🙏🏼 If you’re ever in the area, and would like to see how one of these ride - feel free to give me a call any time. Merry Christmas 🎄
Yes, but there are so many other variables to it than rear end. Horsepower/torque, transmission/transmission gearing - overdrive/direct drive, wheel/tire size, that really it's almost impossible to try to compare apples to apples.
Nothing like a low-max - I hear ya. That’s a timeless truck. But time goes on, and the industry demands innovation. With that being said, FRTL/WST handled that challenge incredibly well.
It is an option. If you check out my previous video, of the yellow Cascadia, I demonstrate DTNA’s optional digital dash. No other manufacturers have anything like it. Another example of FRTL/WST being years ahead of the competition🥇
I wouldn't buy one of these as a bad joke. Daimler Benz has ruined Western Star, Freightliner, and The Chrysler Corporation. Everything they touch turns to SHIT !
@@MidwestBestHDTrucks HEHEHE ! Aw I hit a nerve talking about the shitty equipment you sell, so sorry ! I spent the better part of my life as a professional driver and I've driven lots of trucks and I know what I'm talking about. How many trucks have you driven for a living little skippy ??? Western Star was a pretty good old truck before they sold out and like I said before when I hurt your feelings I wouldn't own one of those pieces of SHIT ! If I was a trucker, I would buy this baby!!! BEAUTIFUL!!

Wow it's about time western star made a good looking truck very impressed

Is mostly a Cascadia with western star badge
It shares the same sleeper shell as the Cascadia, but Western Star offers many more options, inside and out. If you’ve ever needed to find parts for the older Star sleepers - you’ll appreciate this change 👍
That is an awesome truck dawg!!!
Nothing but the best from TRUCK CENTET COMPANIES - Mankato! Obviously!
Nice Cascadia .Western star is done.
This is a Western Star. Are you confused?
It's the same truck just some fancy makeup on it.plus a bigger price tag.prove me wrong

My cascadia looks exactly the same
No it doesn’t. That’s impossible.
@@MidwestBestHDTrucks You got a different hood the inside has as much plastic as a cascadia ..Wow the mirrors aren't the same .
Nothing special, a freightliner sleeper with a different hood.
Thanks for watching. Everyone has a preference. PACCAR and DTNA both have commonalities among their respective OEMs, and there are great reasons for this. I’ll do a video explaining the reason for this, and how it benefits the customer in many ways.
It's just about cost savings for the manufacturer. Nothing but a rebadged freightshaker.
wrong
Exactly what I was thinking forgot we were looking at a western star
That’s all it is. A Freightliner Cascadia with a bigger hood
Should have just called it the new Coronado
We all miss the Coronado!🙁 The are slick!

Real wood? Or plastic wood?
the realest
I'd buy one if it wasn't for Daimler building the 49x and 57x with cab air springs inside the frame rails like the brainshaking Freightliners.

Obviously, you haven't ridden in the new Star...BEST ride on the road. I would guess you have incurable red oval disease...
Many such cases…. Sad.
What type of engin
Detroit DD15
What more do one need.😊
That’s what I’m saying!!👌
Now. This is a real truck.
Well give me a call and let's get one spec'd out for you!
308 rears are great if your s flat lander ! When you hit the hills you can't grab gears quick enough😂
Yes, but there are so many other variables to it than rear end. Horsepower/torque, transmission/transmission gearing - overdrive/direct drive, wheel/tire size, that really it's almost impossible to try to compare apples to apples.
So it’s a fancy cascadia
yes
❤ 🇨🇦
Respect to the Canadian subscribers!! Some BEAUTIFUL Stars up there, I’m always seeing. Have a blessed New Year!🫡🎉
Price?
Hey Thomas, give me a shout and we can talk pricing on the Stars I have available 👍👍
Evendoe its a casscadia its still nice
Hey thanks! BUT it's not a Cascadia. It's a Western STAR.
you sure this isn’t a freightliner ?
are you confused?
A freightliner with a different good...Western Star is coping hard after getting rid of the 4900's.
Can iput 15k down?
Give me a call, sir, and we’ll find a way to get you into this truck if it’s what you want! 2024 making dreams come true 👍
I see o wood in back like older w stars all plastic now
MAD RESPECT to the older Western Stars - but newer Western Stars are the most comfortable and fuel efficient trucks on the road!!
None of them are worth the $$ or the B/S that goes with them..
Very insightful!
This doesn't blow wind compared to the old 4900ex lol purple ha😅

Same as all the rest
Wrong.
2024 and no infotainment screen.....hmmmmm

There is no such thing as Daimler Benz, Daimler-Chrysler, or Daimler AG anymore. The nineties called, they want their joke back…

Glorified freightliner cascadia 😅
NO!!
All that spinning around gives me a headache
In the end…it’s a glorified Freightliner🙄
not true!!!
All new trucks way over priced...JUNK is what they are.
How do you figure?
It looks pathetic not a true western star
WRONG, silly.
Junk truck.
WRONG!
Pile of crap for the money
