I was born here in Finland in 1990. I have no words to describe how much this song means to me. This and "Revolution in Paradise" by Heath Hunter were the first songs I remember listening to when I was a kid. I really loved this song and still do! This song brings back so much memories. Fun story. When I was in Air Cadets, I was taking a two-week survival camp. As our "Final test" we had to pretend that we were in a survival situation with a partner. Even though there were other camps within in a few meters of each other, we had to pretend that there was nobody around. Yet at one point, one camp started signing this, and everyone else chimed in lol. Side note, I love it whenever we would do "Captain Jack" when we were marching for funsies.
Fun fact, when I was in cadets, I did nijmegen, and we played this song on training a lot

Captain Jack should be recognized for his heroic actions on June 9, 1984, in Omaha, Nebraska. His detachment came under devastating enemy fire from a strong high-fructose corn syrup force, pinning the soldiers to the ground for a period of four hours. Jack advanced voluntarily and alone toward the enemy position using music to draw their fire and destroyed three hostile trains packed full of corn starch before he was beaten into a coma. A true hero! Unfortunately, cane sugar lost the war for America. However, they remain strong in every other country. October 22, 2005 was a dark day and I will continue to mourn his death on that day every year. The official reports do not link his cerebral haemorrhage to the severe brain injury that he sustained on the Nebraskan cornfield but I personally believe that the trauma weakened the vasculature in his brain.
