I'm in CA so used to expensive everything. Planning to get the LM2 in a refreshed Sierra when I can get my hands on one. Never had a diesel before. Didn't really pay a lot of attention to diesel for a lot of years but I put regular in my car and premium in my moto so I know those two numbers. Gotta say, Bribem hasn't done me any favors with the fuel prices. Diesel varies. Sometimes about what regular is and sometimes close to or slightly higher than premium here. As of late seems to be about $4.75-$5.00/gallon.
Anyway excited to get the truck if/when that happens so I can sell my '07 Civic. Been a great car but I'm tired of sitting so damn low and stuffing my boy in the back seat of a coupe.
I have a 2001 half ton silverado with 280,000 miles. Wouldn't ever be able to afford a new one, but interested in the smaller diesel. Good run down vid, thanks for sharing.

Great video. I have a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 3.0 Duramax. I average 29mpg unloaded and towing between 7500lbs and 9000lbs 15mpg to 17mpg. I have a Banks Pedal Monster with the iDash and just ordered the S&B cold air intake. Can't wait to tow with the S&B installed.
Nice looking truck. I wish they would have gad a larger selection when I bought mine. I had a choice of silver or gray and tool the gray one because it had the 6.5ft bed.

It is great. I keep it on the City setting at 5 which is half way up. If I want to have some I put it in Track at the fullest setting. Usually end up spinning the back tires pretty hard.
I've looked into them seem pretty cool for sure I just can't see spending the money wish I had it you know
Another great video. Glad to see the 3.0 continue to be a great workhorse. I'm still loving mine. I often drive around with the radio turned down so I can hear the wonderful music that the little 3.0 makes. I'm still amazed at how smooth and refined this engine is.
Oh yeah so far so good I'm very happy with this truck and with the S&B intake love hearing the turbo noise
For better stability to prevent shaking switch on awd high , front axle really helps with it

Exactly that is one of the main reasons I picked up this truck was sick of getting 14 to 15 mpg everywhere I went and I drive alot so saves me acouple 100 in fuel every month

Beautiful truck! I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the 5.3 V8 standard cab that was my grandpa's. But I would love to have a truck just like yours but with the High Country package 😁.

Towing a 8x4x12 dump trailer loaded with about 7/8 thousand pounds i get 19mpg with out towing i average 36 mpg and my best was at 42mpg

"Mini-max"....MPG in this truck really fluctuates with speed. At 72 empty I can get 26 or so. Add 2k lb truck camper in back fully loaded it drops to about 18. The truck has a 180deg tranny T-stat...so it really shouldn't ever drop below that once it's warmed up.
What kind of truck camper do you have sir?
I bought a 2021 rst 5.3 and I’m getting 12-13 mpg pulling a little 6x12 trailer with mowing equipment
That sounds about right for a gasser my 2016 I had got about 10mpg towing my 8x12 enclosed snowmobile trailer

@@KotaBearTV not so good lol. Online lied to me it didn't have the z71 package and I was also looking at a trail boss but they wanted 71k out the door lmfao. I said piece out!
Bastards lied and yeah the market right now is insane ans the trail boss is crazy expensive for sure

max tow package did not come out till the 2022 model
Decided to build a GMC 1500 2022 with a diesel although ima bit nervous as I know little about trucks and don’t want to get into something difficult. I don’t tow much and I drive daily to work on highways about 50 miles a day back and forth. Really just wanted a truck that could get decent gas mileage and could take the family on trips. Any tips?
i think that will be a great truck for you just make sure you use your additives in the winter if you live somewhere cold and dont do a ton of city driving all the time and you should be fine
You can now pretty much achieve max capacity with the upcoming 2022 model and better capabilities thanks to 3.73:1 axle ratio (may dip a few mpgs unloaded but much more grunt down low with less effort on the pedal and worth the money) Ford stupidly axed their ministroker for in favor of their powerboost motor, and unfortunately Nissan axed their v8 powered Cummins in the Titan XD (which i believe a 5/8 ton is a better choice for your working needs).
For sure can I hope I can get my hands on the new 2022 and c how it is and that's crazy I haven't look much into the other trucks I'm shocked they axed them
@@KotaBearTV and to add to that, a new gut (interior) is refined and refreshing and the technology is more advanced with super cruise while pulling a trailer and more other goodies.

@@KotaBearTV LT, RST, LTZ and High Country all get the new interior. Only WT and Customs get the old one for 2022 refresh.

I towed 11k 2 times today and the highest I saw was 203 but usually its like 190 to 200

Beefier suspension different rear end and different intercooler I believe
@@KotaBearTV gents the gearing for max trailer option goes from 3.23 to 3.73. Big leveraging there

2021 you will not be able to only 22 and up models!
@@KotaBearTV yes figured this out from the dealer! It’s a shame, it’s like the 2022 duramax is a semi heavy duty! Simply amazing! Makes me want to trade it in! Mine also has the long crank issue!
