    To everyone bitching about that Toyota truck being crushed and/or not being parted, look at how the bed is flopping off when Rick has it lifted by the roof. It is obviously a manufacturer buyback from the infamous frame rot recall. Under no circumstance is that truck safe to drive and it is right where it belongs. Often these buybacks may stipulate that the truck be destroyed in complete condition and that the yard can not profit off of its usable parts, which was the likely the case here.

      +Anthony Slanda Yea I was surprised it flopped that easy.

      toyota could have paid for a new frame, like they did for a couple people I know with these trucks

    Hard to watch that Tacoma get Crushed but I bet the frame was rusted out Based on how it was buckled at 4:46. First gen Tacoma were the worst for frame rot especially in places like Ontario (salt+winter). Probably still had a bunch of sweet part on it thougth.

    "That WAS a junker, right?" "It is now!" LMAO The neat thing with these segments is they're really entertaining but you always learn something. Go Rick!

    It could be an Insurance situation. The car could still run. But due to water damage/impact damage/etc, it could cost more than the car is valued to repair it. So the car is marked Totalled, Insurance writes it off, and the car has to be scrapped.

    ARG, I prayed not to see an Astro/Safari getting scrapped in this segment :(

    Ooooh, while funny, this episode was hard to watch. That truck looked and sounded like it ran perfectly fine. And here I am sitting in the damn freezing snow waiting for the always late transit bus...

    you would think they would take the vehicle completely apart....body parts, windshield, lights..things were still good on those vehicles...why not sell those parts instead of people having to buy brand new...no wonder the insurance writes cars off... If body shops could have access to those parts instead of having to buy new, the cost of repairing would be worth it and maybe perfectly good vehicles would have a second chance.

    Canada has way more money than America. and were smarter with it too. the Canadian national debt is 1 trillion dollars. that might seem like a lot but compared too america, its nothing. your debt is $14,710,000,000,000.

  • @msphillycheeze

    This is a great option! For all those OLD CARS sitting in your garage, or those ones that simply cost to much to repair, send it to a SCRAP CAR RECYCLING COMPANY. I think companies like these are taking valuable metals, fluids, etc. and making money. Simultaneously, they are saving space in the landfills and accepting cars that would otherwise release too much carbon dioxide. You are applauded.

  • @JJ0TT641
    @JJ0TT641 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    In the United States 90% of those cars would be on the road still. The other 10% would have been torn down and sold the parts. That's why we have more money

    What is this show Canadas version of Dirty Jobs w Mike Rowe? This host is very unlikable... sucks to because this series has some pretty cool things they cover.
