OMG!!! What a beautiful layout!! My brother and I had an Aurora setup in our basement when we were kids. I believe it was after the vibrator cars and it had those great speed controllers with a wheel and a speedo dial. We had so many hours of fun with that set, many of our friends would bring their cars over to run on our track. We had the Pan America Mexico layout on top of a sheet of plywood.

My power source is exclusively AC which the vibes are specifically designed for and in fact gets the best performance out of these motors. Actually quite an Ingenious design by Derek Brand. My layout pays tribute to these vibrators. I love em! 😉
I've watched your video several times. Magnificent layout. The Sniff and the Tears song is perfect, It reminds me of my first year of marriage to my late wife. Absolutely love and appreciate your comment! Apologies for not seeing it sooner. Michael saw an earlier rendition (see my oldest videos on this channel) which was the plywood simply sitting in saw horses. After putting that together and having newer ideas for improvement, I reconstructed this after his passing. I do indeed wish he could’ve not only seen this, but he would enjoy all the videos as well. Tho I agree with you, I’m certain he can see it now… ❤️
I always thought the T.jets gearing was too high to allow them to run around a layout at a constant speed without constantly adjusting the speed control. The vibrator design seemed best for "model motoring".

Thank you. All my cars ride on Aurora Model Motoring Vibrator chassis, precursor to the Tjet arrival in 1963. The vibes are a tad smaller (@1/76) than the tjets (@1/72) so they look best with my HO scale (1/87) buildings which are a mix of Tyco, Walthers, Barmills models, plasticville, and lifelike.

Still missing is an american gas station an some other buildings. Maybe this fall i get started with that layout. Now is the time for motocycling.
