    These are great insights! Valuable info for shorter boxers. Great example with Inoue vs Fulton.

    The video very helpful open my mind to another tactics against long reach and tallwr opponent. But I think another good tactic against those fighters is "counter the counter" bait them while pressure them in safe distance give them a miss punch and then make them pay. Again very helpul video. 🙏

      Thanks, I am glad it was helpful. You are right that tactic might be a progression from the video. Once you have your distance down, is easier to bait them for sure

    I'm new to boxing and your video has been helpful. Seeing that Inoue is so calculating, an unpredictable boxer will give him more trouble than a technical fighter? This would work against shorter fighter too?

    • @delcardo_boxing
      @delcardo_boxing  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am glad to hear it was helpful 🔥. It is hard to tell, depends on the fighter in question. But one definitively wants to mix it up for better results. Inoue did not countered every single time he had a chance. Against a shorter opponent this technique is more risky. A few reasons why are: 1-punches coming from underneath are harder to read and defend 2- having a lower center of gravity might end up pushing you back. Tank Davis build his career punching with taller opponents for this reason. Against shorter opponents is a combination of faints and smothers. My video on Boots and Lubin touch on those topics a little bit.

    Nice breakdown! What I noticed in a lot of the exchanges was that Inoue, despite already being shorter than Fulton, was in a 'crouching' position most of the time, forcing Fulton to punch downwards which left his head open on multiple occasions, leading to the counters.
    One problem I have is against much taller fighters in my weight class. Despite being featherweight, some of my opponents are 6 ft tall and their reach far exceeds mine, to the point where even though my lead foot is far from their lead foot they could easily jab me and use footwork to frame and create openings.
    Do you think I should improve my explosive power to close the distance faster, improve my head movement, or improve my high guard while at a distance?

    • @delcardo_boxing
      @delcardo_boxing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Definitively your head movement and explosiveness coming in.
      The distance you must be away from your opponent changes depending on how tall and explosive they are.
      So, the first step is to find the distance on which you are "comfortable to defend".
      I realize this feels like a mile away.
      From here you can see their punches coming and you are able to punch with them or counter.
      I recommend you develop your slip jab and cross. In general any punch with the head off center. This way you can cover the distance reducing the chances of walking in to a shot.
      Hope all this helps.

      He used to use Winnings. But since the rematch with Nonito I believe he uses Cletos.
