Cody Webb takes us through what it takes to make his Yamaha YZ250X into a hard enduro race weapon. Fresh off of the King of the Motos, learn about his bLU cRU smoker.
Everybody is waiting when the Yamaha will make a new hard enduro weapon for a 20 years! I don’t believe that they can’t! It will be a blast! It will be a new erah when the blue ones will be better than every others taken together! And Cody will help with the build.
Brother… the amount of aftermarket parts for these things out is endless, you can make these in to quite a competitive enduro bike already. the aftermarket for a yz250/yz250x is already so out of pocket
I’ve always loved the old school two stroke bikes. Main reason why I bought the 2022 yz250x. Kick start and carbed. Something I can fix myself. I hear what you say about the mud and needing E start LOL. I live in Maui and I’m lucky that I have a thousand acres of trails to ride 30 seconds from my house. It’s been so muddy, some of it is hard packed clay that is similar to ice. I wish I had E Start the other day haha. I just spent well over 3k on my bike, after watching this it looks like I’ll be spending a little bit more lol. If you ever find yourself in Maui and want to ride let me know, all the enduro riders here are very cool, most of the trails are too advanced for me so I watch and learn and or charge and crash. Great interview, love all your vids.
Such a awesome video!! Beautiful build. Hopefully we get to see yz make a huge step in off-road racing. Cody seems like a great rider with some smarts to help yamaha. It would be nice to see more videos on Cody and other riders and bike build 🤙.
I just watched Cody's 1.5 hour youtube video on the qulifier round from King of the Hammers. Amazing stuff! That modded bike is pretty damn cool! So is Cody's riding.
@@codywebb2 it's such a minimal cut and the cutter doesn't touch the inside tube. I never noticed any difference after the modification. I love that twinwalls are almost impossible to bend.
It's such low hanging fruit for Yamaha to invest pennies in this platform to make it super competitive. I hope Cody's success in spite of them motivates them to do just that.
Lectron's don't offer a pro like Cody any advantages over a regular carb. Pro's don't need a carb to self-adjust for altitude and barometric pressure, which is one of the only actual advantages a "smart carb" has. the disadvantages are many; cost - price, availability, durability, and longevity complexity - more parts, more seals, more potential points of failure, and more maintenance. performance - smart carbs have larger range of operation, but at the cost of fidelity (metering accuracy), where as a traditional carb might have a much smaller range of operation, it will have higher accuracy within that range. So, if both types of carbs are were tuned "perfectly", the traditionally carb will be more responsive throughout the entire rev range and also have a safer margin from detonation (because all a smart carb does is lean out the main circuit) long story short. "smart" carbs are for "dumb" guys. guys that can't tune, basically. For your average trail wanker that rides in all kinds of conditions/altitudes and has never even seen the inside of a carb, much less tuned one, they make a lot of sense. For a pro racer like Cody, they're useless.
@oliverdurgen5953 You have way too much time on your hands. The Lectron drastically increased the top end on my 300. Haven't touched it in 5 years. Most of your bs is your opinion, which I'm not interested in.
Keef PLEAASSSEE use those connections of yours to let @yamaha executives know we NEED a yz300 + yz150. I'm tempted to import a fantic 😂 im hoping that's yamahas testing platform and we will get a yz300 in 2/3 years. A yz350f would be nice to. WE would steal ktms base. Ktms quality in 2025 is way down! Lets Capitalize money

Cody with his 250x... Kawi announcing a 2 stroke woods bike... It's looking like a good future!

Everybody is stoked on Cody and the 250x. Hopefully the aftermarket gets involved and we can all start building budget trail/enduro bikes out of em.

Bike is looking awesome!🔥🔥 We're so glad to be a part of it.
@@rmatvmc Thank you for the correct “a part”! 😂😂
Glad to be a part of this build!
Scar foot peg bolts
All smiles for Cody and Yamaha!!!
Excellent interview. Kris and Cody for the people!
So stoked to see him bringing ASV to his program. Cody is awesome. Can’t wait to watch him win on that bike. It’s coming! Go Cody! 🔥👏🙌
Very cool thanks for sharing Keefer!
Great video Keefer. It’s cool to hear from a rider so in tune with the bike.
solid review and walk around by 2 professionals!

Great interview, love all your vids.
Never thought about that, the riders who develop and test these bikes deserve more credit when the oem puts their mods into production.
.. Great interview. Wish Cody a stellar season! ...

😂 somebody needs to put out the Cody Webb 'Factory edition' 250
The one you can smoke your buddies' 300s on 🔥
Great interview! The multiple rimlocks with bib and tube combo is interesting.
That bike is so f’n sick! 💯
beyond cool
Love BluCru!!
Thanks Keefer!!!
Great interview
I ran a 6 oz flywheel on mine which really widened the power band without hurting the top end
Would love to see you test the Hitlis Keefer !! See what it feels like for a moto application.
💙 bLU cRU!!
Excellent media ✌🏼🏁🏜️
Great stuff. Would love an update after he’s done more of the development/ dial-in he mentioned.
Nice, thanks!
Great convention, very informative 👍
Ive used a pipe cutter to cut 1/4" off the outer wall of my twinwall bars to make room in the lever area.
Never had any issues after I’m assuming?

I have peg bolts that use lock nut , you need that. Scar foot peg bolts.
23:33 daaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrkkkkkkkkkkkkk
All the stuff we all wantttt

I wish i could ride that thing
ME TOO!!!!!!!
Looks like a house with very high ceilings lol
Is he running a KTM style petcock? I’m interested in how he made that work?
Smart carb
Is that brembo kit for the public or still testing? I have a magura but id love the brembo
How come no lectron carb?
Steve's house?
9:33 same🤣🤣
Great stuff! Why not use a Lectron?

I love my renthal blue twin wall bars on my yz125 and yz250 2 stroke I hate fat bars
Super !!! Let Yamaha made a wr250 or wr300 off-road 2 stroke again
Did they say why rear doesn’t spin easy
Bent shark fin?
Quite interrupting Cody and let him finish your question.
So pretty much turned it into a KTM. OK

Magura clutches aren't reliable either
Cody is smart he knows the New England struggle of wet rocks and roots
