That Distant Shore or Let Us Adore You are two really beautiful songs from Steven Universe that I would love a reaction to.
I’ve gotta recommend “love like you” since it’s an absolute classic of the show, being the end credits of season 1-5 and it’s just a really pretty song

Full disclosure is debatably one of the best Steven Universe song
Do it for her actually comes after Full Disclosure, this song is basically Steven starting to grow up and lose his innocent view of the world. He's starting to realize the things he does and goes through aren't normal and can be extremely dangerous, because when he was telling his dad about the traumatic experience that just happened to him he didn't realize how big of a deal it was until he saw his dad panicking but trying to hide it from him. He was going to tell Connie about what happened too, but when he saw that reaction he started getting scared that she would react like that and not want to be friends anymore, or worse she would get dragged into his messes and get hurt
I definitely recommend you check out "Let's only think about love" from Stevie Universe :).
That ones literally just a summary of the entire series up to that point. Don’t watch it if you’re planning on watching the show as a whole.

The use of the ringtone is very creative
Just a quick note! Timeline wise, this song actually comes after Garnet's "Made of Love" and the entire fight scene/ship crashing during/after the song. Steven in this song decides that Gem stuff could be too dangerous for his human friend. "Do it for her" comes after this one, when Connie decides to start sword fighting so she can be by his side/help him out with Gem stuff.

As someone who advocates for people to watch the show, I am glad you are getting into this and mad that somehow you reacted to the one song with spoilers for the episode before it. A lot of songs have lyrics that are spoilers if you know the characters and what they are talking about, but this is one of the only ones that actually has clips from other episodes. Luckily you were headbanging during the most important parts. Ah, headbanging saves the day again. Those concussions were worth it.

I love that you are going through all these steven universe songs. First because i get to hear your reasctions to the story of the songs. But then getting to see you go through the actual musical progressions is very cool.
My favorite thing about this song is the way the cell phone ringtone--which had been a repeated motif all episode--becomes a part of the music, to the point that the whole song cuts off abruptly when Steven stops letting it go to voice mail and just hangs up on her. I generally really like things that mess with the boundary between diegetic and extradiegetic music, or just straight-up blend the two like this did.

looking back at this song i find it so sad, steven wants connie to be safe and doesnt know what to do if she gets hurt, and when he glanced at the destruction of the gem ship i understood that steven understood gem stuff was very dangrous and could cause deadly and painful injuries and doesnt want connie to get caught up in a fight and get hurt, and the next song being connie showing that she isnt afraid and also just wants to protect steven as much as he wants to protect her, its really sad + sweet

Yo, if you haven't seen the Beastars op I highly recommend it. It is partially in Japanese and is only about a minute long, so I recommend the English version by We.B sung by the main character's English dub voice actor. It is one of my all-time favorite songs.

I realize this isn't steven universe related or show related but Zalinki (The animator on yt) has some really good music, like "Tired of the noise" and "Insane" - pretty unique stuff that not a lot of people talk about

I'd love you to do a single song score comparison with 3 versions of it. "Bad Apple" is a song I keep recommending, and the message is always the same but the way the music is done in each reflects different emotions that hit differently. There's a music box version (2013 version), a rock version, and an orchestra version. The music box and rock have English dubbing, but the orchestra is in Japanese. Would love to see or hear your thoughts because it's able to rival the compilation version of "Mighty U". The song is almost an anthem for those of us with social anxiety, depression, and low self confidence, expressing how we all struggle with asking for help and how we will feel after asking for it.
btw these would be played on a ukulele so some of them may have weird cords
