Moved to Sandpoint in 1957 on a ranch out at Jewel Lake. Graduated in 1967. Not Sandpoint any more, to be expected, places and people change and move on. Always was not an easy place to live but other things made it worthwhile.

My step-mom was from Sandpoint. My family every summer would go out there for dad's vaction for two weeks. We would put up hay bales, get sweaty and dirty, swim in the lakes and streams, fish, have fun on the grandparents farm and invent our own activities. Many years later, I would attend a well known bluegrass festival when I lived 100 miles east in Sanders Co. Now, Sandpoint is unlivable. Housing is expensive to no end, overcrowded, and intolerable. I have no desire to ever return. All the people I knew in the early 60s are gone. I am almost gone, but much of the scenery is still there if it hasn't been developed and trashed by settlers from out of state. Idaho is full of gun nuts that would shoot anybody if they can get away with it. They don't tolerate "liberal" thinking or Joe Biden-ism

Born and raised and still live in sandpoint. Would love if maybe all you retired and rich people would stop moving here. You drive up property and rent prices so high no actual locals can live here anymore. Meanwhile you dont help the local job market. Realtors, especially out of State realtors can't seem to leave a nice area alone. They want all the big-city trappings they left behind in California.
