For enthusiasts, I think it is not even a dilema. It is worth it. For everyone else, I think the non-pro model will do the job just as well and I believe it is going to be their all-time best-seller. However, due to its camera, it will have to compete with the Mi 11. And that will be the pain in the A** for many of the potential buyers who have to choose.

It has come to a point where I'm bored of OnePlus. I've been a fan from day one and a customer for four years. OnePlus has given up everything that made it a unique and exciting brand. At 970$ I really don't understand why people still buy OnePlus. The Samsung s21 ultra is going for about 1050$ here in the UAE. Samsung has a better track record of updating their phones than OnePlus, the s10 is running android 11 while the OnePlus 7 pro is still running android 10. in addition, Samsung has better after sale support, at least where I live, compared to OnePlus.

One thing that frustrates me about phone reviews, very few talk about the most important aspect. That's connectivity or rather the antenna. What really made OnePlus popular was the dual antenna which allowed for better connectivity and better speeds by taking advantage of how cell towers actually work. Unfortunately, since the OnePlus 6, that is never really talked about anymore, can't seem to find out if OnePlus still uses a dual antenna anymore. Can't find much on Google about it or in the phone specs. The OnePlus 6 antenna was it's big selling point, which the company promoted hard as the thing that set it apart from other devices, but it hasn't been mentioned in their promos for later devices.

I was pretty hyped about the hassleblad partnership. But I admit, I fell for the marketing. I figured if anyone is going to disturb the space, its OnePlus. But alas, After seeing REAL sample shots from reviews, I might as well keep my Pixel 4 and wait for the Pixel 6. OnePlus as usual is giving you 90% of "flaghship" camera. (Although I admit the ultrawide probably wont get matched by apple or google till the next next generation). As per usual OnePlus, Specs above actual results. Sell the phone on marketing and fan base first, Design second, and Results always speak for themselves which is: dont get caught up in the oneplus hype. There is hype around oneplus ever single year, and every single time I watch the reviews I am left sort of meh, like, its competitive, but I might as well wait for Apple/Google to step up their camera game.

According to me, OP9R has an additional macro lens and the main camera setup has OIS. OP8T had both OIS as well as EIS in the main camera and could click great videos. Having an OIS in camera gets a smooth video compared to non-OIS cameras.

What exactly did Hasselblad do here? It seems all they did was send OnePlus an email saying “turn down the colours a bit and make the shutter button orange”.

i switched from ios to the Galaxy S9+ and have been really happy with the android experience, but spent way too much time trying to customize OneUI to look more like stock. With Nova launcher you can get it pretty good, but i really like the idea of going to oxygen OS. While this phone seems a tad underwhelming, it's a great screen, competitive camera, and better OS than Samsung has to offer. What else is there to even consider? I'd kind of like to mess with a Redmi Note Pro and see if it's really that much worse in quality at this point.

My experience is that OnePlus purposely made the 9 feel "cheap" in order to push people towards the Pro.
I owned both phones and only the Pro is greater than the sum of its parts. Having said that I think a fair price for it would be $850 at most, with the standard 9 being $600.

For just a nit more, it's the S21 Ultra for me then. Was willing to give OnePlus a chance to redeem themselves and considering they're charging flagship prices for the Pro, I don't think it cuts it.

I don't agree with the comment at 7:25. Above average camera was okay till last year for the price but this year, there is hardly any difference in the price and you can even find the s21 ultra for much less with offers.

Can never understand all the hype over cameras.... Last time I checked, serious photographers aren't buying smartphones to do photography. A smartphone will never have the capacity to beat a professional camera. Best advice. If you like Samsung, buy Samsung. If you like Apple, buy Apple. If you like OnePlus, buy OnePlus. At this stage in the game, they all are in the same price ballpark, and each phone has features that cater to those who prefer to purchase their favorite brand.

95% of people use cases so they have no idea what the back and sides are made of. If you want to go cheap use plastic. Don't downgrade the camera which almost everyone uses!
No OIS is a serious downgrade unless you only take shoots mid day between 9am and 4pm outdoors.

I have been an avid fan of One Plus phones and have been since the One Plus 3. I currently have a One Plus 6T. I just purchased a One Plus 9 and am very excited to receive it. I even got my friend hooked as she doesn't care about all the features so I purchase her a One Plus Nord N100 phone. The phones are solid, and is the only phones I will ever buy.

I actually think the 9 and 9pro difference justified by their price. Unlike the Samsung S21 series, which obviously target to drive all customers to buy the S21 Ultra. For that reason, it comes out with players like 1plus to make flagship phones targeted to steal the S21 and S21+ price range market.
