Ohh nice, today I learned that と doesn't connect sentences but そして

    • @mccama19
      @mccama19 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Yeah, I thought "To" was always used to connect words, I didn't realize there was two different articles/words to connect words or parts of sentences! This was really helpful.

Very good lessons and cute video as usual. This format of story + grammar lesson works very well. If you need ideas for the future, a story about shopping or going to combini would be very good for beginners. Talking to cashiers and store staff was the part I struggled with the most in Japan!

Thank you so much for your kind comment and feedback! 🙏A story about shopping or going to conbini sounds great! I'll make the story about it sometime soon! 😊 Thank you for sharing your ideas!!

    ありがとうございます。 この video は とても べんりです。
I am studying Japanese in college now and these videos help so much. I am sharing with my friends and asking them to sub too. I really hope you continue to make more. This is the best format I’ve found so for. And this must take you a lot of time and effort. Thank you for doing this!
If you’re interested in ideas, I’d love to see a video on verbs with Midori san going to school and doing many actions along the way.
Or a weather video with them planning a great hanami picnic but the weather is changing.
Or a food vocabulary video where Midori san is learning to make オムライス. ❤

    • @Dragon-Believer
      @Dragon-Believer 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

I like Romanji. The problem with Hiragana is that it's slower than Romanji. But also you still can't read Japanese with it. So meh. I can read Hiragana ok. It doesn't seem useful. Even if I got really good it doesn't get me anywhere without Kanji.

Also, 菊池(kikuchi) means "castle", which are usually described as beautiful.

    3:21 (He) isn't cute.
    3:32 (He) is scary.
    3:42 That person
3:52 That person (politer version; if the person is older or senior than you)
    3:59 That person is Mr.Suzuki.
    4:14 Wow! A beautiful person!
4:22 Yes, Ms.Kikuchi is beautiful. And she is kind.
4:47 This takoyaki is delicious. And it's inexpensive.
*Grammar point: 'to' connects two nouns (e.g. I love Japanese anime and manga)
When connecting two sentences, we use 'Soshite'
    6:01 (I'm) not handsome.
    6:10 (I'm) not funny.
    6:28 A handsome person
    6:36 A funny person
6:45 A kind person is the most wonderful(na-adj).
[5 Rules you need to know about adjectives-present tense]
    ('i'-adjective vs 'na'-adjective)
    1. Positive present tense: Both act in the same way: N(noun) 'wa' adj. 'desu'
7:58 Ms. Kikuchi is lovely. (na-adj.)
    8:03 Roberto is kind. (i-adj.)
    2. Negative present tense: Both don't act in the same way
    *Na-adj (ja arimasen) N is not adj. = N1 is not N2
8:26 Ms. Kikuchi is not lovely.
    8:32 Roberto is not kind.
    3. Negative present tense: Both don't act in the same way
    * i-adj(+kunai desu): omit the last 'i' sound and add 'kunai desu'
    9:21 Midori is cute.
    9:27 Midori is not cute.
    9:30 Mr.Igarashi is scary.
    9:35 Mr.Igarashi is not scary.
    4. Na/i adj + noun
*special feauture of na-adj: When na-adjs are put before nouns, they need the letter 'na' before nouns
    9:58 a beautiful person
    10:02 a handsome person
*whereas i-adj remain the same, when they are attached to nouns
    10:14 a kind person
    10:18 a funny person
    5. How to distinguish na-adj from i-adj?
    - In general, if the adjs end with letter 'i', they are most likey 'i' adjs.
    - However, there are exceptions too.
10:51 beautiful, famous, hate > when you attach these adjs to nouns, the letter 'na' will be needed before nouns

      deeto - date
ni - a bit like 'towards'
sasotara - from the verb 'sasou', meaning to invite/entice the person to do something. this conjugation with 'tara' ending means "IF you _verb_". aka "if you asked [her] for a date"
      dou - how
desu ka - polite question ending marker

Sensei..question....'ame' is candy or rain?....cause....i heard you were say 'ame'....and a candy was on your hand...but as i knew....'ame' is rain....please.....explanation....arigatou sensei

雨(ame) means ' rain', and 飴 (ame) means 'candy'. They are both 'ame', but pitch-accents are different. For rain, あ (a) is high and め (me) is low whereas for candy, あ (a) is low and め (me) is high. 👍
