I am thinking of buying an Audi A6 2.0 tdi or 2.7 tdi, or 3.0 tdi, between the 160,000 / 190,000 milleage (kms) from 2004 to 2009. I travel, on average, 8,500 km per year. Is this car reliable and am I making a good choice?
2.0 TDI not the Best choice. But 2.7 and 3.0 is better. 3.0 TDI is a very reliable engine. Every 10.000kms change oil I use Mobil 1 ESP 5w-30 and use quality filters (mann, bosch, mahle). My engine code: ASB
Your chassis would be much too hard for me. I suppose you have the S-Line chassis right? I have an air suspension (AAS) and find it much more comfortable to drive.
Don't think the car is Sline - at least the interior it is not. Being the facelift, it is lowered compared to pre-facelift and also the power distribution for quattro is more towards the back, so the handling feels great, especially compared to the non-facelift nonquattro. S-line or air suspension in sport mode would have been better, but not a day and night difference. I have the 2.0 tdi 170 sline facelift with multitronic. I miss the quattro, but handling is decent given the size of the car. Still, not having quattro is a minus in handling.
@@MrTeknown I wish diesels werent at a disadvantage in the Netherlands, else I would be rocking the 3.0 TDI for private use as well. Currently on a 3.2 FSI instead.
@@surena9451 in terms of daily driving, the tfsi is a great engine. It consumes more, but not a lot. It really depends on how fast you drive. In normal driving conditions my friend with A4 b8 2.0 tfsi 180hp manual 6 speed from 2009 has very similar fuel consumption to my 170 TDI A6 C6, just a little more average. If he drives it fast, the efficiency of the diesel is there, but also the lower performance. I expect similar results and a little more refined drive from 3.2 tfsi, but overall is not a minus. For very high mileage annually driving fast on autobahn, it is better to have the TDI as it consumes very little compared to tfsi at high speeds. Mine consumes around 10 L per 100 km at 200 kmph. A 2.0 tfsi would get 13-14 for sure. Unfortunately there were a lot of pressures from the politics in regulating and banning diesels, a little too fast in my opinion.
It's not fast driveing... It's pure stupid driveing... Fast is one thing... careless is another... Hope you pay for that by crashing that car without harm to you and other people but with harm to your ego and something to think abut...
