No it should have never been made a pet, this ignorant ass lady probably got her because she can’t have kids or something and that’s disturbing, this thing isn’t a replacement for kids and that’s how she’s treating it, it’s a WILD ANIMAL and a disgusting pest at that, wish I could stomp that things head in myself

She's a very sweet girl. ❤❤ Unfortunately, the processed food & sugary treats will pile on the weight. Her joints & her teeth will become a problem 1st. Her heart will have to work harder & could cause heart disease as the result. I know it's hard because you want to make her happy. These foods will end up hurting her later on. When wild animals become captive pets, they don't get the exercise they normally would if they were running the forest every day burning off those extra calories. I'm not trying to be mean, just the opposite. If you want her to live a long time, keeping her healthy & fit will determine just how long she lives. A cheeto here & there doesn't sound like much, their system has a much harder time then ours fighting off health diseases.

I stumbled across your channel after randomly reading an article about a capuchin monkey that was a pet for years and was finally rehabilitated and released into the wild. Probably the algorithm but... I've been searching for an explanation as to why you have a monkey at all(if you rescued it or something) but can't find one. That's disappointing because capuchin's do not thrive as pets whatsoever. They are highly social and live in large groups of other monkeys, usually 30-40 together. Also, eating human foods, especially snack foods, is really bad for them. I'm not trying to be rude, as it looks like you take pretty good care of her and there's other animals around... but idk... having a monkey as a pet just seems... kinda selfish. I mean no disrespect at all, I just think the exotic pet trade is kind of sick. But good luck to you and take care

I ❤ her but boy she must be a lot of work. I have a parrot that I’ve had for 6 months (first bird) and it too is a lot of work. Gaitlyn is like having a toddler forever, I couldn’t do it especially at my age now but I do ❤️ her.

I have to say I was wondering about the vinegar. That is not really natural for them. My conservation buddy would cringe. He saves enough skunks ppl feed crap. One was so fat he couldn't walk. This baby looks very happy and loved though.

Do you have to have a special permit to have her? Curious to know how much money it takes to get one and maintain a pet monkey properly
It depends they go for 8-14K depending on the breed and their food you have to consider how much vegetables you're going to have to buy because their needs must always come first. Then there's their bedroom and play room and they love toys and toys are not cheap. And if your monkey likes clothes well they must have the best so their clothes aren't cheap. You wouldn't want your monkey in dollar general clothes right!

Don't get a monkey. They are not meant as house pets. Rescuing is different than purchasing.
Owning a pet capuchin monkey is actually illegal in most places.
