@@RobertCheatham-b4b But it would won’t matter if you can’t ever sell it. Equity when you think about it. It’s kinda of pointless doesn’t unless you are ready to get rid of your house.

Love visiting Charleston area. Visited in July and October. Not a fan of humidity and heat. I definitely could do a snowbird.

Just back from a turn around Bay Street. I searched this topic because I couldn't believe I was taxed 16% on a single drink. And let's not forget the 4% credit card fee because restaurants have decided they're not paying for that anymore. So basically, that's 20% higher right off the bat, then there's a 20% tip expected on top of that. So basically a cocktail is going to be a whopping additional 40% over the advertised price. It's absolutely insane. CHS without doubt has an amazing restaurant scene. But you see one exposed brick bar you've seen em all. It's just not worth it.

I blame the notebook. It’s going down as a classic and the more that people see it the more they want to move there. It’s the only reason I’m even watching this video. I want to move there……because of the notebook.

@@TheBillOlson we dont need any more condos, we dont need any more of our woodland areas destroyed, our road structure is not designed to facilitate the amount of traffic we have already (have you ever driven your car at rush hour anywhere in the greater charleston area?) We dont need more people, we have too many as it is. I grew up in NYC, and i see the greater charleston area becoming just like new york, not in my best interest. wanna come and visit? fine, just dont stay, we dont want you here (especially if you are a dumba$$ democrat\liberal scum). to sum it up, more people= more traffic, more garbage, more bull$hit the locals have to deal with.

Charleston was the largest port of disembarkation for enslaved Africans in North America, with over 40% of enslaved Africans passing through the city before the American Revolution. South Carolina had a higher proportion of African-born slaves than other parts of North America, and the geography of the state made it easier for enslaved people to escape. The swamps near the tidal rivers used for rice cultivation were difficult to traverse on horseback and were home to alligators and rattlesnakes. Back then, it was cheap to live there and now it’s expensive I think we all know what happened and why it’s expensive

There was a time in Charleston and the rest of the state that alcohol in bars could only be sold in mini bottles. A lot of stores were closed on Sundays etc.

Yessss it is very expensive for the past 3-4 yrs. Republicans mostly run all the things in sc. so seniors and youth especially African Americans are overwhelmingly lost and no help. Jobs will not pay what they should bc it’s a right to work state - no unions.. lots of scammers bc of the elderly.. tons of traffic and no transportation from/thru city to city. Very expensive in mostly white areas. Gentrification has kicked out African American ppl who can no longer pay taxes never.😮.. haha taxes- certain places u pay state, city and local taxes. It’s about 1800-2200 for two bed room. Maybe 3 or so African American own restaurants downtown Charleston but lots of African Americans working in the kitchen and hotel service
