Love these different takes on soul tag . Enjoyed your version and another great commentary .Thank you .
Somebody finally gave Joss Stone some props!! Soul Sessions is her best IMO.
By the way, I just heard people on another stream speak of you. I am embarrassed that I had no idea of your legacy in the vinyl community. Makes it such an honor that you did my tag. Thank you so much again.
Great selection soul funk 👍😉
Thanks my friend!
How wonderful, not even in my dreams can I have all that... I can always win the lottery
Ha ha! Thanks. What you really have to do is go back in time. I started collecting vinyl around 2008 or so and I was buying like CRAZY those first two or so years. So a lot of the $20, $30 or $100 records I have in my collection I purchased for $1-3 dollars back in the day lol. My how times have changed.
Enjoyed your soul tag. Thanks.
Really unique selections, which I expected from you!! Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my tag!! Peace!!
Sure thing my friend! Thanks so much!
I want to jump on this tag too.
Yess Brandon Jesus is Love is a classic Commodores classic great pick awesome Soul Tag . That Impressions looks brand new . Chaka khan on Winwood a 80’s classic . I’m all for a Bobby Womack box set his catalog is deep . The Temptations’” Stand on the top” a funk filled classic Rick James was an amazing songwriter I really dug this episode have a great week.
Thanks LA!! \m/
Such a great soul tag with so much insight. Couldn't agree more about 80s R&B not getting much attention. Definitely going to check out Miguel's album. What an amazing experience chatting with Dave about Stax. Incredible.
Indeed. That conversation with Dave was just amazing. To get such insights on things like where the line "Hold On, I"m Coming" came from for Sam And Dave or how they got the kids into the recording studio to shout "Soul Finger' on the Bar Kay's hit Soul Finger. Just mind blowing lol. Let me know what you think about the Miguel if you get a chance.
Great response. Love soul music, my go to genre for sure
Appreciate it! :)
Awesome 👏
Thanks brotha! \m/
Great response. I’ll be checking some of these out. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks my friend!
Great job with this Brandon! I don’t own enough soul records to do this thread. Awesome Dave story! Gotta include Tina👍 Where would J Geils fall under?
Thanks G! We're gonna have to get some more soul in your collection. Now I know a few more things to keep an eye out for VCLT!! :) J Geils? Do you mean if he would fall under soul or not?
@@mrhoffame Yeah I wonder if J Geils band might fall under soul. I like upbeat soul music but I am not a fan of smooth R&B. I just get a little confused on what falls under what genre sometimes. Ohio Players. Soul or funk? Donna Summer? Etc.
