Wow. So far I am super super thankful for your step by step instructions. I am attempting my FIRST ever knitting project and so far I am super happy with the result. Thank you so so much.
Thank you so much for doing these videos (and keeping them up). I am finally getting to my first sweater and after having you teach me how to knit a sock I know I would love your sweater tutorial.😊
Have made it this far and understanding perfectly so far even though I am working on another project and have not attempted this sweater yet. 😬 Thanks again Tina! I’m knitting on a scarf while watching you. I just saw this finished on your Instagram, love how easy this yarn knits and it lays perfectly, so beautiful ... 🤗💗🤗 Mary
Great points about the waist shaping. I’m knitting a cardigan at the moment that has waist shaping and I’m dithering about whether to bother doing the decreases since I usually wear straight cardigans. I hadn’t thought that perhaps I should check the stitch count goes back to normal after the shaping. If it does then it’ll be easy enough to not do the shaping. If not, then I guess I have to think a little harder about how to proceed. Hmmm 🤔 You’ve given me something to think about. Thanks.
Sorry to give you more to think about. If the stitch count is higher you could do increases after the waist point just one increase each side so it's unnoticeable but gently corrects the stitch count.
Thank you for such a well explained tutorial. I'm knitting a sweater for the first time (new knitter here) and I'm wondering if this sweater can be made for a male. If so, should there be decreases for the waist or should I continue straight? Thank you for your kindness and time.
thank you - it clarified much for me - i chose not to use the decreases as i want a straight sweater - just to make sure - the measurement of 38 centemeters is the length from the bottom of the arm pit to the part where the ribbing starts?
Yes that's correct unless you prefer it a different length. If you are knitting it longer it is better to stop at the recommended length and knit the arms. This is so you don't use too much yarn on the body and run out before you finish the sleeves . You can then carry on with the body with your remaining yarn x
Im curious, do you take requests for designers and or sweaters? Thanks. I love watching you. I know what I want/desire and need but not how to adjust it properly to get it. Sigh. 😢
Question please Tina: so in general, decreases and increases are usually alternated between knit rows? Like decrease (or increase) through row as according to instructions, followed by a knit row (or purl) as indicated in that particular pattern... so if the pattern says total of 4 rows then you would (decrease row, then knit) twice... [ 2 + 2 = 4 ]. this is to create gradual increases or decreases. Kind of like a dart in sewing😜 or it reminds me of a gradual change for forming the shape of the sweater... ? Thank you! 🤗💗🤗
Yes the pattern would work perfectly with the flax. They are both classed as Aran weight . Good luck, let me know how you get on and if you prefer the Flax with shaping. I may copy you , I love wearing my Flax x
