It's widely accepted that Magic Johnson and Larry Bird saved the NBA when they both came into the league in 1979. You should react to the 1992 USA Basketball Olympic Dream Team. Guys like Jordan, Bird, Magic, Ewing, Barkley etc. formed a super team and just absolutely destroyed the other countries. They were blowing teams out by like 70 points. It was insane.
Number 33 on his team in a lot of these clips is Kareem Abdul Jabar too. I'm sure you have heard that name before.. Those Laker teams were some of the all time greats with 3 or more Hall of Famers on them
You guys should watch the Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao and all his fights and react to all of them. I am a Filipina and I don't like boxing, but I can watch MP's fights over and over again and each time make me swell with pride, brings tears of joy whenever he wins.
One of the greatest. I'm my opinion (not that I'm a basketball historian or anything; I don't even watch anymore), these guys changed the game: Pete Maravich, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Michael Jordan. I can't think of anyone else that had as big an impact as those guys. Others are great players, but not actual game changers.
Point guards are essentially the basketball equivalent of quarterbacks. Nearly all of the action, play-making and ball handling starts with them. Magic was easily one of the greatest points to ever run the break. Along with Bird and Jordan, he was a force of nature on the court. The Lakers v Celtics rivalry was one of the greatest, most electric rivalries in the sport. Bird was a forward who could handle the ball like a point guard, and Magic was a point guard who could play like a foward.
I think Magic is the best of all time. He nearly avg. a triple-double, and even played center and still scored 42 points with 15 boards. If Lebron or Jordan only scored 10 points, you would likely think their team was going to lose the game, Magic brought something different though to the game, the court was a chess board and he knew where every piece was - he made the entire team better with his style of play. He could have an off night and only score only 10 points but the Lakers were dangerous because their best player didn't have to score 40 - 50 points to win. That's what made him special.
And its gotta be said that his team was great too. I mean you have to be ready at every single second because Magic would just make something happen and the ball will be flying perfectly at you. Just highly skilled players and shocks me when people say that this old school couldnt handle todays players.
The era of 1980-1998 Magic and Bird and Jordan (Jordan entered in 1984) was an insane era of the NBA. The league was stacked with talent. Guys you guys have probably never heard of but those that follow the game would know as Legends like Reggie Miller, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, etc. To put it in football terms these would be players of the stature of an Xavi or Iniesta or a Viera, that is recognized by fans as some of the best players in their era. Disagree, I'm American and i could 100% see Fury as a basketball player where he born in the US. He's agile enough, quick. He could be a center. Even if he couldn't score as a center he'd could probably be a defensive shot stopper supreme.
Magic is the only rookie to win Finals MVP. He won the college championship and game 6 if the 1980 finals started at center to replace Kareem ( who became the all time leading scorer) and scored 42 points. He has the highest assist per game avg. in NBA history. His assist avg went up in the playoffs-which is the time you play the good teams and the championship round. Five NBA rings, Olympic champ.
Ready to Jason “white chocolate” Williams if you like those electrifying passes. Also can I recommend DR. J. The original Jordan. His dunks in the 70s and early 80s were sick
Magic...Best passer ever with bird on his heels. Magic and bird... made the nba relevant with one of the best rivalries ever. A rivalry so great that they are both shown excelling in each other's highlights? The absolutely tremendous respect they had for each other.... 2 of the top 5 ever on the court at the same time, 3 of the top 5 once Jordan matured a bit, which happened just as magic and bird were retiring. Talent? There's noone in today's nba with magic and bird's all around game.
When Magic was diagnosed with HIV no one wanted to play with him or be touched by him and he was forced to retire from the NBA. The man is now a Billionaire. That’s what I call a success story.
I guess no basketball teams in high school, etc. in UK, then? I think the courts are everywhere in the playgrounds, but not teaching the game. It's a shame as the third most popular game worldwide behind soccer (football) and cricket.
Magic was the first guy who made crazy passes multiple times a game, most guys have highlights of passing from a stretch of time, his could be made from a 3-4 game stretch.
You still have done Jim Valvano ESPY Speech. Just watch it for yourselves if unable to post it. He was dying of cancer at the time and profound, funny, profound, funny....

Gotta throw in the Michael Jordan top 50 plays next. Larry Bird and Magic both knew and I quote, “There’s a new sheriff in town”
Can you imagine a team of those legends, sounds like the dream teams from 92-96.
92 Dream Team highlights! You can see them play together in the Olympics.
You guys need to watch the bird and magic documentary I think you would really love it
The reason him and bird play so alike is bexkiss they both played poi.t guard in the exact same era
magic n bird were before my time but it's stated without much opposition that they saved the NBA
The Magicman,Best play maker👍🏼🏀😎👍🏼....
Magic Johnson. The greatest of all time
Magic is the only rookie to win Finals MVP.
Hes the best passer of all time and larrys rival from college till they retired
Ready to Jason “white chocolate” Williams if you like those electrifying passes. Also can I recommend DR. J. The original Jordan. His dunks in the 70s and early 80s were sick
Look at Jason Williams aka White Chocolate. Creativity defined
Talent? There's noone in today's nba with magic and bird's all around game.
watch the larry bird vs magic john docu, if i remember its about when they played in the NCCA champ then the road in the NBA
When Magic was diagnosed with HIV no one wanted to play with him or be touched by him and he was forced to retire from the NBA. The man is now a Billionaire. That’s what I call a success story.
How can one not love bball...its the greatest.
Jordan mixtape next pls
And 1 streetball highlights. You'll either love it or hate it.
You guys need an actual TV show👍🏾
You have to do this style of video for LeBron and Steph Curry. Definitely Steph at the very least. He'll blow your minds.
I hope these lads will react to Hakeem Olajuwon’s Dream shake.
I guess no basketball teams in high school, etc. in UK, then? I think the courts are everywhere in the playgrounds, but not teaching the game. It's a shame as the third most popular game worldwide behind soccer (football) and cricket.
Crazy that Magic and Kareem(2 top-5 all-time players) played an entire decade with each other, and 'only' won 5 championships.
You Blokes make me wanna move across the pond
Gotta watch Steph Curry too. He has some ridiculous highlights. Second to only Magic at the point guard position.
There was a team like that! It was the first Dream Team!
Magic was the first guy who made crazy passes multiple times a game, most guys have highlights of passing from a stretch of time, his could be made from a 3-4 game stretch.
Please do Kobe Bryant ultimate mixtape next lads!!
You still have done Jim Valvano ESPY Speech. Just watch it for yourselves if unable to post it. He was dying of cancer at the time and profound, funny, profound, funny....
My Division III (small school, lowest level of competition) college had a center who was English. Not bad at all.
Watching these Lakers is like watching ‘08-‘10 Barcelona
pistol pete maverich, wilt chamberlain, earl monroe , bill russell basketball
Yup he’s the playmaker. The position in basketball is called Point Guard and he is known as the best Point Guard of all
Time. I hope you react to the Larry bird mixtape, and then the Michael Jordan ‘historic mixtape” < that’s the best video!
