      It does feel very lonely sometimes. I usually just bury it and keep moving forward. Sometimes that's all we can do. its hardest most when the stress gets too much to handle in life and trust me, without getting into too much detail about my personal life. Its stressful AF right now.

    • @That90sKidReacts
      @That90sKidReacts  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I deal with PTSD myself granted im not a veteran, mine stems from childhood trauma. I also dealt with alcoholism for a while fresh out of high school that was before my dr's told me it was amplifying the chances of me having more siezures so i was forced to quit and boy i tell you i struggled but after about 3 months sober the cravings started to subside and by 6 months i could control myself into not drinking... But as you watched in the video all i really did was trade one addiction for another. And i had to go through withdrawals twice. It was awful, i never want to do it again. That was the defining point in my life, living completely sober. I did it and you can do it too. God helped me and he will be there with you also. Just stay strong and push through the urges i know it will be tough. But i got your 6.

    Have you tried group therapy for depression and anxiety? I went in November and through their psychiatrist and two group therapy treatments I have reached a point where I don't feel depressed anymore but i get anxious still. The main challenge now is figuring out what a life without depression is like. Always wanted to get this far but never planned beyond this point.

      @@That90sKidReacts so what i had to do was check myself in for a mental evaluation. after sitting there (take a book and clear your schedule. I was there like 3 hours before it was my turn for eval.) you will be taken to meet with the assessor. they will ask you questions to see if you are actively/currently self destructing (for lack of better words). Once they see that you do want help but arent a danger to others or yourself currently they will give you the option of staying in patient or going out patient. Out patient is what I did. I went for 3 hours a day at a sight for the classes. While you learn alot of stuff you may or may not already know. The big takeaway is having others around you of all ages and demographics who understand how you feel and you get to cross reference scenarios give and receive advice. Genuinely seen and heard for what might be the first time. after roughly 30 days you graduate but if need be you can come back for more you just have to schedule an appointment with the out patient center's assessor (so that way you dont have to wait in the hospital again) saying you feel progress was made but you're currently not where you need to be. Then start the program again. You want to aim for a counselor who lets the group talk, provides input and ask questions, listens well, and treats you as equals. Looking ofr both empathy and sympathy not just sympathy from your counselor.

    I got stuck on the painkillers in college and ended up copping a habit for 8 years. I remember being exactly where the guy in this song is at, it kinda crept up over time then i couldnt shake if after that, then moved to heroin. Was holding a full time job, high functioning and its only by the grace of god i got caught at my job and was forced to choose between rehab or the streets in 2019. Its crazy i decided to go to rehab and am still clean now almost 5 years later, at the worst of it i thought i was destined to die addicted to this crap. That first week was the absolute worst, but once you commit to stopping and realize you just gotta make it through withdrawal hell one more time, it makes it a whole lot easier. You gotta do it for yourself also, it aint gonna stick otherwise
