  • Ready for a unique Bangkok dining experience?
Discover fish and chips - but not as you know them - on the roof of Sam’s house on Soi Pipat 2 in the heart of the city.
His restaurant is easily missed if you don’t keep an eye out for its small street-side sign. Even then you’ve got some exploring to do - including wandering up the driveway to negotiate a small spiral staircase.
At the top you’ll find a quaint garden decked with picnic-style furniture. It’s not fancy, it’s not flash, but it’s cosy and has a wonderfully laid back vibe.
Sam will either be frying fish in the open kitchen or dashing over to greet you like a long lost pal. You might even meet some of his friendly neighbours who often drop by to spend their evenings here.
The food menu is short and includes European and Thai selections, but the star of the show is the homemade fish and chips.
Choose either Tilapia or John Dory and you get two fillets of fresh fish coated with Sam’s homemade breadcrumb batter. The batter is light and crispy; the fish, meaty yet moist. The cooking oil used is brand new and this shines through in the bold clean tastes.
With your fish you get a handful of delicious chunky chips, which are great for dipping into ketchup or HP sauce. You can also team your meal with sides such as fresh mixed salad and garlic bread. Beer and wine is available at reasonable prices.

This is what we call professional brotha! Love the use of the RH Lower thirds, ofc 😌 but the video was very professionally made. The cuts, grading, transitions. 1 thing i noticed was the other callouts, the chroma key was a bit off so i could see the green a bit (the black callouts). But this was good man! Ill let they know :)

RobHK Vlogs Thanks very much for your kind comments - you’ve made my week! Your videos, advice and resources have helped heaps towards my development, and I appreciate it a lot. Thanks for inspiring me and helping me to grow. And also thanks for pointing out the green screen issues. I was fiddling with the settings for ages with no luck, so I just went with the best I could do haha. Your lower thirds are so much easier to use and I will definitely use them in every future video!

Bangkok Explorer 😊 for Lumafusion its always best to chroma key black (chroma key ocean and only thing you have to do is change hue to 180 and you’re done) green is harder due to small color particles, so it takes some practice! Hopefully i can expand the lower thirds as well making more and different ones as well as social media lower thirds and callouts ^^ looking forward to see more of your vids bro💪💪💪💪
