    I loved that you Graphically showed the dead chicken that was slaughtered by the skunk... brings a little bit of realism to the delicate sheltered iphone users that think their food magically appears at the supermarket... its a shame you didn't have a high quality video (with sound) of the skunk attacking the chicken... could have played it as an intro to all your videos and see how many bleeding heart sheeple would change their tune from protecting the skunks/rats, to yelling at you to stop them quicker...
    Great Video, ty

    The activist-haters don't seem to understand that eggs are a renewable resource. He could get hundreds of meals out of that one chicken. That's as "green" and "animal-friendly" as you can get naturally. (And don't try to suggest you can be vegan "naturally" because you can't. A vegan diet MUST be artificially supplemented.)

    Wow, Skunks are definitely much more agile and capable than most people think. We see them sort of waddling around and low to the ground, like you, I know better. Also with my honey bee hives, skunks often push out the entry reducer at night and wait for the bees to come out and then the skunk stands on its hind legs with forepaws just shoveling the honey bees in. I'm trying to get video of that activity, but unfortunately, the skunks have moved on. Benefit though, is that they also dig out ground wasps which I like. It's a toss up. But when it comes to protecting your chickens, game on. Thanks for sharing!

    Mr Shawn Woods. If people don't like what you're doing, tell them to go to H--ll. I like what you're doing. You put out some great how-to videos. All people need to know how, and what to trap for food. They all need to know how and why traps are made and from what materials to use. You cover all this in your videos. You're doing a fine job. Thank you for your time in the production of these educational videos. Have a great night.

    Hey man great videos , screw all the haters. Your not doing this as a sport , its protecting your assets , property an livestock. I've built quite a few deadfalls back in FL for hogs. Works well if done right , also I've done sapling snare traps that snare the animal an release the bent sapling snapping the animal upward by the neck , had about 85% kill rate an almost 100% rate of trapping the animal. This was on a large farm owned by a close friend. Anyway great videos , just found your channel today an I've already watched 15+ videos. Very educational , keep up the good work. Your a better man then I , don't think I could eat a skunk or a rat unless I was In a survival situation haha

      I was wondering the same. I know they spray if you shoot them.

    • @Jack-vo7yf
      @Jack-vo7yf 7 ปีที่แล้ว +89

      Well, most likely not, the skunk has sort of a bladder that holds its spray, and it has to squeeze the bladder to spray. Unlike humans with bowels, death itself will not cause any discharge. Unless for example you ran one over with a car, then the weight of the car would force the bladder to spray. Likely if this is done right the skunks neck or spinal cord may be broken or damaged. If this is not the case then the skunk likely saw no use in spraying as the observed threat was from above not behind.

    My parents live in a ranch, and they have chickens there. There's a lot of wild life there, and recently we lost 3 chickens. I'd suspect coyotes (we live in California) to be the culprit, but never I would have thought skunks would be a suspect.
