That junction box your on about on the brake lines, if I’m not mistaken it’s the load sensing valve ! If it’s connected to the back axle beam that’s what it’ll be.
I have some Astra g hand brake cables from a 1.8 sxi with rear discs hanging up in my garage, cover postage and they are yours dude. Same for a set of brand new 308mm front 5 stud discs!
To get even nicer sound You should take care of the center muffler of the exhaust, swap it to some box with straight flow but with a steel wool inside and crease to not make it so loud. I did such mod to my Zaffy 1.8 and it's louder but still does not attract too much attention. I got video of it how it sounds. If I were You I will get rid of that center diffuser of the bumper. I think it will look way better after that, cheers mate!
I think the back bumper has been a bit trimmed. If you google astra sri back bumper you see the difference. normally the gap for the exhaust isnt that big... but the best choice would be the gsi bumper!
Has the centre section of the bumper been trimmed to make the gap bigger? a) can you just remove the centre section for now? (how would that look?) b) if it has been trimmed, can you just get a replacement centre section?
If you was upto it you could modify that rear Bumper yourself like take the reverse sensors out and smooth it and with the gap you could cut the rest of that middle bit out and make your own diffuser for it
Google maps put in Westgate Hill motor spares click on street view image everything you need right there. I know it a bit far from you but if you're stuck. It's been stood over a year.
Instead of taken the side trim of the bumper just take the middle peace of you screwed onto the bumper and the exhaust will look better save money for next mod on the car
James do you own a pressure washer ? Would be great for cleaning all the road salt out of the wheel arches and all the bits you don’t see to help prevent future rust and dirt traps etc as long as you pressure washer it on a sunny warm day it will all evaporate enough
You could get a s r i turbo bumper or GSI bumper I wish I could show you a picture of my car have the SRI turbo with a single 4 inch pipe it looks good same colour as your car good video
Dude love your vids helped me out on couple of my prob would love for you to do a engine swap in your astra to a b204 b205 b234 lumps keep up the gd work tho bud
Just seen the mondeo EGR video, having small smoke issues and engine light on, removed tge EGR and i cant press my valve down by hand with a ratchet but it does open and close if i rest it against a wall and use my body weight to do so. Should it deffo move more freely than this or are they ment to be stiff sometimes???Any help apprechiated.
Hey James, hope all is well love your video's and prefer them better than shmee one's. Even though I'm not sure on the direction of your video's, repair, upgrade, how to etc. But coming from an engineering background do some more research first, it will save you £££. Eg my first car a 01 Fiat Panto Base model, it had all of the hard wiring and other thing's already attached to the car, their were only add on bit's from mine to the higher spec. Cheaper for a manufacturer to make a Base model with add on bit's, mine didn't have abs or a rev counter etc but it was already wired in. Keep up the good video's and your knowledge is good, but more knowledge will come with year's of experience :-) take that in a positive way, as that is how it is meant.
@@nov3019892008 I Have the same Fiesta of Savage Garage, the pre-2000 Style (1999) with 255.000km on it and 20 years, No rusty at all, but his have very rusty iusse and in all his cars, because I ask why every car in England is all rusty
Should of prepped & painted the snow flakes first with new tyres, why didnt you look into just buying hub adaptors so you could fit the wheels, exhaust keep the old one & get it welded just incase & just remove the middle trim on the rear bumper
Why remove rear parking sensors Surely there practical? What about just remove middle lower bumper grilland leave both side pieces in place give the effect of rear defuser
Come on buddy you spend your time modding cars so........ Mod the bumper a wee bit of glass fiber to extend the bottom of the bumper to close the gap ans smooth out the sensor holes to. Job done ha ha. Am fairly confident you could do that and paint it
You probably would have to arrange a courier due to the distance but theres a gsi bumper on ebay now. Here's the item number:382713249415. And it would need a respray as its correctly in blue.
I got the hornet exhaust too but replaced the centre silencer with a straight pipe too, sounds throaty as all hell, neighbours not to happy but meh lol 👀 ❤
They might not be leaking but id change them anyway, i doubt they'd last much longer, and if the car is going to be on the road for a few years yet then its a good investment
Watching this series makes me really want another mk4 astra such good cars and easy to work on
I swapped my old focus drum brakes to disc years ago way before i done the youtube thing. Good vid James

Keep up the good work!
Always enjoy your content even though I’m a Land Rover man! I particularly enjoy the tutorial type content btw👍
This calmed my feels after the man Utd game 😁
you could make a checker plate piece to go round the chav bomb
I had a Hornet back box on my 1.2 16V clio, was really loud, but it popped and banged really well....
If I may suggest, when undoing brake unions. A 10 minute soak in Plusgas!
Just clicked on your channel, link sent by TH-cam Creators! You got plenty of quality videos man! Keep up the good work!
standard problem with copper brake lines. The part you are referring to is the brake load compensator .
Thanks for the detail on the brake pipes, very helpful for when I replace mine.

it be interesting how you do the brake cable as i need a new one put on mine

Just take that middle part of the bumper off first see what it looks like
use mole grips to clamp rubber brake pipes to stop fluid loss
Great video James. Give them arches a good clean (jet wash and some all purpose cleaner) 👍👍
That bumper is so much better
Thanks for that break pedal trick 😀
You could cut the bit off at the bottom like chop the spokes if that makes sence
Wouldn't it leak less fluid if you weren't pressing on the brakes? Less pressure in the line
S I thought that🤔
Love this channel bud so you'll need a gsi handbrake it's convenient I need to do mine so look forward to that vid for tips and tricks👍👍
Google maps put in Westgate Hill motor spares click on street view image everything you need right there. I know it a bit far from you but if you're stuck. It's been stood over a year.
hi there just wondering if your going to get anymore the savage garage stickers the long ones thanks
Do you not have to swap out the brake master cylinder as well when going to discs all round?
I can't wait to see how its gonna look.
Brilliant vid mate

Just an ordinary hosepiepe will clean that lot off. I do mine every time i clean my mk5
You could get a s r i turbo bumper or GSI bumper I wish I could show you a picture of my car have the SRI turbo with a single 4 inch pipe it looks good same colour as your car good video
James. To fill the gap next to the exhaust, could you have someone design and 3D print a part you could add on and paint? Nice vid btw 😁
Dude love your vids helped me out on couple of my prob would love for you to do a engine swap in your astra to a b204 b205 b234 lumps keep up the gd work tho bud
Just take the central part of the rear bump of and why didn’t you get the 5 stud hubs from a mk4 1.8 cdx Astra?

As I'm building my own prodrive esque body kit for my zlet vxr build
As far as I know when you replace (and probably if you unscrew one side) of tie rod your alignment is screwed.
Gsi rear bumber is nice on them cars and the front bumber
The SRi Turbo bumpers James has on the car already are even rarer than the GSi ones.
@Mark Singleton SRi Turbo 's are limited edition, only 501 made as opposed to 1,000's of GSI's
didn't get to hear the new exhaust, nor what it sounding like without anything on :(
Could you show us where you place your axel stands?
Standard bumper definitely 👍
just needs that middle spoiler part taking out ,
Another tip fully depress brake pedal stops fluid leaking
New rear shocks too please, in for a penny in for a pound. :-)
Another informative video ,well done.
Love ya channel thanks for the back up
James would you sell your alloys?
Educational and interesting always great videos
Where would you recommend getting a rear diffuser?
Get a rear diffuser if you can get one not a bumper it may look better
Great video mate keep up the content 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
i have the same exhaust on my peugeot 308 sport sounds amazing lol defoo need a good noise when it comes to the exhaust 💯
Bro why dont you cut the tip of the other Exhaust , and replace for the single?? Or buy a tip with two pointers.
Any chance I could buy your 4 stud alloys?
maaan why dont start up to test the new exhaust
Someones cut your prodrive centre section pal as my prodrive part has a solid end cover to the right side of where your exhaust fits
'Two metal 'Thingamajiggys'...Classic Car Channel technical terms....
Time for me to watch part 3 of the Astra 5 stud yay 😇
Any future plans for the astra

Are you planing you build a track car.
This video didn’t come up in my feed I’m having to click the bell for proper notifications
why every car, even if it has a few years on its shoulders, is very rusty in England?
There's alot of salt on our roads due to the UK weather.
My 12 year astra h has no rust apart from a little on the subframe and rear shocks

Leve the bumper mate
As per usual awesome.
Great video. Keep up the good work
just noticed you have different springs on each side of the rear suspention
Put gsi bumpers on it

Look forward to these videos very good
Put some old rims under the car too just in case don't trust those jacks
On the thumbnail, it almost looks like your wheels were stolen
Great job m8
They sell double tip hornet cherry bomb on ebay
Go gsi 👌🏻👌🏻

Nice.
Take the bumper addon pieces off , there not the best looking to be fair

Great video mate
Go on sebzz vxr breakers on Facebook he should have a gsi bumper
cut the bumper then it will look good
If I donate £20 will you do a swear word
Like Saxo?
Simon Johnny this is great banter!
@@simonj48 hahahahahahaha
I bet he did a lot of swear words when getting those brake pipes off lol
Richard Powell he’s actually quite impressive in the sense he likes the awkward jobs I hate working on any mk4 or 5 astra or disastra
Wanna sell them 4 stud wheels hit me up after a set
If you just remove your prodrive lips and are wiling to post up Scotland for postage costs costs I'll have it
Having a dump whilst watching this
Flange.
