I like it! I think I will definitely be purchasing ball option. Thanks 🙏🏽 very informative, Pullrite seems to be a great manufacturer that will stand by their product. God Bless America!
I used the Superlite 2600 on a 34' Jayco 5th wheel. It's an outstanding hitch from a great company. Their customer service was always there to answer any questions. Thankfully I only needed their help once to set it up and I needed a replacement pin which they promptly shipped straight to my home. I can't say enough about Pullright hitches.
HI Cody, Love the videos. I have a 2022 Ram Short Bed and a 2023 Reflection and we pull it with a Pullrite 2600 superlite which is just like the oex we like it ! We have talked to Nick several times I have even texted him on weekends with questions he is awesome the only thing I do not like about my Pullrite Superlite 2600 is I do have to lift RV up more than other hitches when hooking and unhooking but I can do almost a complete 90 even with a shortbed and it doesn't take up much room in my bed and I can put it in and out of my bed without anyone else helping me !
That would be interesting! I also wondered about wind, with it being behind the axle. But I have to say that I was impressed with how good it felt. ..still love the slider.. 😁😁
Brass rings aside, given the excellent maintenance you have done on the Super Glide, I was totally confident that you would have no trouble taking it out after 3 years. Now, about the pizza extraction, there's some improvement to be made there.😁
We also have a Pull-Rite hitch. One thing I did like about the ball hitch is not having to be straight with the truck. There’s been times when space for our truck was at a premium and 10 plus point backups to align the hitch was necessary for my driving skills. Thanks for testing it out for us!
That’s a big plus in my book. I’ve pushed it backing in at angles and it’s always iffy at best. The ball was super easy and with the silver color I had a lot of visibility on the cab camera. Piece of cake!
I haven’t tested those but I really like their fifth wheel pin box. Their gooseball setup makes sense as a bed space and weight saver. Personally I would have a concern that the added length between connection points when going all the way to the bed floor to use a gooseneck setup could change some flex or pivot points on the trailer. I have no information or bias on that. It’s just my cowboy logic haha.
Good morning, 👋😊 From my view of that parking lot turn your truck looked awesome. It was definitely a sharp looking cut with ease. Just looked beautiful to me. Thanks I enjoy your videos ☺️.
We own a 2400 super lite now for 4 yrs. Enjoy the ability to remove it and its not so heavy. We do have the rail system account its my choice. Pullrite CS has been awesome when we had a issue.
Just a question. By raising the fifth wheel in the front shifts more weight on the back axle. And has no longer a Equal weight distribution on the tandem. Axles. How do you rectify that?
This is true. We started with the highest setting and saw the trailer was riding nose high so we dropped the ball cone down to level things out to where the super glide is. Once we made that adjustment and leveled out we were in good shape. You could tell by looking that the top adjustment point was way too high for us. The ball cone has three or four adjustment holes. It’s really easy to get the weight distribution dialed in.
It was right for sure! Mine used to have a chucking issue but that’s when Nick showed us how to adjust it where it fixed it. It’s different but still a pretty tight connection.
@@RVUntethered any chance ofshareing that tidbit of info or is that adjustment brand specific to pull-rite...i have a curt setup i talked to my curt dealer and he said you just gotta live with it
@@jameslanenga7915 I would think that this would be specific to the Pullrite. I am not sure on the Curt hitches, sorry! This is the video that gets a bit technical on ours: th-cam.com/video/dq3RtDCWBTI/w-d-xo.html
@@RVUntethered thnx for the response ..yes i have the 2 jaw system and when he mentioned the "closed oval" situation it makes sense now ..may have a new pull-rite hitch in my future.. price for that ball and socket hitch seems right
It does. If you have a puck system on your truck that’s the way to go. If you don’t have a puck system they sell the rail kits also. Regardless of the hitch the puck system makes it really nice. Both are easy to take in and out with the pucks. It’s an identical install
Nope not at all. With the ball coupler riding at the same height as the fifth wheel plate there’s nothing to worry about there. It doesn’t change any of the flex points on the trailer.
As I was driving home, I noticed the ‘Reflection’ coming towards me. As I passed, I was thinking, “Where do I know this?” Then I remembered. But, I forgot to look if a blue Super Duty was pulling it. Maybe. Maybe not. I’ll always wonder. I live across the border of IN/MI from Granger/Mishawaka. Hopefully you didn’t get too soaked from all the rain. It’s cool to see you guys were in my neck of the woods. Safe travels.
We had a Pull Rite in our 2006 short bed Ram. Great hitch but super heavy and it must be kept lubed with dry lube. DO NOT USE a wet lube on it. However, after years of towing with an energy absorbing hitch, I would never tow again without one especially considering the poor build quality of RV frames. I would have gone with a GenY hitch provided it has the needed turning requirements. Safe travels.
We love ours too! PullRite did tell us to use WD-40 exclusively. They even had a sticker on it. They may have changed the slides or bearings in recent history changing the type of lube needed. I know it’s heavy but when it comes to the hitching components I’m all for heavy!
@@RVUntethered I agree with you on a good heavy hitch. Not of fan of these Andersen hitches. WD-40? Wow. I'm surprised since that is so light weight and wet. It's been fifteen years since we had one and back then it was Slip Plate dry graphite spray lube. Any kind of wet lube is going to become like sandpaper.
I never noticed you had a short bed until last episode with the cleaning/greasing. What made you go with a short bed? Also, did you discuss the change in the geometry on that hitch and what it might do to MFG warranty?
Honestly I bought the short bed because I liked the look better lol. We did ask about warranty issues and there’s no problem with the ball & coupler setup. With having the coupler right at the height of the fifth wheel plate, it doesn’t change the flex & torque points of the trailer. Where as a good neck / goose ball setup where the pin box is changed to a longer gooseneck set up makes for a longer drop between the trailer and connection point. I could see where that could change the geometry but I don’t have any solid information either way on if that’s actually the case or just speculation
I really enjoy watching your channel! My question does not relate to this video (I apologize), but I know you purchased Carlisle csl 16 tires in one of your previous videos. How do you like them and would you still recommend them? Thank you!!
We love them. We are pushing about 10k miles with them. I would buy them again! I might change my truck tires when the time comes, but I’ll have to see.
Unfortunately, yes. I try to do TRUE made in the USA products when I can, but I'm not as good as a lot of people. When it's double the price or the highest reviews, I struggle to do it. eeek. I hope you feel better, but I don't! hahaha! I really should do better!
Thanks for the quick reply. I truly appreciate it! I’m planning a cross country trip from Pittsburgh PA to Yellowstone and the csl16 looks like an awesome tire. I just wanted to make sure the manufacturing process did not change since Carlisle is now Carlstar. Thanks again!
We still love our super glide! Not letting that baby go! Ha! They actually pulled some of the bearings and things out and it was amazing how good everything looked. I think it is still their number one seller, but we had to be honest on it. We wouldn’t have thought that we would have liked the ball and cuppler style that much. Have you had good luck with yours?
@@RVUntethered Yes. So far so good. Though we just found a little crack in the corner of our front cap and we have only been on three trips. Taking it in Friday so we'll see. But the superglide is incredible. And I had NO practice with it. I got in one day with it hooked, and I put all my trust in that hitch - and it has come through for me. I appreciate all the coverage you have given to it and your coverage with the incomparable Nick the hitch guy!!!
