- Got the BIG GUN! Here's the Master-Grade 1/100 scale Buster Gundam. One of my favorite Gundam designs from the Seed series, this kit does not disappoint! It's got a great look and wields some awesome firepower!

This is going to be my first MG. I own a few, but I always wanted to start either with a GM (the Commander Type or the Sniper Custom) or the Buster Gundam. And since I was unable to find the GMs here in Spain I decided to pick this up. Will be building it and pannel lining it next days.
I have a soft spot for Buster I really like its colour scheme.
Its a fun and easy build and really takes well to being weathered and battle damaged.
I agree with you about how the Buster and Duel would look great posing side by side. They have (in my opinion) a more grounded design that is both modern and militaristic-looking compared to the others in the series (the Strike is actually my least favorite, followed closely by Aegis).
I've finished building a custom-painted MG Duel Gundam Assault Shroud a few weeks ago and it is my favorite MS design after Unicorn's Jesta. I think you'll like the head design on the Duel. Unfortunately, the kit is a little on the small side compared to other MG's but definitely still worth picking up for the looks and the fun build.
I finally got around to building this kit and I gotta say, I love the suit, but I'm not crazy about how cumbersome the weapons are. I kinda wish there was a way to make them a bit more like conventional heavy weapons
It's definitely the sides of the head that makes it looks like a rabbit with puffy cheeks. And that little panel detail sticking out slightly (like what someone would do with pla plate) has shadows that look like wiskers
Thank you so much for this review! Yeah putting the cannons together was a real pain in the ass. I decided to just go with the double cannon pose. It looks more imposing that way, looking like a multi-arsenal Gundam. Cheers!
I do like the buster gundam, but over all from seed i really like the Bucue and Lagowee somehow :p (looking forward for another MG seed series kit)
I would also like to see some more MG kits from seed and seed destiny !! Hope bandai makes them!
I would honestly only consider getting a bootleg if there was no Bandai official kit for it. I would love to get a Leo or an Aries.

I like this kit just because of the color scheme and design all in total, looks better than the strike freedom mg kit in my opinion.
The buster gundam is the true example of "what if Area 51 is developing a robot that shoots lazers?" kind of robot/mobile suit, this could fit to exist in real life
I just finished building this kit and I have to say that it’s exactly what I want to see as far as a Mobile Suit is concerned. Personally, I’m disappointed by the weapons, because I’m more into handheld rifles etc..... I’m ok with it not including a beam saber as I don’t generally like those anyway. The only other complaint I have is that this kit includes a ton of abs plastic which I think can be tricky when it comes to clean up of seams because it’s so soft it doesn’t sand very well. And what’s up with the posable thumb? Why make the thumb posable but then have you swap out the fingers? All in all, I would definitely buy another one of these and custom paint it, maybe similar to how you painted that one suit in the different shades of brown.

Hey zack how do you sand the litlle tiny cracks and tiny details, are you paying attention on the details when you sand or you just sweep the big panel casualy and skip the far tiny deep spot
Yeah for tiny hard to reach places then you really don't need to worry about it. Most likely you aren't going to have any issues there.
Quick question what is a good color for paneling green pieces?
zargent42 Hmm, I would say black. That green is pretty dark so it's not going to be that noticeable. But I don't like seeing light colors like grey used to panel line dark colors just so you can see the lines, ya know? Doesn't make sense at all in reality.

you missed the gimmick in the waist on him, whole leg section moves up and down to two angles. I cant much figure out what the use is though, down makes him look a bit more 'lean' I guess?
Hey Zak. Question about the armor on the forearms on the kit. The panel on the inside of the forearm doesn’t want to stay on at all and keeps popping off. Did you have that problem at all?

Watching this, and I have a question seeing newer videos with like the DM Strike Noir, where do you draw the line between "bootleg" and "third party", and are your feelings now similar, or has time changed your stance?
"bootleg kit" to me means it's an exact copy of a Bandai kit, and I won't buy those. "Third-Party" means it's not an exact copy, so I will buy them if it's a design I like and the quality looks good. Third-party kits are still technically bootlegs though, in the fact that they reproduce and sell the Gundam name and/or likeness without permission.
Thanks for the clarification! I had a feeling that was the thought. It makes sense though, technically teams like DM actually redesign from the ground up, just curious, do you personally know how Bandai feels about the 3rd party kits?
I just bought the titanium finish hi nu gundam. I have one question is that can I use spray paint to go over the finish? Can I not custom paint it?
If you want to custom paint it you are better off stripping off the chrome/metallic paint then reprinting. You can use a variety of different products to do that, depending on what's available where you live. Check around online for how to strip off the coating.

Well the Gundam is 18.86m and the kit is 1/100 scale so it should be right about 18.86cm tall. Assuming Bandai didn't mess it up.

Well according to Gundam Wiki the Gundam is 18.86 meters tall. So a 1/100 scale kit would be 18.86 cm. That in inches would be 7.43 inches.
i understand why u would say it looks like a rabbit its because the mouth doesn't really match the whole head. it jsut needs some mouth vents =P

FYI for a fully stickered up version. Although I didn't use any stickers with the kit, I used water decals instead.

its a bootleg design to mimic the original bandai. but with the technology advsncement , daban design is pretty good nowadays

This is one of the non-Unicorn Gundams that I don't like. I think it's the off-white parts that ruin this model. It feels like a Heavyarms knock off.
