I occasionally stumble upon your channel. A tub grinder would definitely save some time. Plus they are supposed to eject(a pro and a con) incompatible materials such as metal so whole pallets and other things are (supposedly) no problem. At least here in nc, you can use untreated wood(pallets etc) for mulch. Only 2 cons are they cant eat super long things that well since it'll just fall out and they are a little bit more dangerous because they eject material but I assume you already know this.
You know if you tell the people who build the tree grinders "If you set up a demo unit, and show it off, maybe I can find someone willing to buy my smaller unit, then I can upgrade, you can take my smaller unit back to the factory for a small rebuild, then sell it to that customer". Making it possible to upgrade at a lower overall cost to you! And in the meantime, you can demo their stuff, and grid up a bucketload of mulch for this spring! And if you decide not to buy the larger equipment, blame them for processing your trees much faster than you can bring in new wood to grind. If you can grind up a week's worth of trees in only 3 days 7 hours long, then the machine is way to large for your operation! At least you can get the peak spring mulch ground up in a week or two!
my friend owns a tree removal company and he just got his 2nd tub grinder for making mulch they are well worth the money it produces a very consistent mulch. he can put in logs that size whole and stumps but he lets the stumps sit a while so the rain washes away a lot of the dirt though they do cost a pretty penny I think he said the newest one he bought was just under 2 million though he needed the capacity as he is taking all the cities tree trimmings for the lowest rate around in exchange for a juicy tax break

You find out it was a dam 50$ rubber hose 🙄🙄 Now as to the “temporary “ maintenance pit? Wye she would hold a train locomotive😂😂😂 ohhh hell yea I need that screw!! If that concrete is an average 3,000 psi, taking the surface area that the dozer tracks occupy would, without getting all “mathy” be well within any safety limits. Heck, I’d sleep well under the thing. If it didn’t drip oil.
The fire suppression systems I am familiar with from DAFO for buses. The battery needs to be replaced and the system checked once a year, the trigger (small blastingcap) changed every 5 years and the tank and nitrogentank every 10 years
Odd question.... Can you ask Aaron what model and brand the 2-way radio antenna is he has on his truck. I have a problem breaking them off on tree limbs. The supports where 4" steel, going three ways, 3 feet long each direction. The pickup that hit it, ended up in the air! And I think one of the pipes went into the engine? The question I keep asking myself during the watching of mechanical destruction of big wood; WHY AREN'T THESE HUGE OLD-GROWTH LOGS GOING TO THE MILL?!
Take a close look the logs all have big knots, are not straight and have some infection or are rotting. Not good enough for a sawmill.

Hi! I was wondering if you ever have to cool the screw down? I imagine that all that force creates a lot of heat. Fun to watch! Ron...
It does get real hot, but no, we never have to cool it down
Talk about getting paid to screw around on the job all day 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is there rebar in those concrete blocks
Only rebar is the lifting hooks that are recessed inside the block. Thanks for watching the video!!
Evening Ryan, thanks for the vid. I think that knarly log was an Eastern Red Cedar, or some of us southern boys call it mountain juniper.
Maybe, but the guys usually save all the cedar for the sawmill which I hopefully will show soon!
Some artist would love to make a sculpture, I'm sure, out of the rusty rotar. Put it at the entrance of your landfill.
Hey Star, we’ll find something cool to do with it
That wood screw works good on the logs but a stump shear is faster for stumps, looks like the screw is better when you're doing both
Yes, I think we may look at getting a stump shear soon
That big oak would make some good firewood dry as it is
Do you receive enough logs to justify going in the firewood business or is more profitable to mulch it?
More profitable to mulch it, but we do burn a lot for heat during the winter
how wide is that rotor? make hitch fill it full of concrete and turn it into packer for the roads on the mine hell now that i think about it you could probably make a compactor roller bracket that mounts to an excavator quick attach

I know you were talking about the grinder is a tub grinder better for stumps than the one you have oh yeah, enjoyed the log splitting good video keep them coming. Be safe.
For stumps, yes it would be better. But not worth buying for my particular operation, not yet anyways
That drill is one heck of a outfit, it definitely does the job but that's a lot of firewood somebody could've had. That will save you all a lot of time and work, have a good one!
We split up a lot for firewood, too, thanks for watching!
I enjoyed the video. Seems like I just watched that dozer when it was new with the fire suppression and then enjoyed the screw busting that wood up things got a lot of torque.
Same dozer, just a little rougher looking now! Thanks so much for watching & commenting!
Your video skills are getting way better buddy..that's cool to watch..
Thanks 👍. I’m trying!
Love the new service area and that screw gets HOT. WOW. That big one really did give him trouble
Oh yeah, she gets hot!
That’s screw splitter is pretty dang cool. I’ve seen smaller versions but nothing like that.
I love watching that thing!
Rotochopper windchime?
Not a bad idea at all!!! 👍
Loved it, good therapy for all of us. Nothing worth watching on TV.
Totally agree, I pretty much watch nothing but youtube & ETV. Thanks for watching my video, I appreciate ya!!
Howdy from dfw mr. DiGG
Howdy Tug!! 🍻🍻
Great video, I bet those split logs make great chips for mulch.
Yes they do!👍👍
That's neat tool...I was going to get a small one for home. You convinced me that it works...love that tool I can watch it for hours.
I love it!
Boy that log screw can sure help identify which trees are the stronger woods. And why it might cost more at the lumber store.
Good point!! Thanks for watching👍👍
I am from Canada
Thanks for watching in Canada!
Pretty cool
Thanks for watching!!🍻
That hydraulic screw must get extremely hot, I'm surprised it doesn't have a cooling system.
It does get pretty dang hot! I guess the hydraulic cooler keeps the fluid flowing to it “cool enough”
@@TheRealMrDiGG It's deffinatly cool, i know that haha 😉
