    This taught me more in 6 minutes than my prof and his 6 hour lectures of not actually teaching. Thank you!

      As a fire service instructor, I'll point my recruits to this video to help explain building construction.

    I like how you put the section detail as well. Especially how the pieces were increasing on both 3D and section drawings.

    I recently received my Builders License and all i do is watch videos and take notes (along with actually building). This is one of the best basic 101's I have come across. Starting from the ground up, and the detail on the side that adds more detail as we move a long is really the best part of this video.
    Incredible work. Thank you

    5:50 a drop beam doesnt end up showing on the lower floor if you put up a plaster false ceiling at its level. This also means you can put extra insulation and noise cancelling layers in the false ceiling

    • @bruniarchitecture
      @bruniarchitecture  ปีที่แล้ว

      Money spent on that might as well do a larger upset beam

    • @bruniarchitecture
      @bruniarchitecture  ปีที่แล้ว

      Also if you have an 8’ ceiling dropping the ceiling to 7’-6” would be too low for most people

    • @nunosilva187
      @nunosilva187 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bruniarchitecture or just elevate the floor height to compensate?

    Boards 5cm by 30 cm and 5 meter long, placed horizontaly (30cm being vertical) for building a horizontal roof, would they bend from their own whight or under snow ?

    Floor sheathing should have been placed “perpendicular” to floor joists.

    Great video! Are the front and back exterior walls lid bearing? (The walls without doors/windows in your drawing)

    • @bruniarchitecture
      @bruniarchitecture  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! The bearing walls in this model are the exterior walls where the roof rafters rest and that wall in the middle that cuts the house in half holding up the ceiling joists. The walls without windows will help tie the two exterior load bearing walls together to help with the force of the roof rafters pushing out. Hope that makes sense

  • @pabloguitar6360
    @pabloguitar6360 ปีที่แล้ว

    that decking should have been turned 90 degrees over the joists.

    • @bruniarchitecture
      @bruniarchitecture  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Anything not supporting other members are considered partitions ( non load bearing)
