I'm from Finland and I felt all stressed out there with the people being so quite and shy. Also, it was hard to feel relaxed when the weather was cold and summers was rainy. Last year I moved to Mexico....................................wow and gosh, here I feel so relaxed I Love everything. Music all over and dogs barking all over and people all over everything all over I just Love it. Viva Mexico in memory of Juan Gabriel and Vicente Fernandez and our beloved Frida and all the colors around🤩👍🙏

Big issue here in Finalnd is, that no matter if youre a plumber, street cleaner, nurse, engineer or CEO, you have no status, youre equal. People dont bow who you are but respect that we have all these people to work together. We need everyone.

I am from Spain and I lived in Finland for almost two years and I completely agree on everything you say! Something I remember clearly of when I came back to Spain is being in constant aware of noise and people's voices here. There is no silence anywhere, not even in spas! I will come back to Finland this week for holidays and really cant wait.

I had to move from mid finnish small town to helsinki. For awhile, i was living in a small apartment in helsinki suburb. But after some years, because i was used to quitness, i found solution, i built a house near helsinki, 35min away, and we got no neighbors that i can see from my yard. I hear nothing while sitting on my terrance. The nearest wild berry bushes r literally under 10m away from our front door. So i got my peacefull place, without living in a middle of nowhere. I call this as a perfect solution❤

I have a Spanish mother and a father with a Danish mother and German father.
I was allways more at ease alone and never understood why i could not feel at ease with a lot of people. I wanted more 1 to 1 conversations and a deep bond with 1 person for example.
My question is...do Finish people help eachother out or are Spanish people helping eachother out.
I live in Belgium, but people are cold and everybody is mostly on their own, very lonely and everybody seems not to have anyone when needed.
In Spain my family ( Valladolid ) is not very helping either when you have a problem.
Are Finish people there for eachother or also alone?
In Bulgaria people help eachother out more even if they are not family.
      In Greece also.
I was thinking to emigrate again.
Sweden, Spain or Greece ( Icaria ), maybe Finland.
      Gracias para responder.
      Saludos desde Belgica.

Wow I loved this video! I am Finnish but I lived for a while in Tanzania, in the countryside in a local family and it was crazy how difficult it was for me to get to have some time to be alone. (I loved the family, it is not that, but as a Finn, I need my time alone everyday). Sometimes I tried to go for a walk on my own and immidiately someone of the family would come and join me, cause they could not understand that someone would just want to walk around alone - like they always thougt something was wrong with me, if I wanted to be alone.. And I met a Tanzanian woman in Dar Es Salam, who had studied two years in Finland and she said that, first when she came to Finland, she felt alone, but when she learned to be alone with herself, she had those same difficulties with me, when wanting to be alone in Tanzania.. Like the people there just could not understand her!!
I am happy to hear you have found good things in life here! I wish you all the best in the future too! 😍😍

I love the way you speak🥰🥰I wish I could be this calm.
Everything you've said is so true. I would like to add that the power distance in Finland is very low. It is hard to tell who is richer or better off than the other. Everyone relates with the other person on the same level and that's why there is dignity in labour. Whether you are a cleaner or a manager, you are treated equally.

We keep to ourselves, we don't get involved in other people's shit, and the bus is full when every other seat is occupied. That's why we are happy. We value our privacy and personal space above all else.
But in all seriousness, it's been going downhill for a while now. We took a lot of things for granted and started to adopt and accept behavior models and other things from other countries and cultures while abandoning our own values, identities, history, and heritage. That is, of course, a global issue. We are no longer citizens of our own countries, but the world instead. And that creates a lot of needless friction.

Naija, thank you for your beautiful video and realizing Finlands beauty every way.......I love that Finns do not judge lots of issues in life.they let it be.living in states over 30 years has made me appreciate Finnish upbringing and especially my parents.finnish parents let their children make their own decision in life.here parents have huge impact even their grown children lives.Finns do not care your political or religious beliefs.its your own choice.and that quietness is something else......walking in nature is soooooo healing....enjoy beautiful Finland and sounds like you do.all the best for you 😀

I am Finnish myself and I just recently visited Lagos in Nigeria and actually it was a lot of fun there. However I noticed there are a lot of things that I saw were distracting people's growth and like you mentioned in the video that you didn't simply have time for anything I can understand it. Especially in a city like Lagos the traffic is a lot so it takes long time to move from a place to another. Also the roads are not that good in many places.
Secondly it's more challenging to eat nutrisious and macro-balanced meals because buying foods take longer time. One small street shop might not have everything you need and you might need to go to meat markets to buy meat (= you buy actual goat, they kill it to you and then the meat is shared with other buyers). Also supermarkets like ShopRite have quite high prices and it takes time to drive there. There isn't smaller shops like in FInland we have Alepa, S-market or K-market. Most of the small street shops (kojut) are actually really small and they might not sell much. I found ingredients for scrambled eggs and plantain but that's it.
Thirdly there simply isn't time for much when you need to find ways to earn living. Work can take long time as well as traffic. You are so tired in the evening that there simply isn't energy to do "hobbies". Also the electrical breaks are pain in the ass because somedays you might not have enough battery to use your computer or phone and need to wait until you get electricity from somewhere. If there is no light what can you do in the evening?
I really hope this year presidential elections will change things. Ghana has given great example of wiser leadership (they're like Sweden to Finland) and hopefully Nigeria is able to find their own succesfull path as well.

I don't know if they have talked in our healthcare from the vitamin D to you but I have a friend who moved here from Australia. She was told in the introduction course, that her working organization had, that because she moved here from really sunny country she needed more vitamin D than the locals. That is because her body was use to get a lot of sun and because of that having high levels of vitamin D in her body, what is not happening here. With the darker skin you also make less of it because of the adaption to living in really sunny area of this planet. So it is even more important to supplement it in high enough dozes. I have come to conclusion that it is also wise move to check the levels at least once during the darkest months to see that your body has enough of it and that the supplement that you are using is absorbed. I have had that happening too that I have taken extra and then my blood levels has still been under the minimum from what they should be.
And it was really interesting to hear how we have changed you ;) . I have to say that during this pandemic it has become really handy that you enjoy your alone time. It really has helped through the worse parts where it has been pretty much impossible to see anyone.

I crew up in Finland. Back then in 1979 being 22 years young I moved to CA USA. Lived there for 40 years. So back in 2019 when I retired I moved back to Finland gosh, things has changed. I did not like quite shy people also the weather, short rainy cloudy summers long cold also cloudy winters so I said to myself that O no, this country is not for me, so back in December now 2022 I moved to Mexico. I Love Mexico, the people, colors, food, music, women meaning beautiful so very sweet senoritas the dancing gosh everything so Viva Mexico and no Viva Finland for me. I can't understand how the people from ok warm wild country's can stand living in Finland but then again, Finland provides good benefits so I can understand that. So anyway, you are a beautiful women in natural way, you sounds so very sweet. If I would have bumped in to you while I was in Finland mmmmmmmm, I wonder maybe I would have stayed if we would have become lovers. Sounds like you are down there in Helsinki and I lived in Vaasa that sleepy so very sleepy little city. OK, life goes on good luck with your life in Finland.

Everybody needs them own time and to be alone. There is no other way to learn who you really are if you don´t have chance to have your own time and be alone once in a while.
I could be months on my own no-one around and i wouldn´t be bored. I love the own space and time, but i also enjoy my social life as well. When i go out i´m like a different person and no-one could even guess how much i also like to be alone.
Some people are not able to do that and need someone else by them side. They just can´t be alone and even fears of being alone. Specially some womans just can´t be alone. If they are alone thay have to at least call to someone and be on the phone talk constainly. I have few friends who are just like that and i think that it is weird that if you can´t manage couple of a days by yourself.

The more immigrants we receive, the less safe and peaceful we become. The worst thing is, that nobody expects the newcomers to even learn the languge or cultural customs. Ps. When in forest, use your quiet voice- we believe the forest is a home to not only animals but also spirits. It's rude to make noise there.
