Yep but it flies great now. I still fly the crap out of it. The elevator is solid with the servo in the back. I've gradually ran a smaller battery with cg very aft. Ive tamed the wing rock with an elevator to flap mix (not totally eliminated yet). With some mixes (elev to flap) and full span ailerons, it flies awesome. Ive abused this plane... not great landings and one car crash (with the plane inside) and even though it no longer looks new, i still love it.
To do everything? I think 7 or 8. 8 if you want thrust reverse. There might be some trick you can do with Spektrum but i don't run a spektrum radio. Do you need safe selectable on a switch? If not, you can use that channel to activate the door.
I did not. It's on a switch and I turned it off before flight. I never turn safe on initially on a maiden. I was intending to turn it on during flight to test its response but I forgot to for this flight.

how many channels do u need on your transmitter to use the cargo door? i only have 6 channels

That is terrible for the price of this aircraft ( around $2k in Australia) i wouod have sent it back for exchange)

Interesting. Are all rc planes expensive in Australia? Over here, the price is in line with other comparable planes.
